Walk as much you can and work out (in your hotels). Say yes to whichever looks good. Remain satiated, but never stuffed!

Raley's/Nob Hill Wild Blueberry with Flax Granola -- 3/4 cup is 250 calories. That's 300 calories when you add the almond milk! (You can add 600 calories to me.)

Flour tortillas are backed by conquistadors. Corn is what you should try (a corn tortilla is 62 calories). I'm Mexican and flour tortillas are not forgiving. Glycemic index and the calorie count speaks for itself. And try it being warmed up....cold tortillas are bad. A wrap is sacrilege. There are trying to make it lavash…

I sorta new to this. I had a stroke (1.5 years ago) and I was dealing with aphasia and apraxia, and this would make me feel good (35 lbs ago). It was not being able to speak (I was able to understand and read) and it made me feel like a little kid. I had been a professor! The stroke left me with healthy body (it was my…

Your move to hiking could prove it's muscle mass. At 1400 calories, you're a little low. I would eat 1500-1600 calories.

Do get a grocery store near your hotel. What you will get breakfast buffet: carbs, carbs, and more carbs. Eggs and salsa (get at a grocery store), fruit, hardboiled eggs (get at grocery store or room service), or strawberry/peach/banana spread atop one waffle. I finish that with a cup of tea. You get to make your own…

Carbs! Which is why my simple carbs are going by the wayside. Quinoa, farro, and brown rice are my go-to complex carbs.

As far as lasagna, I'll give a whole wheat noodles a try and try to give vegetables a shot -- 2 cups spinach, cut up 1 cup carrots, and 2 cups kale. Spinach and kale baked in a lasagna might be your thing.

Get active. Red meat once a week. I know my college roommate, her cholesterol was 240 (i know, 5'4", 126 lbs.) She was walking once a day and lost about five pounds in three months, and her cholesterol was 200. She was a little high French sauces (butter!) and dialed it back to normal.

I think it tastes better with coconut milk. Almond milk changes after heat.

I lost 30+ and I lost 2 inches from my waist -- 7 inches of thighs and hips. It's frustrating! I think it was the walking, cycling and rowing that did it.

Bananas are a medium-glucose snack. Strawberries are cool (100% Vitamin C with a cup of them). Grapes --- not even Vitamin C and Vitamin B.

Mix it spaghetti sauce, lasagna, and tacos................. prepare 95% lean. Lean turkey breast is a no for me.

I've been reading about glucose index meal plan (someone call it a diet?). I'm prediabetes and I could use some low blood sugar. New potatoes, quinoa, and protein-packed pancakes are new carbs. I have a vegetable and a salad every meal. Been circuit training (arm weights), riding a bike, and walking. You got to build up…

I find it to be one step at a time. "Just don't drink," they say in AA.How's that going to work for an addicted eater? Food addicts have to take the tiger out of the cage three times a day. I've read that some drinkers have tried "controlled drinking," and it hasn't been very successful. Eaters don't just have to try it;…

When I'm menstruating, building lactic acid, etc. I was once weighed 9lbs. what I'm normally weighed in at. I still stuck to my diet, exercised, and the 9lbs melted off in day or two. You don't weigh yourself every day. You weigh yourself once a week.

I am borderline diabetic (a1c = 6.4) and can eat fruit and vegetables until the cows come home. My doctor would be overjoyed. Now, potato chips and pasta.....

Chunks of watermelon, strawberries, Granny Smith apple and peanut butter, Granny Smith apple and reduced-fat/full fat jack cheese -- peanut butter, honey, and wheat germ (it's delish!). It shouldn't be torture. It's going to take time, though.
