Congratulations! This is impressive and inspiring. Our stories are eerily similar. My dad took me to the circus when I was five years old and the only thing I remember about it was my mom yelling at me for 20 minutes afterwards because I had gained weight. I'm glad to see that you have overcome similar circumstances. I…

Not any more. My mom said to me the other day "fat calories make you gain more than other calories and you won't convince me otherwise."

Thanks for the tips. As for the shoes, I wear barefoot running shoes all the time. I assume they will be fine. If I have issues with them I will investigate something else, but I really hate shoes. Regular shoes cause me to have a lot of nerve pain in the ball of my foot.

I used to drink a twelve pack of Diet Coke every day. I did it for years. When I quit, it was harder than quitting smoking. I went through real withdraw, too, worse than I did with smoking. What I did was start drinking iced tea sweetened with stevia. Any time I wanted a soda, I drank that instead. I haven't had a Diet…

At 300+ pounds, I didn't think it would be good for my joints to run on consecutive days.

I tried the "Minute PB2 Cookie" recipe from the Bell Plantation site. It's pretty easy: 1 cup PB2, 1 cup sugar, and 1 egg. Mix it all together and then form into balls. Use the bottom of a glass to flatten the balls and then bake for 8 - 10 minutes. I liked it, but I thought it was overly sweet and the crumbly dough was…

I weigh every day. I am the same as yesterday.

I ended up 300 over, so a 700 calorie deficit, but that's cool, because I was 300 under yesterday :).

Deja Vu

I did this, too! They all laughed at me when I sat down at the table with my scale.

I logged AND I'm even under on calories even though I wasn't worrying about them. Mostly because my new gluten-free thing meant no pie :/.

I was diagnosed with gout when I was 5 years old, and I rarely eat red meat. My most recent flare up has been going on now for about three months. It finally seems to be lessening, though.

Thanks for the responses and encouragement. I'm a bit concerned about running because I have K cups, and, no, I'm not talking about coffee. I got an enell bra and am hoping that will work. It feels like a straight jacket, but that's probably what I need.

I've found that if I eat what I want, when I want it, then I am far less likely to binge. When I end up binging is when I tell myself I can't have something and then spend a week craving it. When I finally give in, which I ALWAYS do, I end up binging and not just on the thing I was craving.

I'll be logging (as well as I can), but I won't be worrying about hitting any goals. I didn't log for Thanksgiving, but kind of wish I had. It will be interesting to see where things end up.

Yes, it is where the skin is attached to the muscle, so there is weight above and below and can cause creases and folds. Not everyone has it, though. I'm one of the "lucky" ones who does. ETA. I don't know if there is a fix for it. I saw a plastic surgeon talking about it and he said that the skin has "memory," so when…

This is exactly what I do. I've had the most success this way and I never feel deprived. I eat whatever I am in the mood for, I just make sure to fit it into my calorie goals. Occasionally I will still eat more than I plan, especially when TOM visits, but I don't worry about it. I just let it go. Each day is a new day,…

I don't know if this will help, but I find that I feel less hungry if I eat more fat.

Every morning, after my second pee (and hopefully a poo, but not always). Although, if I know I am retaining water due to TOM, I skip the scale for a few days.

When I was 14, I had a softball size cyst on my right ovary that caused me to lose that ovary. It took 20 years of pain, suffering, and uncontrollable weight gain before I was finally diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get proper treatment due to lack of insurance and limited…

Nope. Bacon is awesome. Just don't forget that the calories for one slice cooked of bacon does not include the calories from the rendered fat. The bacon grease needs to be counted separately. I personally prepare my bacon in the microwave and cook the eggs in butter. Mmm... butter.

I don't have insurance and haven't had anything at emergency room levels, so no, not yet. I'll qualify for something that I can actually afford after the first of the year, though, and then I will see what a doctor says.

I tried diuretics, but the seemed to make things worse in the long run, so now I just let it take care of itself. It can be frustrating, though.
-
My strategy is to have a little bit, because I know if I try to totally cut it out I will be bingeing on it in a few weeks. So, whatever I am craving, I have it, log it, and think nothing more of it. I know this may not work for some people, but it works pretty well for me.

I did IF for a few months, but am not doing it now. I had a 4 - 8 hour eating window with 16 - 20 hours of fasting between. It just depended on my mood and hunger level where I fell into that range. During my eating window I still hit my regular calorie goals. I lost exactly the same as I am losing now. The benefit of IF…

Ugh. I had a friend who was on something, maybe Weight Watchers, and she wasn't allowed to eat watermelon. I was like "Seriously? Watermelon is one of the most nutritious and delicious things you can eat." She kept going on about glycemic index garbage (she's not diabetic).

I used to drink roughly a 12-pack of Diet Coke every day (yes, really). I gave it up about three years ago. It was really rough for a few weeks. In fact, quitting diet soda was actually worse than quitting smoking. I still occasionally drink a Sierra Mist or an Izze, though.

I stopped losing for a month even though I was consistently hitting a 1000 calorie deficit. I went off the diet for a little over a week and ate pretty much whatever I wanted (within reason). I then went back on the diet and have been losing like I was before. During my off time I did gain four pounds, but that was mostly…

The Core II is supposedly coming out soon. Maybe wait for it? It is supposed to be smaller and more comfortable, plus there is a waterproof option coming.

I have had success mixing six ounces of prune juice and two ounces of orange juice twice a day until the problem was resolved.
