  • Very nice post Less. I love number 7. I have a nice suit that is now to big for me so its the same feeling only backwards.
  • Downton Abbey and glimpses of the olympics!
  • I need to lose 313 pounds, I am down 75 pounds so far. Low Salt, NO sodas, No caffeine! Limit my starches and watch out for cookies lurking in the shadows trying to attack my taste buds. Try to stay as close to 1200 cals a day as I can. Exercise regularly and be HONEST with myself. My diary should be open. Some days I eat…
  • My diary is set on 1500 but I honestly am trying to do 1200. Thats what my nutritionist has requested. Lots of veggies and moderate everything else. I was doing very well but this last week has been rough. Feel free to check out my diary. I also try to exercise at least 1 hour a day.
  • I weigh in every day as per my nutritionists orders. But if I gain its no big deal to me, stuff happens. Right now I am up 5 lbs because I cannot go to the bathroom. No big deal, in time this to shall pass. I hope! Do what ever you want because it sounds like you want weekly anyway. But for me daily is no biggy.
  • I agree with the book!
  • I too have a fight with the evil sodium! I am very sensitive too its effects. Over 2000 and my legs swell and my lungs feel the resistance. Its a daily fight that I am winning by making more of my own foods like tortillas. Its very easy for me to gain 5 lbs in a day just getting to much!
  • Walmart has dumbells priced very reasonable. Pick up 2, 3 or 5 pounders and watch some youtube to get some ideas. I do a routine that includes super 7's. light weights and lots of reps ='s strength.
  • I recently asked my nutritionist what was the lowest amount of daily sodium to eat. She said that as far as she knows there was not a low level set. I eat lots of veggies like celery, carrots and such that are high in sodium so never have a problem with low but seldom go under 1000.
  • I am in the MOVE program with the VA. We weigh ourselves daily and it has a computer link that records it with my dietitian. I also weigh myself again sometime just to see how i respond to sodium and such in my diet. I have some serious health problems and the numbers help me keep track. It NEVER gets me down if it goes up…
  • Do not eat back your calories and you would be okay. I never have believed in EATING back what I am trying to get rid of. I just attended a 2 week weight loss program with several registered dietitians and doctors and they all agree. Now they have me on 1200 for two weeks then up to 1500. It is a BALANCED diet with NO…
  • Snoots got it right. Shoot if all I worried about was the final goal of 180 I would curl up and cry like a baby. Take it one step at a time. Look how far others have come and realize that if they can do it so can you. Then grab hold and enjoy the ride. Yes it can be fun losing this weight, we had fun putting it on so enjoy…
  • Making your own vegetarian meat is also an option and is very easy to do. I make chops and sausage and burgers. Other stuff also. Just do a web search and then adapt the recipe to your taste. That and checking out vitamin deficiency should help.
  • Air fried would be the same as if you fried in a pan on the stove top. Its the oil that adds the calories. Just add the calories for the oil added to the air fryer and the foods you are frying and you got it.
  • And I was there then as I am here now. Wondering and wondering just how in the world How? Does a man so large and with a bag stuffed with gifts. Ever get off the ground without causing a rift.
  • Anything from a pig and shellfish!
  • A book I read that helped me understand a lot of foods is called "Sugar Busters" it is about sugar and its affects but also helps understand other foods. Was only a penny and shipping when I bought mine.
  • You really should talk to a nutritionist on this subject. There are a lot of peeps here that think they kn ow more than they do. Also a nutritionist will know about your health history and can make better informed decisions on what will work. I have studied for a long time but what I know is what is best for me and my…
  • Anyone that posted a negative comment should be ashamed of themselves! A person opens up and shares and you all trash someone that was special to them. SHAME ON YOU!!
  • In July I could not walk 100 feet. Last month I did 2 miles. Guess I need to hit the road and increase my distance by December cause I am IN! AHTH
  • My recent NSV was this morning when I put on my suit pants for church. Have not wore them in a month. They were loose and baggy when before were snug. Have not lost the weight this month but must have lost some size! :drinker:
  • Yes you can have too much water. also the 1/2 body weight is silly. I weigh 450 and no way i can drink half that in ounces. I do see a real dietitian and a cardiologist also and they want 8 glasses of water a day a for me. Much more can cause me to have problems with swelling. Good rule of thumb is Pee is clear your good,…
  • That there are so many complaints about a site that helps so many of us and is free to use. I understand peeves about some of the butt heads on here, but to rag on the site that helps us?

  • I guess some have a Public Bone but thankfully my wifes Pubic Bone is private
  • I weigh daily with a computer link to my Nutritionist. And there is a motivational message each day along with a fun trivia note. A reason to weigh weekly or what ever your schedule is would be to achieve small goals to help keep motivated. Small victories helps keep your mind happy. Small gains and subsequent losses do…
  • I understand completely I am on a journey to loose 313 pounds. I also eat my feelings. And like others while I love sweet foods I am fat because I simply adore good foods. And my darling wife is an awesome cook. We raised 3 boys and she always made sure there was plenty to eat. Well that equals leftovers and that means…
  • Okay some people will disagree but... sugar is not all equal. Talk to a dietitian. I have and I also have 5 nurses and a doctor in the family that will tell you the same thing. That being said too much sugar even from fruit is still bad for you. Its all about balance. Thats why I have a Nutritionist a dietitian and a…
