I really love my elliptical, I fought my treadmill due to knee issues for years. It was an unhealthy love hate relationship. Both will provide great cardio but I can do more and go harder with my elliptical simply because I don't have to fight the pain of the impact.

I have faith but I don't have a specific religion. It humors me to hear the complaints of intolerance in Christianity though, seeing that you can complain about it that makes it so ironic... That says a lot about its tolerance, since there are plenty of others that instill enough fear into society that you won't dare speak…

Bluetooth Zepher and icardio for me.

I have a gym in my house, but I travel for a living and not all hotels have weights. I have a set of bands that I keep in my bag and they range from 5 - 90lbs of resistance... which isn't really accurate, but they range from light to heavy with multiple bands. They are great for what they are, resistance training. If used…

Many years ago in the military, we ran in boots that weren't the highest quality or the best fit. We would suck it up and not complain because we were tough as nails. Decades have passed and guess which part of my body aches the most? Yep, my feet. There is no substitute for high quality shoes with a proper fit, and even…

If you purchase a Polar or other leading brand HRM, you are buying a dedicated device versus an add on selling factor "Oh we better put in an HRM to stay competitive" for the treadmill. The dedicated device is usually more accurate than an accessory for a treadmill, depending on the quality of your treadmill. I had been…

I'll just copy what I wrote on another reply but add that I try to keep my heartrate in my zone 3 and 4, when it tells me that I drop into zone three, that's my trigger to go again. I bought the zephyr bluetooth and use icardio as my workouts beat me up way more than bike riding or the elliptical and it didn't seem right…

I don't prescribe to any religion specifically but I have faith, I simply just don't think any of us have the answers but we will all find out one way or the other in the end, of that I am certain.

Wikipedia: Faith is confidence or trust in a person, thing, deity, or in the doctrines or teachings of a religion or view (e.g. having strong political faith). It can also be belief that is not based on proof.[1] The word faith is often used as a substitute for hope, trust or belief. In religion, faith often involves…

I bought the zephyr bluetooth and use icardio as my workouts beat me up way more than bike riding or the elliptical and it didn't seem right to me that only a couple hundred was expended. I am getting closer to 700 to 900 calories expended according to mine but I only spend about 45 minutes at a time, sometimes I'll go…

Faith is something that drives me to be a better person overall, including my fitness.

I love these threads. So inspirational, everyone looks amazing.

I've been there, I know what it takes thanks. Please don't assume for me either, if you took my post and read it through you would see that my animosity is against the media and the perception of what we should all look like, not the people who choose to try to be what the media thinks you should be. Being healthy is…

Furthermore, when I was lifting heavy, my arms were the size of someones legs, and yet they weren't big enough in my mind. When do men get big enough? When do women become thin enough? Perfect enough? Life gets in the way of perfection, I am being the best that I can be within the parameters of my capability and limited…

I think with the disposition of the population at large, the blog post was fitting. We see girls with body image problems day in and day out. The idea and daily visions of "beauty" and "fitness" is being distorted to heroin models and filled with unobtainium. There is no doubt that if someone cared to pay me to create my…

Wow.. What an *kitten*. I'm sorry that you had that happen. Don't let his insecurities get to you, stay strong and fight the fight, remember that you are working to improve your life, he is just working to destroy.

I love my Bluetooth Zephyr HRM that links to iCardio and automatically updates MFP. The BT HRM is $87 on amazon and the app for android or Apple is about $5.99 for the Pro version. Tracks everything I need, I have Endomondo too, but find I go back to iCardio. They both show a map of where you have been, and it's pretty…

If you are determined to go to this gym, then you have to be willing to get your "Alpha" female on. These people who feel that it's ok to be rude or try and push you around (which is what they are doing either directly or subconsciously) then you have to respond in kind. It's like dealing with dogs, if you are in charge,…

I don't know your exact numbers but it seems to me like you aren't eating enough. Give it more fuel. If you are working harder you need more calories. Your body needs calories to have energy. I recently increased my calorie intake by 200 and began losing again after a plateau and increasing my workouts. Keep in mind that I…

Weider 25 lb SpeedWeight Adjustable Dumbbell $59.00 x2 Universal UB300 Flat/Incline/Decline Bench $110.00 Gold's Gym Door Gym $19.97 Total $247.97 My suggestion is to replace the cost of your gym with a selective weight set like above and do your thing at home. Add an incline/decline bench and it will fit into your living…

What's with the, "You're both wrong" statements. The problem we have today is that people are willing to walk around without accepting blame for their actions with absolutely no personal responsibility. Then, when the next silly emotional outbreak occurs, the people feel that they can get away with it, and the other will…

I agree with amisnercpa, keep the weights low and do high repetitions, and learn your proper form. Learn how your muscles feel in the process and go slow both in the pulling or pushing and when the weights return, go slow, you should never swing or jerk your body to get the weights to move. Once you master your body…

Test your gear, your grit, and your determination. It is better being a lion for a day than a sheep all your life, grazing on what others provide for you.~ Me

Unless you raise your own chickens, have your own cow, and grow your own food, you are always going to question the ingredients of what is in the package. Critics are everywhere looking to write a "New" and "Revealing" book or video... even if they have to make it up. Every single article and video has another one in…

What is funny to me is that 30 years from now you'll both be as far from perfect as you'll have ever been, if you aren't working it through now, just think of the fun you'll have then.....

I would NEVER, and I mean never, tell my wife that she was fat, or ugly, or anything like that. It is an open wound for all men for some dumbass to say crap like that to their spouse, and it comes from both sexes. I have a sister in law that talks to her husband like a child, calls him names, and he just sits there like a…

If you aren't talking about work, or your hobbies, or what excites you (Your hobby), then why are you together? I have been married a long time and if I felt like I couldn't share my day with my wife, and hers with me, then I don't think I would be around long. What else is there to talk about if it's not what we're having…

Brutal honesty here... I have been married for almost 30 years, I am 48.... and we were never in the same mindset about it until recently. I'm more of an obsessive about it, but honestly it's always rubbed me wrong. I've always wanted to do things together, go do things like biking and hiking and being outdoors, she never…
