@ rolemodel69 thanks for your advice I do want to start out on basic stuff like you said, maybe one day I will be able to reach a higher level hopefully ! but for now just maybe 2x 5kg dumbbells to start with lol!

no I have no benches or anything like that! im on 1400 cals a day and just looking to build my fitness up! I have a cross trainer, Gillian michaels dvds and just wanted weights to tone and build strength! I appreciate all your advice!

LOL I do have pink ones but want to get serious now so no any colour will do as long as they do the job! I don't want anything too easy either need to push myself as ive heard it can help weight loss greatly which I never knew!

thanks everyone! ill look into buying some adjustable ones then maybe when ive lost a few stone ill look into going to a gym as I know I would benefit best from that!

sorry guys heres a bit more info! not done any exercise for a long time, im just starting out! I have about 100lbs to loose, don't feel confident enough to join a gym so was just going to do the basic dumbbell lifts, along with cross trainer and dvds! :smile:
