"New Hope for the Dead," by Charles Willeford. What strange and fascinating novels Willeford writes; hard to pull yourself away from them.

Thank you for posting. This is the good example / inspiration I needed to see today.

I certainly think you're correct about the need to be positive and to love ones self. I read on one of the MFP Community Boards about the need to work on our minds (positive, optimism, proactive vs reactive) as well as our bodies in order to be successful in our fitness goals. I think it's all related ... mind/spirit/body.

I can relate with the chain eating. This has been my struggle as well. Stress levels here are through the roof due to sick family members, work stress, upcoming holidays, etc. I'm hitting reset and starting fresh with my calorie tracking, exercise tracking, fitness goals, etc. Kind of a November New Year's resolution and…

Always having to be mindful of choices and always slipping up in little ways (and working to adjust/correct); so it seems like I'm starting over each and every day.

I love peanut butter as well and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a cup of coffee is my favorite breakfast. Also, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are my weakness; I could eat them until I'm ill. I've been sitting here thinking that I'll need to be careful tomorrow night when we hand out candy for the trick-or-treater's…

@Kimmotion5783 Thank you :)

To answer your question .... I don't want to end up like my friends and relatives who required knee replacements, hip replacements, pacemakers and other similar medical procedures related or tied to their obesity. Also, I want to take care of myself so I can take care of others (grandchild on the way).

Takes me right back to the 1970's (yeah, I know I'm old ...) We Just Disagree Dave Mason Been away, haven't seen you in a while How've you been, have you changed your style? And do you think that we've grown up differently? Don't seem the same, seems you've lost your feel for me So let's leave it alone 'cause we can't see…

Hello everyone from Ohio! Leaves are falling and it's starting to get a little cool at night here in Akron. October is my favorite time of year.

Fallen Embers Enya Once, as my heart remembers, All the stars were fallen embers. Once, when night seemed forever I was with you. Once, in the care of morning In the air was all belonging. Once, when that day was dawning I was with you. How far we are from morning, How far we are And the stars shining through the darkness,…

Happy Friday everyone. Carpe Diem!

Hello fellow travelers and Happy Thursday ..... I love that the title, original post and overall feel to this thread is so positive. I sometimes see such negative things said on the community pages. I think I'm finally going to make it back to the gym tonight. I've been working lots of hours lately and traveling to see…

This right here. I would stay out of it as much as possible.

Back home after a few days visiting family in Pittsburgh (Go Steelers Nation!). I'm actually looking forward to getting back into the gym tonight after work for some light strength training. I'm recovering from a torn rotator cuff, so nothing crazy stupid ... slow and steady. I find the 30 minutes I spend at the gym is a…
