You are NOT disgusting. I think you need to get healthy in your brain before you worry about your body. See your doctor and tell her what's been going on, get a referral to a therapist. Mental health is just as important as physical health. Always remember that you are valuable no matter what size you are, what you eat,…

http://seattlefreepress.org/2013/05/14/the-racist-myth-of-msg-and-chinese-restaurant-syndrome/ From the Knowing Coves: This is the story of a racist myth that began with a light-hearted letter to the New England Journal of Medicine in 1968 and subsequently exploded in North American culture — in direct opposition to every…

monsanto's msg? what? i think you need to do some more research into monsanto and msg. the two are not related. monsanto = GMOs. patented seeds. ruining small farms. MSG = monosodiumglutamate, a food additive that is surrounded w/ myths ...

agree w/ this guy. also, since you couldnt find nutritional information im just gunna guess that 2-5 were not chain restaurants, maybe locally owned businesses? in my experience these kinds of places pay alot more attention to serving quality ingredients, and preparing them from scratch, using herbs and spices to bring out…

wow i wanna be totally ripped like some of these ladies. <3

ive seen precut fruits and veggies in the deli section with little things of hummus or cottage cheese. also, hardboiled eggs, yogurt, string cheese

Some people are making some really great points about calorie content vs vitamin/nutrient content. Definitely something to consider.

What are you talking about? I never suggested any of that. Some one wondered why people have so many kids if the can't afford to feed them, and I merely noted that sometimes they don't mean to have so many kids. A lot of young people aren't getting the knowledge they need to make informed decisions. That's all I was…

I really think you guys are missing what I'm saying here, and getting offended for no reason. I grew up poor, and cook for a living. I live in and gew up in an inner city. I grew up in a family of 7, all athletes. My mom is a blind waitress and my dad is a handyman. Never had health insurance, a car, or a tv. All of the…

@slcrooks34 way to go!

It is idiotic to think that som people don't just have too many kids! Proper sexual education could prevet that. You are missing my point.
-
i think alot of people just dont understand health very well :/ .
-
another good way to save at the grocery store is to switch from sodas/juice/etc. to water. saves a ton of money.
-
you disagree that more sexual education would be beneficial to healthy family planning? that is illogical
-
i mean some people ARE just really bad at family planning. more education would do some good.

freezing things is such a great idea. to make IQF foods just lay what you want frozen out on a sheet pan, freeze and store in a ziplock bag. i do this with whole chickens (buy whole and break them down yourself), veggies, fruits. also, learn how to pickle and can stuff. if theres a really good deal on something i…

oooh i love kale. i sauteed it the other day and it kinda reminded me of broccoli. i like to blanch it and then saute w/ a little oil and sprinkle it with crushed red peppers, vinegar and garlic. and i love sweet potatoes. that is a meal for me, plus some carmelized onions. im not a huge fan of meat, and mainly just eat…
-
maybe i misunderstood you, but it sounded to me like you were saying that there is more value in potato chips and soda than that woman's entire bag of groceries. that is were i took issue.
-
i think i stated before that i was previously on welfare. i know what being poor is like. buying groceries that are healthy is not impossible on a fixed income. 3 bags of chips and a bottle of pepsi will not last as long as a bunch of kale, sweet potatoes, and a roast. a whole chicken and a handful of vegetables + some…

and i do owe you an apology, my intention was not to personally attack you or anyone else on here, sometimes i just get a little too *excited*. sorry about that.

Ohh that reminds me I have a can of code red in the back of my fridge, om nom. That liquid gold is hard to find in the uk.
what is it?
i think it is actually banned in the uk because the dye added to the soda is found to cause neurological damage.

im not talking about you here. im specifically talking about fast food, which i guess i could have been more clear about.honestly, i was just really frustrated by the woman who listed how many bags of chips she could buy for the amount of groceries the other woman bought. haha. have you ever seen a toddler with a baby…
-
this is obviously going no where. eat whatever the heck you want. suck down gallons of mountain dew code red and sop up your dribble with volcano tacos. i dont give a dam. pay some greedy corporation millions of dollars to give you colon cancer and make you stink up buses with the aroma of hormonal ecoli filled factory…

OMG this is so frustrating. i didnt say that healthy people dont get sick. read what i wrote again and maybe you will understand what i was trying to say.
-
have you looked in to wellfare? seriously not a joke. access to food is a basic human right, and if you are literally starving because you cant afford to go to the grocery store, then you probably qualify for food assistance and should take advantage of it. i work for people w/ these issues. i can serve a meal for $2.13…

but you have to think about more than just weight loss. diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer and other more or less severe chronic illnesses are directly linked to super processed junk. i wonder if heart disease is more or less expensive than a bag of apples?
