What an inspiration! I'm so happy for you that you managed to push behind the cycle of abuse! That's something a lot of people can't say they've done. I hope you have many MANY more years of joy and growing self-esteem! :D

That's awesome!!!

I HATED running in high school, so much so that my mile time was atrocious and I thought about skipping gym. After college, though, I discovered a few things that made me enjoy it more: -Time of day. I have terrible runs if I run in the morning/during the day, but if I run in the evening, I enjoy it more. -Music. Some…

23, used the site before and was amazed at what a great tool it is! About 10lb away from my final goal, I thought I could take care of things myself, and ended up gaining 8lb back in about 8 months. I'm looking for people that will keep me motivated, and in return I will do the same! Good luck everyone!!!

Today I walked/ran 8 miles. 8/100!

Done!

I'll do this! :D

You know what? This sounds like a good idea. I'll start this on the 1st of the month along with the MYA challenge :) August is gonna kick my butt, but it'll be SOOOO worth it when I'm done. Is there a similar challenge for push-ups?

Going for 100! I tend to run 3miles a day 3x/week, and want to begin to do more.

If you want to add me, feel free! I try my hardest to be as supportive as possible for all my friends on here. I believe in you! :)

Way to go! It always feels great to cut back on your personal best time! :D I'm preparing for my first 5k myself, super-nervous because I've never done a race before. my practice times are coming out to about 37-38 minutes which is a lot better than I would have done even a year ago, but still not great. What tips do you…

Hi Erin! Feel free to add me :) New support is always good! And welcome!

I'm sorry :( It's always the hardest when it's someone we care about holding us back. Add me if you want, I like hearing from new people and I'm more than willing to be a member of your support group!

Way to go! Congratulations on your accomplishment and I hope you have many more in the future :) Such an inspiration!

Since I started a year ago, an average 2-year-old. At the end, I want to lose somewhere between a human leg and a bale of hay. Now that I can control my own diet much more easily, and have more time to exercise, I'm hoping the second half doesn't take a whole year!

Way to go! You look great, keep it up (the weight you're lifting AND the awesomeness)! :)

I think it's okay as long as you treat it as a fun thing, and not as a step towards vanity. Think of it more as a "girly" thing to do. The only thing I would worry about are the fumes in those places...I'm 22 and they still hurt my lungs sometimes.

...when you go to parties, you know you aren't just there to make the people you're with seem more attractive. Been there, done that. Edit: I don't know if this was what you were looking for, but it's been nice to go places and have guys look at me as well as my friends!

I can relate! Feel free to add me :) I'm always looking for new motivation buddies!

I usually do my weigh-ins on Monday mornings, after I use the restroom but before I shower. It's the most accurate time of day, after all! I constantly want to do weigh-ins on a daily basis, but I know it can be bad for me. I see a drop and I think, "Oh good! I can have an extra helping of (insert food here) tonight", or…

I'm in the same boat! Looking to lose 10-15 lbs still, but I've hit a plateau as well. Feel free to add me if you want, even though I'm a new member.

That's actually one of my major summer motivations! I bought a bikini a few weeks ago, and hung it on my wall. Whenever I look at it, I get the urge to work out, or to make healthy choices. I'm somewhat the opposite of you in regards to what healthy choices are easiest for me. Since I was young, I've preferred fruits to…
