My father lost about 80 pounds when he was 75 years old. It's never too late to do the right thing.

You've got this. I'm working on losing weight for the same reasons; I don't want the obesity related health issues I've seen with my friends and family.

Feel free to add me; motivation and support always a good thing

You appear to have a very good understanding of yourself and what you need to do to slowly lose weight. You've obviously thought about it and now it is a matter of simply doing it (portion control and the subsequent weight loss). Good luck to you; you've got this!

I believe that there are many of us who feel this way.

Hello! Feel free to add me. Anyone else need to lose 50 pounds?

This is a very deep question. I hope you learn the answers that you are looking for and that will help you in some way. I think this applies to men as well as to women. As I got older, I had a revelation about my over-eating/emotional eating. I realized that when I was younger and single, I used my weight (via my…

Lose the weight for you to make yourself healthier and happier, not for someone else. I'm sorry your man is saying hurtful things. Relationships are hard enough without the comments. I'm working hard, have lost a lot of weight (60 pounds before and since MFP), and I'm working but struggling to lose more. I log almost…

You can do this! I'm losing weight for similar reasons. I've seen friends and relatives suffer through knee and/or hip replacement that were required (at least in part) by their weight.

I know God exists because I've seen what he has done in my life and the lives of those I know. Because of my life experiences, some of the places I've been overseas and my job, I've seen the very worst of people and the very best of people. Through it all I've seen God answering prayer and working small and large miracles…

I drove up to the drive through at one of the fast food restaurants and the young lady working there told me the car in front of me had paid for my purchase. I was pleasantly surprised and paid for the car behind me. Also, I once saw what appeared to be a homeless man come into a restaurant to escape the cold. One of the…

I'm not not new to MFP and I've had some level of success using the process. However, my motivation (focus) has been lacking lately, and I need to get my mind-set right and to re-boot on my tracking and exercise. I really believe that the encouragement we receive, and more importantly, the encouragement we give others, is…

NE Ohio here. Getting into that old familiar time of year where the sky is grey (gray?), it's dark most of the time before and/or after work, we're seeing our first snow flurries and the Browns are 0-8 on their way to 1-15 or 0-16.

Middle aged ... 53 here. Lost 60 pounds over the past few years (some of it before MFP) and have another 40 pounds or so to go. Anyone feel free to add me. The encouragement we provide each other really helps us to be successful.

My wife has arthritis and gets much relief from turmeric based tablets. I take the tablets and they help, but I had to cut back from the recommended dosage because I was getting heart palpitations at night that I believe were related to the turmeric (note palpitations ceased when I cut dose by 2/3).
