As someone who just reached goal weight, I would suggest not going to 1200, unless you are very short and very sedentary. Hunger is a hard thing to constantly fight. I wish I would have been less aggressive calorie-wise. It did not shorten the process and sometimes I gave up. Better to stay at the original plan and maybe…

There should be a red circle to the right. If you click on that, the food item will disappear.

Yes, it happens to me a lot and it is what makes weight loss so difficult. I would love any suggestions.

You look great!

My diary is open!

you are very welcome. Glad your bp is normal and the lab work is good. Keeping you in my thoughts.

Yes, I think it is very normal. I felt the same way. The entire world as you know it has been turned on end. My health care provider had on-line relaxation videos that helped me a lot. If you aren't able to sleep, drugs might be a short-term answer. Laughing for sure--dumb movies helped me a lot--Will Ferrell. Also old…

I tried to walk as often as I could. I used a route with a hill and tried to take more laps on the hill to feel like I was achieving something. In terms of diet, pretty much everything tasted like crap to me, but I did try to eat a plate of veggies every day. You will probably get specifics about what you can not eat…

I was diagnosed December 2013 Stage 3 C Inoperable. Tumor had invaded the chest wall. Did chemo first, then surgery, then radiation. Am on Tamoxifen. Gained 40 pounds with chemo that I've lost. Gained a little bit back and had a really hard time getting it off. Went on thyroid medication and am seeing a nutritionist and am…

I will be at 4 years next month. Mine was stage 3 C inoperable breast cancer. All my lymph nodes were involved. Tumor had invaded the chest wall so I did chemo prior to surgery and then radiation. You can do this. I gained 40 pounds during chemo but eating what I wanted and what sounded good. (Strawberry cheesecake ice…

Do you have access to a therapy pool? Maybe a PT trained to deal with your diagnosis? Hopefully your doctors/nurses can give you more ideas/resources.

Congratulations on getting through chemo. The steroids make you put a ton on. I lost about 40 pounds following MFP. My diary is open and you can go back to 2014 to see what I ate. I could only walk, but the weight came off. Best of luck.

I know you don't want supplements, but you might try fiber gummies. I take 9 per day which is way more than recommended but has improved my constipation issues.

Increase fiber and vegetable consumption

I have lost weight by walking, 40 pounds so far. I also weighed and measured everything that I ate. At first, a 1 -2 mile per day walk did it. Now I need to do 4-5 miles with some uphill inclines if I want to lose weight. I am unable to do much of anything else so walking is it for me. It took about a year for me to lose…

Hi everyone. I'm Mary from the San Francisco Bay area. I've lost 40 pounds since July. 6 more pounds and I'll be a healthy BMI (the upper end). The doc wants me to be at the lower end, but I think I need to take a bit of a break and just maintain when I've lost the last 6 pounds. It is very slow going. I have an almost 16…

I am not sure what your weight is now, but I think you must be very close to a healthy BMI. Is there some compelling reason (health-wise) to be at the lower end of the healthy BMI range? Could you decide that losing very slowly is okay? Are you getting help with emotional stuff? Good luck and hope you feel better and are…

I tried it for about two months and was hungry the entire time. I like MFP a lot more. It's been an eye opener for me to realize that my "salad" lunches are sometimes the most caloric meal of the week. I have a friend who does WW, but she only stays with until she's the weight she wants and then she's off of it until the…

I was at 180 pounds in July and had just started buying size 18 pants. (I'm 5'2") Last time I weighed myself I was 151 pounds. The size 12's are getting a little roomy, the 10's still too tight. I walk almost everyday about 3 miles. BP has gone way down. I've learned that I can sustain this lifestyle change and I think…

I eat Lily's chocolate sweetened with stevia. A half bar is 170 and I just always budget for it. A quarter bar would be 85, so that would work too. I usually get the dark chocolate with almond or crispy rice. They have milk chocolate as well it is a little higher in calorie.

I certainly didn't mean to hurt you. There certainly is enough pain with body image/weight loss to add to it in any way. I don't have the problem in the mirror, but in photographs yes. I just don't understand how my mind can see myself so differently. I know the camera adds ten, but in photographs I think the camera is…

I think I'm thin when I look at myself in the mirror but when people take photographs, oh my! I am still in the overweight category and maybe I won't ever look good in pictures. All my clothes are swimming on me, maybe if I got the right size I would see myself as heavier. So maybe if you have some of your bigger sizes…

Maybe you should try it for a month and see. Just be sure that you are logging very, very accurately--weighing your food, etc. I usually go more than a month between weighings and it works for me. If I had a scale I would get obsessive about weighing myself. For me, it has been helpful to just believe in the process. And,…

I think it looks yummy!

I tried Weight Watchers several years ago. I was hungry constantly. I like MFP much better. It has really taught me that everything consumed matters. I've lost weight and think I have a better shot at keeping it off since I will very gradually slide into maintenance. Hope it works well for you.

I walked over 3 miles in one day.

I don't have a scale. So I only get weighed when I go to the doctor, so it's pretty sporadically. When I had a scale, I weighed obsessively, it wasn't good for me. I finally have put faith in just counting calories and exercise. I've lost at least 25 pounds. I go to the doc next week, it will be interesting to see how the…
