I certainly think it can have an impact. I was able to get pregnant really quickly the first several times, but after my last miscarriage, I put on a lot of weight and it took me 9 months to get pregnant again. On the otherside, some birth control pills are only 99% effective as long as you don't weigh too much. Then their…

What??? Have we time warped back to the 1950's? Don't forget your pearls and high heels when you meet him at the door after work with his bourbon. Seriously. OP, I get you all the way. I also completely agree with the advice to lead by example. You can't push too hard, it will make him angry and bitter. For better or…

I'm currently reading the Alex Cross series by James Patterson. I alternate those with random books I can get for free on the Kindle Lending Library :)

We're very similar, I'll add you!

I'd love to. I need a little extra support!!!

Congrats on your accomplishment. I can see both sides of the story here...I expect my husband to be as supportive as possible, but I also know he can't match my excitement levels when I have a victory. I'm in this for me...as you should be. Leading by example is the best influence we can possibly make with our loved ones!…

We had trouble conceiving child #3 and the doc was adamant, since I wasn't over 35, that I had to try for a full year before they'd intervene at all. I think you're doing ok that the doc is willing to re-evaluate after 6 months. Hang in there!

My own kids keep asking if I'm having another baby. :( I keep telling them no, but it breaks my heart a little every time. And, of course, the rest of me is shrinking, but not so much my belly. Go figure!

Congrats! Any (logical) person should tell you to focus more on eating a well balanced diet and keep moving! I was able to keep working out with my trainer with my last pregnancy to almost the very end. I focused more on eating the right things, this helped me to not over eat. I managed to keep my weight gain in check with…

I can't believe I didn't make this connection sooner! Thank you! I am typically pretty good at getting my water in, but I've been working from home and have majorly slacked off, and so have my losses, even though all else is the same. I will try to focus on this more and cross my fingers that it works!!

I'm in! I'll be walking and cycling! Thank goodness my BodyMedia and MapMyWalk/Ride apps will keep track of this for me!
-
I'm down almost 20 lbs and my waist measurement hasn't moved.at.all. either. Hang in there, as you keep moving along, the measurements will change too!

It looks like all your goals are crazy low. When I've been breastfeeding, I remember well feeling starved. I would suggest always eating AT LEAST 1200 calories. And if you're nursing exclusively add more on top of that. I wouldn't get too crazy with exercise just yet, but would think that 14000-1500 would be where you'd…

I've been working out with my trainer for almost 2 years and I love her. I've spent WAY too much money though. But I go, do what she tells me and go home. It's the one facet of my life that I relinquish control. We always do compound exercises and she focuses on free weights, body weight exercises and non-machine cardio.…

I pasted the links and saw the pics. Congratulations! The changes are definitely noticeable and you look great! I, like you, am not seeing HUGE results like I'd hoped, but the difference in how I feel is tremendous. Keep up the great work!

I find the motivation in the results and how they make me feel. Even the tiniest loss on the scale, or no more muffin top on my pants. I understand the motivation issue. With a lot going on in our lives, its easy to make excuses. Sometimes we just have to fake it until we make it. I had an injury and just spent the last…

Your profile says you're a nursing mom...are you wanting to continue? Losing very gradually should be fine, but anything more than a pound a week will cause issues with nursing. Measure and weigh religiously! I thought I had a pretty good grip on portion sized, but when I got out my food scale, I found I was totally off.…

I've been using my Bodymedia Fit for a couple of months. This is what I see. BMF has my cal goal at 1500 and MPF has my cal goal at 1200 but then increases as I log more activity. I try to sick with the BMF goal of 1500 calories. On average I eat 1400-1700 cal/day. So...I eat back SOME of my exercise calories. I have both…

I've just realized that I must struggle with this too. I have an IUD, and don't get a period anymore, so I'm clueless about when 'that time of the month' really is. I just get uber ticked at the scale. Blah!
-
Have you considered a visit or 2 with a personal trainer? They may be able to help you out a lot!
-
I try to get within 100 calories of my goal each day. Any less, I feel like I'm super hungry and really lack energy. Good Luck!
-
MFP starts me at 1200 calories. I use a BodyMedia to keep track of my burn, and they work together to figure out my actual calorie goal for the day. That being said, I would highly recommend you start logging everything as closely as possible. This will help you get a better idea of what is going on. I've also found that…

My Anytime Fitness location has a few classes! I have a joint membership, so I think it breaks down to about $30/month.

There have been many conversations about this in my house. My husband has been, I never have. I have made it clear that I really prefer he not go. And I will fully admit it is because of my insecurities, not because I don't trust him. Ask me the same question after I've lost another 50 pounds. :)

I'm on my 2nd Mirena. I had each placed as soon as possible after my 2nd and 3rd babies. No weight gain from the IUD, just crappy eating and not moving enough!
-
I totally get it! I have a few friends from real life as friends on MFP, only because we truly share the same goals of getting healthier, feeling better and fixing what's broken. :) Add me if you'd like, my humor tends to be more sarcastic (but I'm working on that).

I think that reaching out for support and telling your story takes a lot of courage. Good for you! If we can support and lean on each other now and then, we'll all see happier, healthier futures!

Me too! Ice cream...yum!!!
