One more vote for the C25K. It will get you there, I went from not running 200 yards to completing a half marathon using this program.

I wish I'd pay that for petrol! 1.69€ here! :(

ROFL! You should use the left every now and again for balance!!

Couldn't agree more with the OP. I for one made excuses for years to friends and even family as to the reason of my weight problem, and you know what? The answer was just in front of me... lack of action, take decisive action today and most of you won't have a weight problem in a couple of years time.... What are a couple…

Hi and fair play to you for bringing up these issues. I wish I could help but I'm pretty sure that your issues are psychological rather then physical. You throughout your life have created mental restrictions to certain types of foods. When you say that it gets old really fast, so does fast food and all the greasy things.…

Have a look at the training tools on runner's world magazine online. You can get a training plan done on the website for free based on your times and distances. Shoot me a message if you have any questions when you get there. Good luck.

Never considered using and never will! As far as drugs are concerned I'm a one drug type of guy now... Alcohol is my only drug.

It is great to have such RHR. While I was training for half marathon my RHR was consistently under 52bpm's and I'm over 230 lbs. This was measured by a doctor because I didn't believe my own blood pressure machine. The doctor all he said was congratulations on being in such good shape and there's nothing to worry about.

My parter is currently almost 30 weeks pregnant with twins and she's the most beautiful she's ever been. So to answer your question: No, not all men worry about women weight!

Does she look great? YES Is she overweight? YES Would I consider her fat? Never, just right perhaps but that's just me.

I definitely recommend the C25K that was mentioned here before. I've used it and built my stamina up to half marathon distances. Have a look at the irish runner's group too.

What did I have for breakfast this morning again?! No, really I haven't a clue off the top of my head. I'll think about it and will get back to you if I find out! :)

My lowest was 52 while training for a half marathon, right now I'm on 56-58 normally.

101 in less then 12 months here and I haven't gone hungry a single day!

I've quit smoking almost a year ago (the one year mark will be on the 1st of March this year) and in the process I've lost 101 lbs too. So with the authority that these achievements give me (if any) let me demistify a few things: If you quit you'll put on weight. Well I've 101lbs that say otherwise. Quitting coupled with a…

I remember when I ran my first 10k... Then my first 20k there was a time too where I'd struggle to run for 30 seconds!! This goes to show that if you put enough time and dedication into something you can achieve things you never thought possible! Congratulations! :)
-
That's great congratulations, we're having twin boys in a couple of months! :) Add me up if you'd like (I'm not a mum though), it would be nice to share experiences.

Most people should eat the complete opposite of what they do. The biggest meal of the day should be breakfast as you're facing a whole day of activity and your body needs fuel, followed by lunch and light dinner so your body can rest during the night.

Remember RICE Rest Ice Compress Elevate Here's some more info: Firstly, be sure to remove the cause of the problem. Try to fit some 30 minute walking after your insanity training a suggestion for instance is doing 30 minute walks in the morning and insanity in the evenings or the other way around, whatever suits you better. I've just finished week 1 of insanity and the workout is pretty intense and leaves you pretty worn out but I'm…
