I think that sounds like a healthy way to think about it. I guess my biggest concern is that I'm eating 1300 cal/day, which is clearly not enough, because I'm losing weight. I can see value in letting my body find it's own equilibrium - I guess I'm more concerned about figuring out what is that healthy intake for…

Lol. Relaxing was what got me *into* this mess to begin with :) But, I hear what you're saying... Alright...so, small increases, and don't flip out about fluctuations... I can do that. (fingers crossed)

Yep. But, certain types of exercise make my cramps worse, and make my lower back scream. Yoga is great, Nia is great... I avoid things like crunches (lol) and high impact stuff... (actually, who am I kidding - I avoid high impact stuff all the time, lol)... I agree that some ibuprofen or something like that is helpful.…

Welcome :) MFP is a great resource and a great source of support. You'll find lots of people here who will be glad to share your journey with you. :)

Lol. Not the only one. I was meeting with one of the guys in the financial literacy program I run, and he asked me when the "happy event" was. I had NO IDEA what he was talking about (I was thinking... lunch? in about twenty minutes...) Nope, he wanted to know when I was due. To his credit he was appropriately mortified…

If it wasn't so sad, I'd LMAO at that.

Try drinking water and eating a banana a bit before your work out. Bananas are a great source of potassium.

I'm finding that my sleep pattern is changing as I eat better, and work harder... Part of what I've found is that if I start feeling tired, I have to just go to bed (sometimes, it's 9pm, which is somewhat sad, but...) If I fight it, I end up awake half the night because I've caught a second wind or something. I don't know…

Oh, god. There's a "medium McDonalds Big Mac meal with sweat tea...." I don't know which part of that is the worst. gag. :D I've heard of people "sweating buckets..." never sweating potatoes, or onions... sounds painful.

I couldn't believe how high it was the first time I was logging a Subway sub. Mr. Submarine is much, much better, but still higher than you'd expect from bread, cheese and veggies...

This. Artificial sweeteners give me a migraine, so I avoid them anyhow, but there is a growing body of research that suggests that daily consumption of "diet" soda leads to weight gain. One theory is that regular intake of artificial sweeteners teaches your brain that sweet = no calories, instead of sweet=carbohydrates,…

Let's be "friends!" I'm a single mom of one, and the thing that saves me (in terms of getting time to work out is that a dear friend of mine happens to live with us (and, she works from home), so, it means I can duck out 15 minutes before my daughter leaves for school, hit the gym (literally halfway to my workplace), and…

I've never done it, but I think I'd nuke it first (to make it runny), and mix it in just as it finished cooking... because, even in hot oatmeal, I think it'd be difficult to blend evenly.... Wonder if it would work with marshmallow fluff... ~k

My goal is to lose 30 lbs, get down to (and stay down at) 123. I've made some pretty significant lifestyle changes - i got to the gym for cardio and weight training 5d/wk and take yoga another day. My activity level has increased, and my food choices and portion sizes have become much healthier. I'm down 12 so far, so i'm…

I'm so in. :) This is my first MFP challenge, and I am looking forward to it. SW (July): 153.8 CW: 144 GW for Sept: 139 GW: 125 So far, I haven't gotten any crazy comments - everyone's been really supportive (or, possibly, they're afraid I'll eat them - lol). Jumped/fell off the wagon hard today. Mostly intentionally, but,…
