Just get a good plan and lots of support buddies. It really is a journey. You can chose to enjoy it or make it really difficult. Don't set you milestones too high. Small steps will make it easier.

Gloves, weight belts or a bag to put all his gear in?

Squats and more Squats! Then lunges! Fun stuff!

I just happened to search this out today to see if I was the only one in the ckd boat. It is nice to see that I am not. My gfr runs around 50 and has been stable for years so I have maintained at stage 3. Mine was caused by uncontrolled high blood pressure so I watch that very carefully. Does anyone know if this disease…

I have a running buddy that helps keep me accountable 4 days a week. I make sure the coffee timer has been set so it is easier to get dressed and go. No time for hair or anything but when you hit the pavement at 5:30 it doesn't even matter. As far as motivation it comes down to keeping your eye on the goal. Before long it…

I didn't know about the October challenge. I just came off of a corporate challenge and want to at least maintain my 13K steps per day average. This sounds like a great way to do it. Do I just log them and post them by week or month?

Would be happy to help. You can add me.

I log daily as well and am definetly unique! Not real good at blogging yet but a good encourager. You can add me. I need friends that respond!

I find Crossfit challenging, exhausting but great at the same time. Sometimes I don't think I can finish but I do and that is a great feeling. Just pay attention to the trainers and use good form. Don't think you have to compete with someone who is at an entirely different level than you. You will work up to max levels…

Friut has other benefits over protein bars such as fiber which a body needs. Eat the fruit with some almonds and you should be set.

Home made turkey, veggie and rice soup with whole wheat crackers and a tomato with cucumber salad. Grapes and pear for my snacks.

As the rest have stated, meds are key. There are several options and getting the right one with the right dose can take a little time. In the mean time eat a lot of fruits and veggies to assist with your metabolism issues and you should start seeing results slow but steady. Good luck.

Maybe if you think of excercise in a different light you will feel more motivated to try it. Excercise boosts my mood with the flood of endorphins and the inches I loose make the weight I have lost look like a lot more? Something like that works for me but we all have to find our way. Good luck and congrats on the 25 lbs.

Hi I'm 60 and on the same journey! Of course I will be your friend!

Hi I'm a newbie to this group as well. I stumbled on these posts and really felt at home. I'm 60 and pretty active but still need to lose another 10 lbs. My work out group is in their 30's-40's and are still fit and trim with very little struggling! AHHHH! It is nice to have other ladies I can relate to!

Good info! Marking my place.

I log all of my planned excercise. I use a HR monitor so I know MFP underestimates all of my workouts. I use MFP defaults and set my calories on sedentary and usually eat back my activity calories.

It's only been 5 days if I read this right so you could be gaining a little muscle. Check your calculations again. I am not sure if you are eating back your excercise calories but you may want to think about that as well. You don't say how much you are gaining but watch your sodium as well. If you are retaining water it…

I have been doing Crossfit for 2 years. I was the oldest and the most out of shape when I started. Right now I am still the oldest but can really give the younsters a run for their money! I love it! It is a great feeling of accomplishement, stress relief and am really proud of what I can do now.
