Happy Sunday! Today will be a more relaxed day. Got a call from DH who is on schedule to leave Afghanistan Tuesday and hopefully home next Monday/Tuesday. I’ve been getting things gathered and prepped for a trip he and nephew have planned. They will be going for half of the Sturgis SD Harley Davidson Rally week. It’s been…

Icing knee for now, but I want to get out and do some yard work today. Svelte – how wonderful that you and DS are motivating each other. Best of luck; check in often because this is a fantastically motivating group. My nephew is the one who got me started this time. DH has never had a weight problem, but continually tries…

Happy Saturday! Feeling pretty good overall. Did my morning 3 mile Leslie Sansone walking DVD, went to the wedding reception, ate less than ideally, and arrived home later than expected. Didn't end of going to the gym, however I did a second 3 mile workout with Leslie Sansone. As long as I keep that type of focus, I will…

Didn't go to gym last night :-( Nephew called as I was going out the door to talk workouts, successes, etc. By the time we were done, the gym window in my head closed. Then I ate a sweet and salty granola bar - rats! I knew on some level I shouldn't get them till DH was home. At least I still stayed under calories for the…

Hi, all. Quick in and out. Feeling good, have to get to the post office, the library (yea, more workout videos are in!), & then will see if I can start the lawnmower & weed eater. Wish me luck, Barbie – I love your little animations, I could’ve used that threesome of Happy Dancers after the gym last night. ;-) Where do you…

Home again, home again, hippity hop! I always feel so good when I go to the gym in the evening. The added bonus is there's not many other people there, but enough to make sure I don't wimp out and quit part way through :-b Did longer but slower on the treadmill - 45 minutes at 2.5 MPH. That was my concession to the knee…

Good news, doctor has said to just go easy with the knee – there are no obvious tears. I can use the level of Aleve that's keeping pain at bay for a while longer without a problem. So, walking more today, will try and get to the gym tonight during the infamous “I want a snack” period and at least do some circuit training.…

Happy Wednesday, all! I’m going a little stir crazy today. Trying not to overdo it with the knee. Taking too much Aleve to keep the pain down and icy/hot isn’t my favorite fragrance. :grumble: Dr. appointment this afternoon – yea! Staying off my feet – yuck! I need to cut my grass while it’s cloudy like to day, grr.…

It’s Tuesday & hope all is well wherever you are. Twisted the knee carrying microwave I’m donating down steps to the car. Good grief, this poor knee may never forgive me. It’s painful enough I’ve taken Aleve, used some icy/hot and made an appointment with my doctor. She cannot see me till tomorrow, rats. I plan to keep…

Hello all, just a quick check in to say hi & thanks again for having this wonderful thread! Just settling in after having gone to the gym after dinner for more cardio via treadmill & abs & obliques work on machines. I told myself that doing 48 minutes of Leslie Sansone's 3 mile walk at home was enough for a day, but then I…

Happy Monday, everyone! Doing projects around the house that have been neglected lately while I waited for Fedex to deliver something. Did a couple of dog walks & my 3 miles with Leslie Sansone. She's just about right for now at 3 miles. I can do it, especially if I use 3 lb. weights most of the time, and feel stretched…

PAT - All of us seem to have times of great frustration over this weight loss stuff. When I read that others are struggling, too, it really does help me through the day. I am probably gaining weight while I am doing this house-cat sitting gig, but I am still posting, still trying, still thinking about the program. That is…

Appreciating the kind words & trying to remember that karma will even things out eventually. This is where I struggle, I went into major decline last time this happened & I will fight it harder this time. Did small splurge of some roasted, unsalted pistachios, but stayed on track food wise and under food goal yesterday.…

Trying not to let rejection pull me down - yet again, did not get the teaching position. I changed professions and I really love teaching children, parents & fellow teachers say they find me easy to work with and effective, still cannot get hired. I think I have 2 strikes against me - age and weight. Frustrating to throw…

Just a quick update, now that I've read up I haven't enough time to do more. Enjoyed dinner with family last night. Scale this morning said I didn't gain anything. Let's hear it for proactive exercising! Didn't end up doing 3 mile DVD workout because knee was too sore. Did the leg machines at the gym along with the…

Hello & welcome! You became part of this as soon as you posted. You will find all sorts of motivation here. It's a lovely group of women who sustain each other and get a few laughs in, too. Enjoy your Thursday!

I have also hear how bad it is for you. I'm trying to stick with water and tea. Still, what I've found to squelch that diet coke urge is Zevia soda. It's made with stevia instead of the other artificial sweeteners. It's not cheap but comes in cola, root beer, dr. pepper-ish, grape and creme. I keep some in the refrigerator…

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Yep, scale went backwards. I don't care, if I were less of a numbers freak I'd only weigh once a week. As it is I just have to get on the scale, but I don't let little ups and downs bug me. Now if it'd been 5 lbs. I would be worried. I am taking advantage of summer break to insert multiple…

Hello all, just checking in quickly before I go to the gym! Really not sure how many calories I've burned so far today. Did Leslie Sansone's walk at home 3 mile, but took two phone calls from my sister in the middle of it. I paused the DVD & kept brisk walking with raising knees while talking to her :-) My knees are…

I'vee gone to that lavendar festival - how wonderful!

Does anyone else post on both their newsfeed and here? I feel like I want to cover all my bases. The scale’s heading the right direction again. Thank you everyone for the kind words and positive energy. I always feel better when I can support, motivate, and inspire others. What’s helping me this time to embrace the…

Checking in again. I’ve been to the gym to do my 35 minutes of treadmill, abdominal machine, & circuit exercises for legs. I’ve just added 2 since right knee is still unhappy that I fell on it 3 weeks ago but I got through 3 sets of 10 at 30 lbs. While I did feel somewhat wimpy, at least I did them. I’ve already done…

Hello all & happy Monday! Interview is over! :drinker: I have no clue how it went. I believe I gave effective responses, but it’ll depend on so many variables that I’m just going to kick back and hope for the best. Now, back to making me a better me – on to the gym now that I’ve done a little catching up. CityJane – face…

Hello again, needed to jump on and update my food diary. Today's been a good one, I think embracing a small steps rather than big picture attitude has helped. Tomorrow morning I'll be interviewing for a teaching position, .5 reading & math interventionist. I hear that sometimes 2 elementary schools "share" an…

I wish I had the time to catch up on all the posts everyone's made since I was on here last, but I have an interview tomorrow (yippee!) and I need to review for that and get my mind in a serene place. It’s still Sunday and a better day for me. I didn’t meet my steps goal for yesterday, only got about 4,500 in and…

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Okay, I had to get that out. Today I had several things disrupt my schedule and earlier I posted that I would go work out after 8 PM. I looked at the clock at 8:30, thought about not going, and then remembered that I'd have to tell you all that I hadn't gone to the gym after all. NOT that…

Today it's been harder to get on track. In the AM, one of DH's friends needed to come by and pick up some tool & took forever to get here. I wanted to get to the gym before meeting a friend for tea/coffee at 2 PM, then we talked and talked which was great. I've only got about half of my steps in and still need to hit the…

Marvelous looking pool, enjoy! Okay, the day's not over; haven't done the night time dog walk, but I've got over 11,693 steps! Granted some of them were very slow, especially right after the gym today, but I don't care, passed 10,000! janie - Pacific NW

Just logged on to post my gym workout and catch a few posts. Did 35 minutes on treadmill, got my heart rate up to 140-145 for a short time. Seems like if I use the "standard" that would mean I was working at 84 - 88% of capacity. But my armband recorded only moderate exercise the whole time - not sure how to adjust for…

Happy Fourth of July to all in the US! City Jane - Great feeling isn't it when you can fit into something unexpectedly; it's one I plan on reacquainting myself with soon. Michele (exermom) – what a pool! Fantastic! I've done my morning dog walk and will hit the gym later today. Shooting for doing more than 3 minutes of…
