  • I did 14.3 miles in to work this morning and 18.5 miles home (had some errands to run). That brings my total this week to 83.6. I think I pledged 60-80 per week. I feel good! I'll be out of town without my bike next week, however.
  • Just finished 28.7 miles for a total of 50.8 so far this week! It was 20 degrees warmer this morning than it was this time last week. Early morning rides are the best.
  • Make sure you have input your correct information into the bike computer: Your age and weight. If you haven't the computer generally defaults to a male of average weight. That might be causing it. I find that when I set my treadmill to my information, it generally matches what my heart rate monitor says.
  • I did 22 miles yesterday in the 97 degree heat with my husband.
  • I'm in. I do b/w 50-80 miles a week. The sore bottom goes away with more miles, believe it or not!
  • You can do it! While you are riding, don't listen to your legs. Your legs will always tell you "no, please stop!" but it is so worth continuing. When I started 4 summers ago, I hated to ride my bike; now I love it. It can be such a peaceful form of exercise. I did 27.5 miles Tuesday morning at 6 a.m; and plan to ride for 2…
  • I have a Polar F11 and I love it. I've had it for 3 1/2 years. I had to send it back to the company last year because it stopped working (I was pushing the buttons underwater: a big no no!) and they fixed it and returned it, no charge, within a week or so.
  • Try Gu. I use them for bike rides and for runs. They are about 100 calories, high in carbs, but they don't have protein. They are a gel so easy to digest during your workout. I eat one when I start to feel hungry or shaky, and wash it down with water.
  • I love the song idea, and the song. Good luck!
