  • Do you eat many nuts? I often find that a couple of TBS of raw almond butter or a handful of nuts helps to increase my energy level and gives me some healthy fats to boot :) Sometimes I'll make a raw cashew 'cream' to drizzle over fruit (to boost fat and protein) or a garlic aioli sauce (also made from raw cashews) to…
  • Yep - I've made it with Quinoa several times :)
  • I've tried kelp noodles and was pretty pleased. They didn't taste fishy (thank goodness), just had a very mild flavor. Interestingly they were very crunchy (sort of like celery) right out of the package, but within in hour of sitting in whatever dish I had made (for example leftovers kept overnight in the fridge and eaten…
  • Sadly this is the ONLY recipe I've bothered to post on my blog thus far... but at least its one of my favorites and VERY EASY (we use it on everything. It makes a great sour cream sub or add some rejuvelac and dill to make a yummy 'yogurt' dill sauce to drizzle over a big greek salad! http://thedailysprout.com/ Cashew &…
  • Its funny you should mention that because I just started designing a website where I hope to share some raw menu planning ideas... When you are first learning about eating raw it can seem really overwhelming (it certainly has to me) but there is so little information available for planning out what you want to eat each…
  • I've been vegan for 9 years and I still travel with my own food most of the time... This is partly because I LOVE to eat, partly because I want to make sure my children (who are also vegan) receive a balanced meal option, but mostly because I don't ever want to impose my food choices on others, or make anybody have to go…
  • Good luck Mandy! I felt terrific when I was 100% raw - plus I feel much more in tune with my body now. I've noticed if I eat a little bit of processed food or certain soy items (like tofu) I feel like crap instantly (bloating and tummy ache). Its so nice to be in touch with your body and be able to hear its messages.…
  • I used the MFP journal to keep track of everything I ate. I wasn't really that hungry... Typically had a fresh smoothie for breakfast, a large salad or veggie wrap for lunch, and then a raw dinner. I'd also have a couple of snacks (fresh fruit, raw nuts, veggies, etc) between meals. :)
  • I ate 100% raw in the month of July and lost 20 lbs! It definitely works for weight loss, plus my skin has been looking way better too... I'm eating around 50-80% raw now and plan to continue a large percentage of my diet raw going forward.
  • Oooh! Thanks for sharing - looks great! :) I've got a bunch of raw recipes pinned in my raw pinterest folder (I've tried many of them, but not all yet): http://pinterest.com/jessigoodwin/raw/
  • Awesome job! I love your plans (especially accounting for mental health). :) Thanks for sharing
  • Pear shaped my whole life (even in my young teens)... Swimsuit shopping is so obnoxious because my top is usually at least two sizes smaller than my bottom. I've had some success with wide or straight leg jeans that can hang a little lower on my hips, but I can't WAIT to lose some darn thigh weight so I can go down a pant…
  • 20 pounds lost in my first 31 days! (I haven't weighed myself since, so I'm not sure what I've lost in the last 7 days). = .645 per day I've been eating almost exclusively raw and loving it.
  • Height can sometimes hide weight loss too... I'm pretty tall (almost 5'11") and it takes a much larger loss for me to go down a clothing size than a more petite person. How tall are you?
  • YAY! I've been vegan for about 9 years and eating raw for the past 30 days.... I love it and would definitely love some encouragement to stick with primarily raw for the long term. xo
  • I've only been raw since the first of July, but I'm also LOVING it! I find that the weight has been falling off really quickly for me and I'm pleased with how great I feel each day... I'm still somewhat tired in the mornings (partly my fault for staying up too late, and partly my children's fault for waking up at 5:45…
  • Congratulations! 24 lbs GONE! WOOT WOOT!
  • I'm really new to myfitnesspal and am enjoying the support thus far.... :) I've been vegan for about 10 years and can't imagine eating any other way. I don't really care what other people choose to eat (to each his own), although personally I don't believe our bodies handle meat digestion well and I find the concept of…
  • I'm glad to see a post on this because I'm new here at MyFitnessPal and was wondering whats up with the super low sugar allowance... I've been over on my sugar every day so far and have only been eating raw foods (so absolutely no refined sugars at all). Just my grapefruit and smoothie this morning put me WAY over my sugar…
  • I made some lettuce wraps and stuffed peppers last night that seemed pretty easy... Basically I just chopped up a lot of yummy raw ingredients (sweet corn, celery, cucumbers, raw pecans, avocado, fresh lime, etc.) and stuffed it into some lettuce leaves and halved sweet gypsy peppers from my garden. Then I drizzled it with…
  • I've been vegan for about 9 years and love it completely! I'm trying to incorporate more fresh and raw foods in my diet and want to be 90-100% raw this summer. It would be great to make some friends and find encouragement through this site. Feel free to add me :)
