  • ^^^SO TRUE!!!! Thanks for the recipe!
  • I'd log it, just so that it doesn't become a habit. And also, I wouldn't beat myself up over a cookie (and you shouldn't either!) so it wouldn't bother me that much. That's my 2 cents!
  • It's great! I know it looks kind of daunting, but it's actually not hard at all, there's just a lot of steps. Once you have everything prepped it comes together quickly. I didn't have any but I would put some siracha on top if you like things spicy!
  • it's seriously yummy! I love it. I only have one serving left and I made it on Monday :(
  • Interesting, I make flax eggs for baked goods all the time, but I just use 1 T fresh ground flax + 3 T warm water, whisk it together, and let it sit for 5 minutes or so. I've never simmered it or anything.
  • Soups are my favorite way to stay full by eating primarily vegetables! they are so high volume and high water content. Always make your own so you don't have to worry about sodium!
  • This is good information. To get the health benefits of flax (omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids) you MUST grind it first (you can use a clean coffee grinder). If grinding them doesn't appeal to you, look into chia seeds. Essentially the same health benefits and you do NOT have to grind chia seeds to absorb the good stuff…
  • I use about 1/2 C. almond milk, 1/2 C. pumpkin, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1.5 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, 1/2 tsp. ginger, 1/2 a medium banana and probably about 2 C. spinach, then 5-10 ice cubes and blend! Makes one nice large smoothie :)
  • If you don’t include the yolk, you’re cutting out half the protein, 90% of the calcium, 93% of the iron, 96% of the B6, 95% of the folate, 91% of the B12, and all of the carotenoids, DHA (essential fatty acid), and vitamins A, E, D, and K! And for what? To eliminate the cholesterol and 4 grams of fat? Please. Eat the yolk.…

  • make your own healthy salad dressing? basic balsamic vinaigrette would be 1/4 C. balsamic vinegar, 1 tsp dijon mustard, 1 Tbsp. PURE maple syrup, salt and pepper, and 1/4 C. olive oil. Whisk together all the ingredients except the oil, then slowly stream in the oil while whisking constantly. That will make 1/2 a cup of…
  • it's great in soup because it doesn't get mushy like beans!
  • Basic balsamic vinaigrette would be 1/4 C. balsamic vinegar, 1 tsp dijon mustard, 1 Tbsp. PURE maple syrup, salt and pepper, and 1/4 C. olive oil. That will make 1/2 a cup of dressing and last for at least 3-4 salads. Or if you don't like balsamic, sub apple cider vinegar for it! yum yum. I've used hummus as salad…
  • http://www.choosingraw.com/ has many (but not exclusively) raw recipes, good luck!
  • Milk of choice (I use soy or almond), canned pure pumpkin, pure vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, 1/2 a frozen banana and 2 big handfuls of spinach (can't taste it don't worry and it makes it a beautiful green color!) This tastes like Pumpkin Pie!
  • I may not have come across how I intended. I meant, if you are someone who is going to eat dairy, low-fat is the best choice (opposed to whole-fat or fat-free). I certainly don't believe you need dairy daily to maintain a healthy diet and weight. I will look up the study, sounds interesting! I don't pay attention to most…
  • It doesn't actually increase estrogen, compounds in soy may mimic estrogen in the body, but the jury is still out on that one. And, as gucceegrl pointed out above, that's only if you eat way too much.
  • I'm so glad you advocated low-fat as opposed to fat-free dairy. Many people don't know this but without fat present your body can't absorb the fat-soluble vitamins (like vitamin D) and calcium in dairy products. Of course, saturated fat is not our friend either, but low-fat dairy is the best of both worlds!
  • I don't officially label myself anything but I try to eat at least 85% plant-based diet.....I love vegan recipes, they inspire me! • If you like math, go to school to be an Actuary. Best-paid job that requires only a Bachelors degree. Engineers also get paid well with just a B.S. and have good job prospects. Check out the Bureau of Labor Statistics for info on the jobs with the best career outlooks, and then decide on a major based on what you'll be…
  • SQUATS AND LUNGES as many as you can do hahahaha!!!!! and jackknives are the hardest ab exercise for me and give great results, but you need a stability ball for those. Planks are good too!
  • YES! I have been experiencing the same thing lately! I think it's great- force me to keep eating healthy if I stop liking the taste of crappy food! I can't STAND artificial sweeteners.
  • You can saute it in garlic and olive oil as a veggie side, or steam or boil it if you prefer. I throw it in things like egg scrambles/omelets and lasagna and it's great. If you make green smoothies it works well in those. but the absolute BEST THING TO DO WITH KALE IS MAKE KALE CHIPS!!!!! It's a very sturdy green and will…
  • I know everyone is saying instant oatmeal is crap, but since I eat breakfast at work and my choices are limited, I buy Kashi Go Lean instant hot cereal..... it has a lot of fiber and protein in it especially compared to instant oatmeal. Better Oats also makes a ton of different kinds of instant oatmeal that are whole…
