Congratulations on reaching your goal! Take a screen shot of your ticker so you can always remember this feeling. :flowerforyou: What was your secret to staying motivated?

I had a slight binge earlier this week and didn't workout for two days. I felt so sluggish. I got up this AM and did a quick 20 minute workout. I find that when you've fallen off the horse it's good to start your morning with at least a little workout to get you motivated to be healthy all day. Hope that helps…

BUMP for my friend @sharper43 She was just talking about that. Hope it helps :-)

Well that's terrific! It's so great to have a partner to be on this journey together. Best of luck!:flowerforyou:

Classic. I see this all the time especially in Kathy Smith's Aerobox and Bob Harper's Inside Out Cardio DVD. Artsy artsy.

Enjoy! Make sure you get in your water today to counteract the sodium you'll be taking in

Everyone here is saying that you should stay working until you find another job and I agree. I'm currently in the middle of a career transition as well. I think it's important to treat your career search like a part time job. If you're really serious about moving jobs you should put 2-4 hrs in daily and even more on the…

I don't know you at all but reading this post made me tear up. I'm so proud of you! Weight is a side effect of your lifestyle and it's obvious that you've made a LIFESTYLE change and that's the most important thing. Keep up the great work! :flowerforyou:

Awww this made me smile. I love the people on MFP. :flowerforyou: Hats off to you for being so nice!

Super co-sign on these posts my mom and dad always comment on my weight loss and eating habits. When I really started gaining weight I would buy a pizza and throw away the box and put the slices into tupperware containers to get them in the house undetected. It was bizzarre but it was the only way I could eat pizza w/o…

What a brat! Maybe I'm a little selfish but every time one of my co-workers complains about me cooking tilapia or broccoli I smile politely and say "I'm sorry that my being healthy bothers you, but honestly, I just don't care."

I love the week-ends because I have more time to prepare healthy AND delicious tasting food. working with food is almost as fun as eating it. I do my prep work on Sunday nights

"Make it a great day or not, the choice is yours." ~Anonymous You can choose to make the rest of the week your best Thursday- Saturday ever. I know it's not easy to "just stop stressing" but it is easy to put MORE energy into your workouts because you are stressed. And you can always take control over what you put in your…

3 Tips 1.) Buy in bulk then ration out your portions in ziplock bags. This is especially useful for buying lean protein. It's always much cheaper in bulk. 2.) Buy your grocery store brand's frozen veggies. They taste the same and they are often not seasoned so you don't have to worry about those sneak-a-boo calories. 3.)…

taso42 & puggleperson are right! When you eat fewer than 1200 calories then your body goes into starvation mode. It starts storing everything you eat which makes you gain weight. Not a good look. As someone who also tries to exercise about 1 hr. everyday I never eat fewer than 1200 cals and I usually try to eat about half…

There's a fair amount of debate back on forth on whether or not to eat the exercise cals. Regardless of if you choose to eat all of them, you should never eat fewer than 1200 calories because then your body will go into starvation mode and store everything you eat, causing you to gain weight. I usually eat back about half…

Great job sticking with the shred! Sounds like you overcame a mental road block and now you can do anything you put your mind to!!!!:flowerforyou:

I'm still pretty new at logging on MFP but I typically eat all day long. My cal limit is 1200 (w/o exercise) so I usually have a 300-400 calorie bfast and lunch w/ 100-200 calorie snacks between them and 200 cals or so for dinner. Your nutritionist is right, he wants your metabolism to stay up all day and the two ways to…

An entire medium pizza in one sitting on Valentine's Day and honestly... many other days. smh. :embarassed:

You can do it! Be patient, you'll get it. Don't weigh yourself everyday. It's always very discouraging to me to learn that I haven't lost weight. It makes me highly suscpetible to a binge. For that reason, I only weigh myself once a week. For you, maybe you should take a break from the scale for a bit and keep up your…

I'm still new to this, this time around, but I've had a lot of success before. I typicallys strive for the following: 2-3 servings of lean protein (usalted nuts, eggs, low sodium sliced turkey or chicken breast, lean ground chicken or turkey, chicken breast, white fish- tilapia, flounder, and whitening) 4-5 servings of…

@ Mom71 I feel the same way! I started MFP about a week ago but I'm scared to weigh in. What if I haven't lost any weight? I was going to weigh in for the first time on Tuesday but I think I may push it another week. I don't want to be disappointed and quit

I did Bikram "hot" yoga for the very first time today. It was a 90-minute class. I'm not sure how many calories I burned but the endorphins after the class were absolutely amazing. I plan to continue doing it and just continue a deficit in my calorie: exercise ratio. We'll see. My very first weigh in since joining MFP is…
