  • @shadowfax_c11 beautiful mare, love her color, she just glistens.
  • @SharonAnderegg a truly inspirational story. The love of horses does this to us.
  • @losergood2011 I see you are part of the No Worries Club, so am I!!!!
  • @showjumper - sometimes you have to move on and it sounds like you have made the right decision. Good luck in your search for a new partner.
  • Yesterday I had an AMAZING lesson on my 3yo with my mentor. I don't get much of a chance to get critiqued, I'm usually giving the lesson. I am so PUMPED for the upcoming show season!!!! When one door closes another door opens. My once in a lifetime show partner for the past 7 years is retired (my 9yo stallion) due to…
  • What a beautiful day!!! I gave 2 riding lessons and then rode outside with one of my training horses (3 year old colt with 2 weeks of riding), which was his first ride outside. I had two other riders on older horses that went with me for support and he did amazing!!! Can't beat 50 degree weather here in Minnesota in…
  • Welcome @losergood2011 beautiful horses. I have been asked by many friends to compete in the Ranch Versatility shows, but right now I have a lot of lesson students who show western pleasure open shows. Cowboy dressage sounds fun as I excel at horsemanship and equitation.
  • @luckypony71 great way to chip away at a bigger goal, taking it a little bit further every day. @Here4Cookies yes, the uneventful rides are always amazing and you realize just how far you both have come as a team. I have had the great fortune of riding with Buck Brannaman and Clinton Anderson along with other great horse…
  • @losergood2011 what fun things do you do with your horse? He is a cutie! Here is my 3-year-old project
  • I do a lot of core workouts mixed with cardio and weight lifting. Mixing it up causes your muscles to always be guessing, so your body won't get used to one type of workout. I get this by working out to P90X3 and Insanity Max type workouts. I start a lot of colts and the first two weeks of the month my muscles are not near…
  • @crimsongrey working out sure does help the anxiety of it all. If I don't make working out a priority it gets pushed aside. During the winter I have a hard time getting myself out of bed, so if I miss a morning workout I go at it as soon as I walk in the door from work. This week has been so cold I need to work out. Have…

  • "Small setbacks are not failures, but building blocks." That is great! I am in a water challenge to drink a gallon of water a day. The first few days have been tough, but I hit it today. Better meal planning for me this week for supper as that is my struggle. I'm glad all the candies and cookies are gone at work as that is…

  • I don't usually make resolutions, but this year my resolution is to love my body the way it is and don't think negatively towards my body.
  • Thurs I worked out to eccentric lower, ooooh my hips and buttocks. We are hosting a New Year's Eve family party in the barn, so I'm busy preparing food and games.

  • @Kidostud I had to google what the Nooitgedaght breed was too. Do you run endurance events with your horses or what activities do you do? @OMGeeeHorses your pony is cute, what breeding is it? @crimsongrey your horses are so energetic, typical geldings who like to play all day long.
  • @crimsongrey sorry to hear your horses are sick. My show horse who is our cremello stallion has allergies to soybeans and he had a long fall and couldn't breathe, so I know the heartache of treating your horses. Yes, Riata had 6 male puppies, 4 are blue merle and 2 are black tri's and 3 of them have naturally docked tails.…

  • I try to cook up chicken breasts, tilapia or some type of main dish on Sundays and divide up into meals so it is a grab n' go type meal. My husband cans the garden produce, so that is easy to grab n' go too. I buy California almonds (3 lb bag), soak in salt water for 10 minutes and then lay out on a cookie sheet and roast…
  • I worked out Monday and Wed, ridden Monday and Tues. Wed was my day off, but I had eye appt, hair cut and had to get feed and stopped to visit a good friend on the way home and didn't get home until 10:30. This morning Riata (toy Australian Shepherd) is having puppies, so I'm keeping watch. Once home from work I will be…

  • @sandsarita I would love to do AQHA, Palomino and buckskin shows. I am taking a leap of faith one of my goals this summer is to show my 3yo in the buckskin shows. I can only ride in open classes as I'm a trainer, so we will see how it goes. My cremello stallion (9yrs old) isn't able to show in the palomino shows as he…
  • I'm a receptionist for a medical facility and I travel between 4 clinics. I train horses for other people (including a doctor) and also give riding lessons. During the summer I take a trailer load of lesson kids and show all summer long, along with other families who meet us at the shows, so I can help them also. My boys…
  • @Mouse_Potato I use SSG 10 below, they are a little bulkier than what you use and when it is really cold I add toe warmers (thinner) to the inside of my gloves. I also use SmartWool socks. I usually go to Sierra Trading Post to shop online. I bought myself a Keen boots as I ride in insulated jeans and power core base layer…
  • @cessi0909 Yoga is my go to if I feel a strain or my hamstrings are screaming at me. @moody_equestrian I have never tried kickboxing, but it sounds fun. I have a workout that is called MMX and I do a lot of kicking and punch moves and until I got it figured out I would almost punch myself in the face, but it is definitely…
  • Love the "gift I give myself" @crimsongrey. I worked out early this morning for 30 min. If I wait until the end of the day I don't always get it done. @Snookb276 nice workout. I always go to my yoga workout when my hamstrings are really tight from riding.
  • I'm from Canton, Minnesota, in the farthest southeast corner of the state, where your nose hairs freeze together, but not quite as cold as where @showjumper lives. We just had a nice fluffy snow overnight and I'm getting in the Christmas spirit.
  • Last night I rode 3 horses an hour a piece, but didn't get my work out in, so I'm doing doubles today for workouts. Once it warms up I will be riding all 3 horses.
  • This is my 9 year old cremello stallion who is my all around horse showing showmanship, western pleasure, horsemanship, English pleasure/equitation and trail ride and we love going on trail rides and seeing nature.
