I don't know why people are like that, I think sometimes people ask just so they can talk about themselves. Also I'll never understand why people will believe any ridiculous plan or pill will work but when you show them/tell them about MFP and they say 'Oh that will never work.' SMH.

We love it here too, it's so pleasant to walk around especially in the Twickenham area when we are going downtown. It's a 4 minute drive up to Land Trust for me I used to go up there a few times a week. I haven't been up there since I learned I was pregnant because of the fall risk, but I'll miss being close. It's so…

You can close your diary without logging any calories, it will just give you the 'eat more' warning. You are fine if you go under on occasion but try to eat a few calories over on another day this week if you are hungry. I agree with the sentiment above, 500 calories could be a nice splurge for dessert.

*waves* I'm in Huntsville (5 points, moving to South East once we get our house sold.)

I lost my taste for drinking a few years ago, I had some champagne last New Year's Eve. This year I skipped it because I was pregnant and I didn't really miss it, I still enjoyed the evening. I have at least another year before I should drink again, but I'm not bothered. (I know some women still have a drink while…

Go here myfitnesspal.com/reports/printable_diary/mrsmia73?from=2015-01-04&to=2015-01-04 and adjust the date range to three months ago, you can find the day you logged it and then go to that day on your calendar and remove it.

Getting 'endless broccoli' at Red Robin instead of 'endless fries' helps a lot. For sit down restaurants (especially when there is no online nutrition) share it with someone or get at least half of it to go. Most restaurant portions are at least 2 servings, some are 3-4. Prelog the nearest approximation you can find and…

The metal or plastic pieces that cap off shoe strings are called aglets.

You can check additional micros under the reports area. myfitnesspal.com/reports You can also adjust what you track under settings. myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings I do wish we could track more things on a daily basis.

All summer I wipe people's swampy butt prints off of the benches before I use them, I never say a word. How is it mean or judgemental to tell people to wipe the equipment after they use it?! Reracking your weights and being considerate of other people's time when they are waiting is just common courtesy it's not judgmental…

If you are going for a high protein meal that meets all three macros and several of your micros try something like this: (Meal total 50g of protein for 665 calories) 4oz Grilled Chicken (8g per oz) and 1/2 an avocado (2g per 100g, and 15g of healthy fat) with a side of quinoa (8 grams per cup), green peas (7.9 grams per…

All the ones I've ever seen do. They work similarly to kettles. I've had some that spit out starch water from the pressure value too.

I've had this one for a couple of years, it's huge for 2 people. We usually eat 1/4 cup (around 30g depending on type of rice) dry rice per serving so one cup makes enough for 4 servings. This makes up to 20 cups (if you don't use the steamer basket.)…

Why can't you use spices? They only add 15 calories or so to meals.

I got an electric pressure cooker in 2012, I've used it at least once a day since. It was expensive at the time, but it's really been worth it. It's like a crockpot but only takes 1/4th the time. A cheaper alternative is a rice cooker. Ditto on the digital scale, besides making food logging more effective it makes food…

I often put plain steamed rice or quinoa at the bottom of a bowl and then put my steamed/sauteed vegetables and meat on top so the juices/seasonings/oils flow down and get absorbed into the rice. I like having some in the bottom of miso or thai coconut soups. Sometimes I steam it using pot likker or chicken broth instead…

Swimming, recumbent bikes or ellipticals are going to be easier on the feet/joints. Maybe wearing 15-20 mmHg compression socks?

I'm with you on Okra, I never could stand it. Fried okra is worse, it just looks like snot and styrofoam. I don't like bell peppers at all, when I try to eat them I gag as if they are poison. I've never liked the texture of water chestnuts. I don't like raw onions at all, but I eat caramelized or cooked onions all the…

Pinterest usually has some good recipes. https://pinterest.com/owkids/kids-meal-ideas-gluten-free/ https://pinterest.com/explore/gluten-free/ It's also helpful to make things that don't contain wheat anyway, getting noodles from an asian food store is way cheaper than getting specifically gluten free products at a normal…

I plan to breastfeed but it will still be another 6 weeks until my daughter is born. There's a breastfeeding group over here; community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/197-breastfeeding-support

I only go vegetable/fruit shopping once a week, the produce store near me is closed and stocks on Mondays so I go every Tuesday. Everything I buy lasts a least a week. If your food is spoiling quickly, make sure you are cleaning out and washing your crisper bins often. I try to clean them out every Sunday and move anything…

Log everything you eat, then check the reports area at the end of the week. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/reports You can see all of your micronutrients there and you'll get a graph of your average daily intakes. It's helpful to have a visual sometimes. Here's the RDA,…

Eat it! Go to the gym if you want (and it's still open? Mine closed at 4pm today) It's Wednesday, you have the rest of the week to add an extra 100 calorie burn to your workouts.
-
Good list Also, if the gym has free child care rooms there is no reason to let children just run amuk in other areas the gym. It's dangerous! Lifeguards are not baby sitters, don't think you can send them to the pool area if you are not going there yourself.

I'm bookmarking this because I'm looking for the same thing myself. I haven't found a good replacement for the polarFT4 while in the water. The garmin that is suggested looks tempting but Garmin's HRM does not work properly while in water.…

I have a fitbit ultra, it's much less useful to me today than it was in 2012 when I picked it up. That's mostly because my habits have improved and I have different things to motivate me now. I can credit the fitbit to helping me become more incidentally active during the day (since I work a desk job) and having an easier…

Oh I didn't think that at all. I meant to agree that eating fresh food does not mean that I'm some sort of processed food hater, but it's easy to get on a slippery slope with things like that. I am just thankful that I have the option to eat better than I did growing up, instead of burdened by it. I should really stop…
