I was wondering the same thing. Rigger

Eventually you die. BMR is the ammount of calories you need to sustain life if you were in a coma. It is the absolute minimum your body needs to maintain basic functions. Your hair will start falling out, organs will begin to shut down, and if it goes on long enough, you die. Rigger

I agree with the OP, if you have time to eat, and sleep, then you can make time to exercise, otherwise you are just making excuses. Rigger ETA for spelling.

None of that has any bearing on reality, and doctors are typically poor sources of nutritional information in my experience. Skipping a meal or even two every day won't make any appreciable difference in metabolism. Breakfast size or even it's inclusion has no bearing on overall health, number of meals, or how often they…

I don't mess around with knees, I have seen them go and wondered what exactly happened to the poor guy, it can be the slightest movement on the slightest of a misaligned joint and for some reason they just go. I'm also not the type to go to the doctor, so, it's a toss up for me. Rigger

Front squats, deadlifts, and pull ups are my favorite ab exercises, Pushups are good too, but mainly work your hip flexors. Rigger
-
Yes, you can, and I do, but like any other exercise in the database, it's not very accurate. Rigger

What are your goals, calorie deficit is all that's needed for weight loss, cardio is good for cardio, and it does help create a deficit. Really, you're moving more than you otherwise would, so I don't see how that's a bad thing. Not sure about waving your arms around, what's the purpose of this? Rigger
-
Honestly, Maintain a calorie deficit, that's really all that's needed, and for what it's worth, that stuff is dangerous, I wouldn't take it even if my doctor recommended it. Rigger

If correcting peoples misinformation makes them feel stupid then maybe they shouldn't be on an open forum. For what it's worth, I think both of you ladies handled the corrections quite well, so I don't see why you think any of these comments are belittling in any way. Rigger

Toning is a buzz word that basically means nothing, unless you think that after a good lift your muscles produce an audible tone as they quiver (I checked, mine don't.) You can build muscle via bulking, and you can reveal muscle definition via cutting, but "toning" is an absolutely meaningless term, and it's ongoing usage…

No, but I still log it. Rigger

Foam rolling and stretching help quite a bit. Rigger

I log everything, gum, Advil, Diet Coke, EVERYTHING. Rigger

Because they peddle this crap and they're looking for a new customer pool. Rigger

For a third time NO. Breakfast doesn't jumpstart, or kick start anything, it is not necessary, there is absolutely nothing wrong with skipping breakfast. Rigger

Bulk to build muscle, cut to reveal said muscle. You need to bulk, get comfortable with the fact that this means adding some fat with the muscle, and then after a nice long bulk, cut, and you'll be lean. If you're afraid of putting on fat, and only eat 1K daily then you need to see a specialist because you have a pretty…

Cut fat, build muscle. You can't really do both at the same time, but I would start cutting, and get well acquainted with a bar bell. Deadlifts and front squats are great for the core muscles, and pull ups are great for the abs. Rigger

You're not losing on 1700 primarily because as you say "I go over a lot" which means you aren't sticking to your goal. Medifast worked, but did it really? You said yourself that you gained it all back. Believe it or not, diets like Medifast have built in failure, they rely on repeat customers like yourself, it is a…

What are we cleansing, and how much does it cost? My bet is the answers are non-specific, and something, respectively, which should tell you something. Rigger

becoming a certified PT literally requires minimal nutrition study, and what they do get is typically broscience. My cousin is a certified PT, he weighs 280 pounds, can't deadlift 315, has not a modicum of proper form on the squat and constantly spews broscience like clean eating and never skipping breakfast. He is the…

None of that is true. Skipping breakfast is fine, I usually prefer to skip breakfast. And metabolic damage takes a long time, we're talking months, not hours, skipping a meal does absolutely nothing to your metabolism, and breakfast does not magically make you more alert throughout the day. Rigger

Continuously for ten months. I lifted a bit in high school and such, but since I started up again (I'm 31 now) I have been going strong for ten months solid with no end in sight. Rigger

Find a sport that he enjoys, that will help motivate him to eat. Also, calorie rich foods, like chocolate milk, whole chocolate milk, show me a kid that doesn't like chocolate milk and I'll show you a future ruthless dictator. Rigger

Yeah, NO! Lifting heavy is even more important while cutting, that, combined with hitting your protein macro is what's going to help you maintain the lean mass you have. Rigger

Heck, if that is the measure then I binge twice a day. OP, after reading the thread I'm just going to ay this, you're young, active, and under weight, and even though I don't know your stats, I can comfortably say that 1500 calories is not a binge, it's a meal, and with your level of activity, it's happening because you…

With a whopping 13 pounds to lose you could stand to eat a bit more, 1200 calories is recommended for women who have a lot to lose, I can decipher pretty easily that you do not fall into that category. Rigger
-
Do you weigh your food? Rigger
-
I agree with this. OP I was almost identical to your stats, I cut at 2500, and am currently bulking at 3500. If I were you I'd try somewhere between 2300-2500 a day. Rigger

Can't lose weight and gain muscle at the same time, and at 1200 you'll be cutting. Now, you can gain strength while losing weight, but building muscle requires a surplus and a lot of effort. Rigger
