First, serving sizes are not the same so while it appears the AJ are lower in calories they are not. The Kashi is a better fit from a lower sugar higher protein standpoint. Try a casein protein shake as a pre bed snack/meal. Elite makes some tasty ones, cinnamon bun, peanut butter vanilla, etc... Slow digesting, filling, and could be made to fit your macros.
