Apples and pears are fruits that are high in sorbitol, a special kind of sugar they contain, which can cause bloating and discomfort in people who are sensitive to it. I have the same problem :( I hadn't heard of itchy gums before though- I wonder if that is sorbitol-related as well?

mmm this sounds yum!

sounds really good! I'll have to try it

You should try reading the book Eat To Live by Dr. Fuhrman- He talks about eating foods with a higher nutrient to calorie ratio which results in eating a larger volume of food. Seriously, look into it.

I will have to try these! Seems like a LOT of truvia though
-
I'll have to try this! Love ranch dressing :)

Love banana pancakes! And happy to see a recipe without eggs :)

I agree about the Larabar Banana Bread flavor- I don't know why they taste so awful?!? But I like a lot of the other flavors, particularly the Apple Pie and Coconut Cream Pie ones. Don't write them off! The reason someone would choose Larabars over Luna or Cliff bars or some other bar is because they are made with just a…

Apple pie flavor larabars are my favorite! I make them at home- here is my recipe: 80 g dried apples (I use the New Zealand dried apple rings from Trader Joes they are the BEST!) 80 g raisins 100 g pitted medjool dates 100 g raw walnuts 100 g raw almonds 2 tsp pure vanilla extract 2 tsp cinnamon In a large food processor,…

I was dying laughing writing it :) MFP forums for the win!

You really make such a compelling point, you predator, eating your animal flesh (animals that you LOVE) that you had nothing to do with hunting or killing, or doing any of the "predator" stuff to. Please. Animal flesh is handed you on a silver platter. Maybe you and a lion should get in a room together, put your…

hahahhaha

good point, my sleep was about to be extremely disturbed by the thought someone from a MFP forum was judging me for killing all that kale. The research supporting your soy-as-an-endocrine-disruptor claim is rocky at best, so don't go throwing that out there and scaring everyone away from a poor little innocent bean! The…

You'll never get enough nutrition from a plant-based diet? Maybe you should do your research on nutritional needs, and benefits of a plant-based diet. And where exactly do you think the meat you are eating that is "so nutritious" got it's nutrition from? What did the animals that you choose to eat, eat?
-
It also cracks me up how many of you seem to think you know EXACTLY what "cavemen" were eating. The Paleolithic period was a massive time period, and we know very, very little about it.
-
Some of us care because we are deeply disturbed by the billions of animals that are dying to feed people who *PREFER* (notice I didn't use the word "NEED") to eat this way. Not to mention the massive environmental harm the meat industry is causing to the planet we all have to share, even those of us who want nothing to do…

Seriously. THIS. I don't think I could have said it better myself. One thing- some of you have been accusing the scientists in the study of "going into it with a specific outcome in mind already". Let me give you a refresher on the Scientific Method- Observe, hypothesize, test. All experiments/studies begin with a…

I like Garden of Life Organic Sprouted RAW protein. It's a little chalky but I got used to it pretty quick and it's not as bad as a lot of others I've tried
-
whey protein is a complete protein, also egg and soy protein are complete. There are also vegan protein powders that are complete because they use multiple plant sources to derive all 9 essential amino acids. Other then that, I'm not going to weigh in on this because everyone will start yelling at me that I'm wrong- but I…

Stating that drinking 8 cups of water a day will flush the water soluble vitamins you need out of your body is one of the most absurd things I've read in these forums. Ridiculous.
-
I ate it for lunch every day this week.... I love having all my lunches made on Sunday!
-
Vegan recipes sound like where it's at for you then! Hope you love it

that sounds so difficult! I hope this helps.

I don't eat 100% vegan either, but this is 100% delicious :)

also, it seems like a ton of liquid, but those lentils cook up a ton! I thought when it was done I would puree part of it to thicken it, but then when I made it I found that it got very very thick all on it's own- it's like a very thick chili! Of course if you prefer it, you can always puree part or all of it in a blender…

you're welcome! I always use diced onion+celery+carrot as a flavor base for my soups, but sometimes I like to add in big chunks of carrot too! This nutritious recipe is super low cal, super high fiber, super high protein, super easy, and SUPER CHEAP! win-win-win-win-........

Thanks a lot! sounds like something I need to start doing- I LOVE steel cut oats with a passion! but I hate how long I have to babysit them for when I cook them on the stovetop.
