SW 6/26/19 326 Oct SW 283 Oct GW 278 I am hoping for cooler weather so we can go walking and play at the park without worrying about heat stroke 😬

I tried adding you but got a weird error message with just a bunch of numbers in it! If the invite didnt go through, feel free to add me :)

I got really sick over the summer (viruses, strep twice, pneumonia, bronchitis) and my blood pressure went from fine to stroke level (so did my blood sugar. my body forgot how to work apparently 🤷♀️). I had to go on multiple medications immediately and spent the first two months miserable from both medication side effects…

Some of my favorite things don't work with the way I eat now but I don't want to forever give up things I enjoy so I strategically plan for them. I'm low carb to keep my blood glucose in check and so this is a longterm lifestyle. But that popcorn at the movies last week when my husband and I had a date alone for the first…

The last few have been rough here, too. I held steady for a bit, which was fantastic because eating was off and I thought for sure I'd gain. But I tried to stick with my carb and calorie goals even when grabbing takeout and I managed to maintain 😊

Thanks! I hit 40 this morning 🤗

Very nice!

@mnwalkingqueen I'm so sorry about your dad :( A good source of low sodium protein is nuts and seeds that are unsalted. I eat a lot of salad and unsalted sunflower seeds or walnuts on top replaces the crunch of croutons while helping me hit my protein goal. Plus they have the good fats. Also cooking from whole ingredients…

I'm low carb to keep my blood sugar under control :)

I started tracking as a way to stabilize my blood sugar so I could see what types of food kept it from spiking. Weight loss has been a side effect of that 🙂

I’m a SAHM but have special needs kids so I spend a LOT of time taking them to appointments and therapies and there are plenty of days I need food for all of us that we can graze on because we may not be able to fit a meal in between appointments if one runs long. I can portion out into a divided container and log mine and…

@cjbrummet Your granddaughter reminds me of my oldest son at that age. My Dad took him for a bike ride and he complained the whole time 😂 it was boring, it was too far, it was too much work, etc etc. But ODS (older dear son) has ADHD and we gave him a choice since it was summer—bike ride with Grandpa because the exercise…

If you graze, I’d plan for that—portion and log “grazeable” foods to bring with you and then you don’t have to worry about logging them as you go. Prepping and packing doesn’t mean it has to be a “meal”—a variety of healthy things you can graze on works just as well!

September goals: More walking! Kids had a lot of appointments last week so I only made it for one long walk (I’m trying to go after they get on the bus before it gets too hot) Get physical therapy. I have an old knee injury (severed my ACL 8 years ago in October) and over the years orthos have basically shrugged and said…

291 this morning!

The last few days have been pretty bad here—the mental and emotional energy to deal with everything happening is so draining 😕

I’m about 32 down, another 100-150 to go. 100 will put me back in the 100s and I’ll keep losing until I hit the point where my 1200-1400 calories I typically eat gets me to maintaining instead of losing 🙂

I also have hEDS—almost eight years ago I also severed my left ACL so my knee is even more unstable now—makes it hard to get around!

I’d like to join :)
