  • Put the scale away. Weighing yourself every day will just make you crazy. Lots of reasons why you might be fluctuating right now, stop stressing over it. (stress causes weight gain btw). Eat healthy, drink lots of water and exercise and only weigh yourself every ten days or so and as close to the same time as you can each…
  • Body brushing is great! I bought a brush off Amazon that has a contoured handle so I can brush my back as well. It's supposed to also help reduce cellulite - haven't been brushing long enough to notice a difference yet but it's worth a try. There's youtube videos on the best way to body brush to get the maximum benefit…
  • I wont need to go shopping if I get down that skinny - I'll be a nudist. Congrats on the weight loss, that's really awesome.
  • I totally agree. Whatever your goal is can be achieved with a little hard work. Some goals are easier to reach than others but we all need to have goals to strive for. My goal is to be under 300 pounds by Halloween (that's 40 pounds to lose between now and then). My ultimate goal is to be under 200 pounds by my birthday…
  • Canton / Massillon area. Would love to meet some of the older (40+) folks looking to change their life with healthy eating and exercise.
  • Whatever you make the night before, immediately set aside enough to take to lunch with you the next day. Also instead of sandwiches try making a wrap. Or make a small salad and put your dressing in a separate container or keep a bottle of your favorite dressing at work (if you're allowed to keep food there).
  • Baby weight can be tough, I never did lose mine and my baby is 21 next month. I couldn't lose weight til I decided to try cutting out sugar and processed foods - I went clean. It's the first thing and only thing that has ever really worked for me - I've lost 50 lbs so far (since March). I also juice a couple of times a day…
  • Sometimes we just need to let our bodies rest and other times we need to get moving to get to feeling better. If you think moving your body will make you feel better, try a light, gentle exercise to start with and see if that is helping or if it's making you feel worse. If you feel worse, call it quits and go rest and take…
  • You can add me. My diary is open. I am not perfect, but getting there. There are some processed foods its just easier to buy than to try and make from scratch or do without (ie. whole wheat wraps and ketchup to name two of them). My biggest goal is to not put any empty calories into my body. I want everything I eat to have…
  • My son loves banana pancakes in the morning before he leaves for work. Very easy to make too - one ripe banana, two eggs - mash all together (he puts them in the blender til smooth). Then treat just like you would pancake batter, they come out looking like pancakes and tasting like banana bread - takes him less than 10 min…
  • I eat clean because it's what works for me. It is a lifestyle change - not a quick fix. Been eating clean since March and don't miss the sugar or processed foods, etc. I think there are lots of ways to lose weight, its a matter of finding what works for you personally. Also remember - Not all high calorie foods are bad for…
  • Drinking lots of water will help with loose skin. Also I agree about doing some weight training exercises. If its available to you consider going to a gym that offers something like cross fit training or MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), those are some really good toning workouts.
  • I just looked at your diary for today and yesterday. Have you considered eating clean? At least for awhile? I was in the same boat you're in, no matter what I did, how little I ate, or how much I worked out, nothing seemed to make a difference. When I gave up sugar and processed foods the weight started coming off - I'm…
  • I'm public. Feel free to check it out.
  • Men have more muscle than women so they're allowed more calories. Plus they usually lose it a lot faster than us women do. (I am so jealous).
  • I usually go over my sugar my first meal of the day and that's because I juice a few carrots and apples together. Its sugar but it's not processed sugar so I usually just ignore the sugar count on here.
  • Congrats on the pregnancy! Sounds like a good plan - keeping track of your food so you know you are feeding your baby the nutrients it needs now. Is your daughter allergic to all nuts or just walnuts?
  • You can do it! If you want to lose inches cut out the sugar and any processed foods you are eating - they are the main cause of our belly fat. When I cut the sugar, I did it cold turkey. I had headaches for a few days but not too bad. I ate fruit anytime a sugar craving hit me - dates when I just absolutely had to have…
  • Rwooten its good to hear from someone with personal experience with Gerson's therapy. I'm not advocating all of it, but I do agree that eating whole foods and juicing a couple of times a day (to get the nutrients) can go a long way to help improve one's health overall.
  • what area of Ohio are you in? I'm near Canton.
  • Welcome! This site is really awesome!
  • Welcome and Good Luck. Cancer is a tough row to hoe, that's for sure. I hope you are able to get your eating habits modified to the point that you start feeling so much better about everything. Have you ever read anything about Gerson's Therapy? Here's their website http://gerson.org/gerpress/the-gerson-therapy/ And…
  • I am so jealous, I'd love to be able to belly dance (if I ever get down to a size that I could belly dance that is). It's always looked fascinating and beautiful to me.
  • Welcome.I just joined yesterday myself. I'm 5'3", 300+. This site is very helpful and everyone is very encouraging.

  • Dates are healthy and oh so sweet! If you are cookinig you can replace the sugar in your recipe with dates - one cup of pureed dates (add a little water in the blender with them) is equal to one cup of sugar. I don't keep dates in the house because I'd eat every last one of them if they were here. They are my go to food…
  • I started eating vegetarian a few days ago, my goal is to try and eat no meat for 8 weeks. I bought a cookbook called "You are what you eat" by Gillian McKeith that is full of vegetarian meals and lots of good information. I don't want to buy the prepackaged processed "Vegetarian" foods, I want to make my own so I know…
  • That's lot of sugar, consider doing some veggie smoothies as well. Or if you can get a juicer (Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juicer runs about $50 online) and juice your fruits and veggies. This site has some really yummy smoothie recipes http://myjuicecleanse.com/category/juicer-recipes/smoothie-recipes/
  • I wouldn't worry too much about calorie counting while on holiday - that would make it too stressful and I'm sure you want to enjoy your time away. Bringing food you know is good for you helps, also when you get there maybe see if there's a market nearby that you can go to if you run low or forget anything. When you dine…
  • Anything but pure water is not water. Coffee, tea, soda, etc are not water - something added to the water has changed it and its no longer just water. The only thing I put in my water is a slice of lemon and ice cubes.
