I have a herniated disk, have had since before I started loosing weight, hasn't stopped me from eating right AND exercising and loosing 120 lbs! Your physical therapist will show you what exercises you can and can't do, and remember to listen to your body and go slowly, otherwise this should not be an excuse not to…

Seriously? Ridicule? I didn't shave anything for many many years. I regularly wore tank tops and cut-offs, so it wasn't a mystery. I only once had someone mention something to me, and she was very polite and respectful about it, and her only concern was hygiene. I agree, hygiene can be in issue when someone lets their hair…

I have two... one has to do with weight, and the other has nothing to do with weight. 1. On my wedding night, (keep in mind I am very religious and had never even shook my husband's hand let alone hugged him before marriage), my husband hugged me for the first time ever and he made this wonderful sounding sigh and said…

I've found that if someone's going to get offended if I don't eat their food it's their problem not mine. I will simply say "No, but thank you very much for the offer" and if they offer a second time I say "No, thank you" and if they offer a third time I say "I already said no thanks, please don't ask again". If they get…

I'm on the west coast of Canada so iftar here is around 9:20 and Suhoor ends at 3am or so. So I don't have a lot of time to work out, but I'm still tracking my calorie intake. I try my best to stick to the sunnah and eat a very light iftar anyways, I avoid heavy foods and find my calorie intake is under my daily limit…

For easy lunches I like wraps or salads. Pick a theme and add in whatever you like! If you eat lettuce you can do lettuce wraps instead of using tortillas. For the veggies, try hiding it. Do mashed potatoes and mash in some steamed/boiled cauliflower or turnips, try doing 50/50 potatoes to other white mushy veggies. I do…

That's wonderful! I hope you learn a lot with your time of fasting. Your pre-dawn meal should be something that will stick with you for a while. I really enjoy oatmeal, and mix in some dates and hemp hearts. When you break your fast at night, try not to overdo it at first, have a few dates and a glass of water, then wait a…

But if I want to enter under Strength Training for example "abdominal crunches - 5 sets - 20 reps per set" it doesn't count towards my weekly fitness goal or calories burned?

Walaikum Salaam wa Rahmatullah Ramadan Mubarak! I have changed my settings for the month of Ramadan and set Iftar to be my first meal of the day, then two small pre and post Taraweeh snacks, then Suhoor to be my last meal of the day. I even changed the names of the meals on my account to make it easier, when it…

Yep I do measurements and stuff too, I was just curious as to how often I can input my weight. I used to use the WW website, and you are not allowed to weigh in more than once/week there. I usually don't take my body measurements very often though, I give it a few weeks between measuring so I can see a difference each…

I personally find it difficult to sleep if I eat directly before going to bed, that's why I avoid it. but everyone is different, every body will react to different foods in a different way so just pay attention to what your body is telling you. If you find it hard to sleep right after a meal, like me, then try giving your…

Thanks! I'll probably weigh in every day too. I find it very useful to see my fluctuations and keep track of which foods bloat me. I know some recommend only weighing once/week, but I find if I weigh every day I control the scale, the scale doesn't control me.

Assalaamu Alaikum Sister Remember, this blessed month is all about fasting, not feasting, so stick to the Sunnah and eat light. Try and stick with soups for iftar, and oatmeal and fruit for suhoor. After you eat suhoor and pray Fajr you can stay up and read Quraan for a little bit so you're not going to sleep directly…
