  • Hit 24 pounds lost this morning. One to go until I told myself I’d buy new pants. I hate shopping so it’s not really a reward 😂😂. However, it will be nice to be able to put my phone in my pocket again—my pants are so loose, the weight of the phone pulls the pants off 😬
  • The think I’m having the most trouble with is potassium—so many of the foods that are high in potassium have too many carbs 😒. What are some of the things you find work best to up potassium?
  • Mine so far have popped up as zero calorie. I don’t log them for calorie count, though, I record so if I can’t remember if I took it I can check my log 😬
  • I grew up in the Midwest! Moved to the southwest, back to the Midwest, and now I’m back southwest again lol. My husband lived in one state his whole life and then he met me and I tend to wander 😁
  • I spent the first half of my life super skinny, unhealthily skinny. Went to the doctor, got diagnosed with hypoglycemia and the “treatment plan” was a very rigid diet meant to stabilize my blood glucose. It worked—when I followed it exactly, no fainting, no blood sugar drops that left me confused and weak, no blacking out.…
  • My youngest, my fourth, just turned four :) I need to lose 70 pounds twice lol. Twenty-five years ago I was so slender my clothing gave me bruises where it rubbed up on the bones—my “treatment plan” caused me to steadily gain. I have lost count of the times I’ve heard from doctors “better to weigh too much that not enough!…
  • For water, my goal is to hit a minimum of 50 ounces because that’s the point where I typically have very pale pee and that’s what the doc said to aim for :p And I have been diagnosed with water intoxication more than once in the past because I like water and tend to overdo it 🤦‍♀️. So I tend to make myself be more cautious…
  • I’ve been insulin resistant for a long time but my blood glucose has always been fine. I had back to back to back illnesses and was on multiple steroids and antibiotics and my system went haywire. My blood glucose went from fine to so high just one reading was enough to be diagnosed as type 2 in less than a week 😒. So I…
  • It won’t let me add unless I back out to the menu and go to the friends tab and do a request that way 🤷‍♀️
  • I am very glad to hear things are stable for you! In our world, stable is the very best of news! My daughter is turning 8 in September and while she will always have heart issues, she is currently stable :). In the 7 and a half years since her surgery she’s had some setbacks and there’s a few more things to keep an eye on…
  • My daughter was in congestive heart failure as an infant (caused by heart defects—she had open heart surgery to correct them and came out of CHF in the months following). She was on lasix which can drop your potassium levels too low and aldactone which can raise your potassium level too high. Together, they kept her…
  • Aw, man, I was really hoping it was the lower scale :p I had a scale that was showing me lower numbers than expected and it turned out the kids had cracked one of the feet and it couldn’t read properly anymore. Talk about disappointing lol. I keep my scale in the cupboard now 😉
  • I hate shopping and have always hated shopping, even when I was very slender—I am not looking forward to clothes shopping 😬. I need to soon, though—I can’t put my phone in my pocket because that little bit of weight will pull my pants right down 😂😂😂. So I guess that’s my guide: smaller pants when I can’t put my phone in my…
  • Coming out of lurkdom to ask which scale was right lol. The curiosity is getting to me! 😉
  • You look great!
  • SW 6/26/19: 326.4 CW: 308.8 GW: 150 At the moment, it’s hard to think of goals since I was up all night sick and my current goal is to keep down the chicken noodle soup I had a few minutes ago 😬 In June I managed to get strep twice and pneumonia followed by bronchitis and all the illnesses and steroids and medications in…
  • My goal is to keep between 50-80 carbs a day, mostly from vegetables and fruit. Any less and my ketone levels rise dangerously high, any more and my blood glucose goes too high :p
  • Is your PCOS causing insulin resistance? Is that being treated? And how? The only time I lose weight is when I’m on Metformin. All the exercise in the world and calorie counting will not drop the weight without it (except when I’m pregnant—I lose steadily the whole time and for a few months postpartum and then gain it all…
  • I’ve been a SAHM since my second was born—he’s 10 now! I have four kids now and my youngest just turned 4 :)
  • Do you check your ketones? If my carbs are too low, my ketones go up to “seek medical attention” levels and all I think about is bread ;-). For me, I need to be between 50-80 carbs to maintain the right level of ketones. I’m inadvertently keto, though. A recent bout of strep and pneumonia threw my system completely out of…
  • I just had #4 3 months ago and I actually went into delivery less than I started at--I tend to slowly lose during my last three pregnancies. However, the weight I gained during #1 and between 1&2 is still hanging around :/. In the last three months I've dropped almost 50# and I just need to keep going! I want to get below…
  • I started with about 150 to lose--I'm down almost 40 so I'm about a third of the way there :)
  • I mostly drink ice cold water with lemon. I usually have a cup of coffee or two in the mornings. Sometimes I have unsweetened tea with lemon (I do NOT like sweetened tea. At all. The only time I sweeten my tea is if it does not taste good but I'm thirsty and it's all I have LOL). Soda is an occasional thing for me--I do…
  • I never lost the baby weight after my first but I came out of the hospital with my second and third smaller than I got pregnant with them so I'm not sure I can call it baby weight anymore--my oldest is 8 now so those extra pounds have been around far too long. I"m going to label it "hospital stress weight!!" My youngest is…
  • Seconds. My Dad threw a BBQ tonight and made all my favorites :p I really wanted more because it tasted so good and it will be a while before I have my Dad's cooking again but I wasn't hungry anymore. I would have enjoyed the taste but not the overstuffed feeling or seeing my food diary go in the red so I passed :p
  • I like hummus with carrots :) If I'm making it part of a meal instead of just a snack, I like to spread it on a spinach wrap and roll it up with lots of veggies/lettuce
  • You can add me, too :)
