I'm 5'8 and 186, and I eat a minimum of 1600 calories. And that's if I do NOTHING that day. you need to eat more.

you read my mind.....

^^^ Agreed. I was using 1200/day plus eating back my exercise calories/day, and it wasn't nearly enough, I wasn't losing, and I was tired and crabby. I used these, they suggested 1700-1800, I'm using that, losing, and am satisfied throughout the day (Plus my workouts are now much better fueled!)

So I wasn't very clear in explaining myself (Sorry!) I had a baby 6 months ago, and I want to get rid of the jiggle around my waist/hips/things/entire body. I know about the need for the caloric deficit, and also understand that I need to do some sort of exercise in order to decrease the jiggle. I had someone tell me that…

Just made this last night..... chicken fajita salad throw sliced peppers, onions, and chicken breasts in a pan and sautee in some olive oil. add paprika, garlic powder, chili pepper, and cumin to taste (i dump a lot of cumin in, and keep mixing and tasting until i like it!). saute until chicken is cooked through. throw on…

loving this pork chop idea....

My daughter eats plenty of carbs throughout the day..... whole grain waffles with pb on them is almost a daily occurrence (it's her favorite, and i don't like fighting a toddler at 6am), she also eats plenty of whole grains, gets milk at most every meal, and eats a overall well balanced diet throughout the day. I do not…

If my children were old enough to make their own meals, I would for sure follow suit with you! Eventually, my time will come.....

Both of your posts have been snarky and rude. Why bother taking the time to read a post if you have no real intrest in being helpful?

This sounds DELICIOUS! thanks for the recipe!

Thank you! This is helpful! We get tired of the same old "chicken breast with veggies, steak with veggies, pork chops with veggies". I do allow my family rolls/bread with meals should they choose it, it's just nice to not have to cook a million different things after working all day if I can avoid it!

It's the only meal we all eat together. I'm assuming you've never worked full time and had to create meals for your family everynight. I am not "forcing my restrictive diet" on them, i'm simply looking for ways to incorporate my food choices with family friendly meals so that I am not having to do twice the work every…

19 lbs! only 25 more to go!

i think perhaps your doctor needs to learn a few lessons on social grace and etiquette! Being pregnant is incredibly difficult, and being chastized during your pregnancy makes it even worse. I gained 65 lbs with my first child, and 55 with my second. My midwife said nothing about my weight the entire time. She said as long…

I'm 5'8 and on a 1200 calorie plan as well. It's not easy. I eat a lot of protein, drink a lot of water, and eat a TON of vegetables!

I work with a podiatrist, she recommends New Balance and Asics. I personally wear New Balance, and will never again, buy anything but! But go in, get professionally fitted, and make sure you tell them whether you be running indoors, outdoors, treadmill, etc.... This is the best way to ensure you get the best shoe!

try a B12 supplement in the morning. I take 2000mcg timed release, and I definitely notice the difference when I don't take it! (Bonus: it's known to boost your mood as well! :) )

Hi! I am also a nurse, and it is hard. I find there tends to be two extremes with eating while I'm at work- either I'm running so much I don't have time to even consider eating, or I'm sitting at the nurses station half the night mindlessly filling my face with high calorie, low nutrient snacks. I've started stashing small…

GO PACK GO! *go do the opposite of everything you did against Arizona! :noway:

And don't give up on nursing! you're doing a wonderful thing for your child, and yourself! It really does help the weight come off!

I am also a nursing mom or a 8 week old, and also of a 2 year old. I am pumping between 40-60 ounces/day, so i'm adding 500 calories per day to my total. (My son was tongue tied and didn't latch well, so I pump instead :) ) In total every day i'm eating roughly 1800 calories. Prior to joining here and asking others on this…

I'm 5'8 and 194 lbs. would like to get to 160. I was 145lb four years ago when i got married, but two kids later, i'm not sure that's still possible! feel free to add me, it's nice to have someone similar to you for support!

what an inspiration you are! i am currently a 18, and would love to be an 8! I hope I can follow in your footsteps!

mine typically consist of (this gives me two servings): 1 cup of spinach 1/2 cup of kale 1 cup of frozen berries 1 banana 1 advocado 6 canned peach slices (I can my own, they're in a VERY light syrup) water to thin to desired consistency the fruit completely masks the taste of the greens, and the banana and advocado make…

I was able to add an extra 500 calories for breastfeeding to my daily total. Thank you for the help! I don't want my supply to diminish, but like having a general guideline of how much I should be eating in order to lose weight while nursing. I didn't lose much weight at all with my first child while nursing.
