  • Resistance bands. Lightweight, very effective, easy to store and travel with, and there are tons of exercises that you can do. If you want a whole program, there are many that can be adjusted to use them (see youtube for examples) and I love that Chalean Extreme, P90X3, and T25 all show how to use the resistance bands for…
  • Not in my closet but in my my dresser. It's an old t-shirt of my dad's. One of those oversized shirts that are super soft and drape so comfortably over you that they're like wearing a hug. It is the most unflattering thing in the world though. About 4 sizes too big, covered in paint, food, and general messy stains, there…
  • Kenzo L'eau Par or Clean Shower Fresh during the day. Gucci Guilty or Pacifica Spanish Amber at night. And I usually keep a rollerball of Stella McCartney Stella in my purse if I need something quick that'll cover all times of day, all seasons. For men, I always like Kenneth Cole's Reaction, but I'm not sure if they make…
  • For makeup, Lisa Eldridge, Charlotte Tilbury, and Ruth Crilly. For skincare, Lisa Eldridge again and Sophie Uliano (for homemade and natural products). For hair, Lilith Moon and ladollyvita333. For fitness, Cassey Ho from Blogilates and Zuzana From Zuzka Light. For fashion, I like to watch the shows on Fashion Channel and…
  • My husband just started doing this workout: http://www.menshealth.com/fitness/muscle-building-11 Some of it uses pull bars and barbells, but if you don't have the equipment for something, you can always youtube how to modify any exercise to work the same muscles using the equipment you have. I have to do that with pull ups…
  • Mine, but more toned and with less jiggle than I have now. I'm working on that. I try my best not to compare myself to other and instead work with what I've got. If I base my goals around that kind of philosophy they seem to be much more achievable. And an apple shape is a beautiful shape. Be proud of it!
  • At home spa day! I fake a massage with an extra long foam roller routine, then I get on with the fun stuff. Deep conditioning hair treatment, a salt and milk bath, body scrub, face peel, face and body pumpkin mask, mani, pedi, and giving my teeth a little whitening boost. All homemade so it's cheap, and to Pandora spa…
  • Not a DVD, but these are great videos and they're free. There are tons of beginner series on youtube, but Adriene is my personal favorite. I would check out the playlist for beginners, weight loss, and tips. And these aren't just 5 minutes. They can be up to 40 minutes, so they're full workouts.…
  • Do it. I've done 2 rounds and it's probably tied with Chalean Extreme as my favorite program. It was the first program that I did when I decided to start working out. It made me fall in love with weights and it gave me great results. If you look at my profile picture, the first is when I started BR and the 2nd is the…
  • I have this smoothie after my workout every morning: 1 cup Almond Milk 1/4 cup Berries 1/4 Banana 1 cup Kale 1 scoop Vanilla Whey Powder It's 285 calories, but if you leave out the whey it would be much much less since a scoop is over 100 calories. It's super quick if you prep. I put the berries, banana, and kale into…
  • I didn't. I just moved on to another program. After I finished a program, I didn't stop with the changes in lifestyle that I had made. I never follow the food plans. I just eat what I want while counting my calories. The food changes have happened more slowly than the exercise. I found it easy to fit in exercise, but it…
  • I wouldn't say it's evil, but I have a hard time slowing down on the Kraft Mac and Cheese. The kind with the cheese in the aluminum pouch instead of the powder. That's always been a favorite of mine. I still have it once a month. I can still eat an entire box in one sitting and actually have a hard time slowing down once…
  • Youtube sounds like it might be a good place for you to start. There are so many great videos that use weight or body weight and are completely free. Check out fitnessblender (not my personal favorite, but it's very popular and has TONS of videos), Blogilates, Zuzka Light, Sarah Fit, XHIT, Tone It Up, Live Strong Woman,…
  • Soup, adding it to polenta, foodwishes has a pumpkin flan recipe that was awesome, gnocci, or maybe pudding or milkshakes! If you can't find a recipe to eat that you want, it's great for the skin. I make a face and body mask by adding a bit of clay to a can of pumpkin. I use it after I exfoliate and let it sit for 10-15…
  • Artichokes are in season! They're a great source of fiber. I also like to add some Metamucil to my morning smoothie (which includes berries and kale which also have a lot of fiber) to get a little extra. But I also like flax. I'll add some flax meal to my oatmeal and I like to add it when I bake. Snacking on carrots and…
  • I love sumo squats and overhead presses. As a whole program, Chalean Extreme is my true love. It goes super slow and I see such great results. I hate anything that works my outer thighs, but I love it too. I'm not sure if that counts as weight lifting, but I figured ankle weights still count. There's a workout from the…
  • Another vote for Jillian Michaels. Body Revolution is always in rotation for me. Along with Chalean Extreme. I actually love Turbo Fire too, but I love lifting weights. I see the most results and have the most fun.
  • Oh Fred darling!
  • Rose McGowan in Planet Terror always makes me want to workout a little harder.
  • I measure at the narrowest part and around my belly button. I've lost the most around the latter. At the narrowest part, I've gone from 34 to 30.5, and at the belly button from 38 to 34. I'm 5'2" and went from 170 lbs to 145.
  • I averaged between 200 and 250 calories per workout. Up to almost 300 on the later workouts. I did 2 rounds and when I went to heavier weights (8's, 10's, and 15's) I was burning a lot more calories. I'm 5'2" and was around 155-150 lbs the first round, and 150-145 lbs the second. I wasn't following the meal plan either.
  • In my opinion, if you've lost inches, you've gotten results. The scale isn't the only way to measure success in my experience. I did T25 and lost a total of 2 lbs (so that's about 1 kilo I think) but I lost inches, went down a jean size, and looked more toned overall. Keep at it, the weight will eventually come off if you…
  • I have a bad knee and I found Turbo Fire to be awesome since there's a low impact modifier. The HIITs still get my heart rate up and I'm still using tons of energy without having to worry about my knee. I've found that even outside of the program it's been great since it gives me so many ideas and ways to modify exercises…
  • Citizen Kane. I've always meant to sit down and watch it!
  • The way that I lighten mine up is to use my own homemade marinara sauce (with TONS of veggies and anchovies as my secret ingredient), take away half the meat and fill it with chopped mushrooms (it still tastes super meaty), make my own pasta so that I can roll it out so that it's paper thin, use half the recommended cheese…
  • I've heard they are totally worth the cost and change your life. I can't wait to get one! Saving up right now!
  • I do a spa day (at home with homemade stuff so I save on $$) on my rest day if I've done all of my workouts that week. Then I try to do something special for every 5 to 10 lbs. Massage, going to a play or sports game, buy something I've wanted like a new video game. I still haven't bought GTA V since that is my reward for…
  • You ma'am, are a warrior! That body and all those kids? Wowzers! Respect to you for all you do!
  • It may take an extra cup of coffee, but I sure do. And I've yet to regret it.
  • I love it too! I make my oatmeal, morning protein smoothie, and nighttime protein pudding with almond milk. I think the best part for me is that I'm always reaching my calcium goals now. I always struggled with that. I wish I had hidden mine from my husband! He discovered it and we are now going through 4 gallons a week.…
