4.16 miles today....

I was having that issue a couple of years ago and it re-occurs for me when I don't do my stretching routine every single time I run. I waited too long to get it looked at and ended up suffering a totally different injury. You can still get out there and do some low impact stuff, like cycling and swimming to make up for the…

I've had some problems and rest helps. I now do a couple of IT band exercises that the doctor gave me after my stress fracture last year and it has really helped me: I can now run up to 9 miles without knee pain.

This is really interesting. I always get down to about 124 or 125 when I'm ready for a race but shoot back up to 130 or 131 right after. I think I'll try to up my calories too and see how that works. I sometimes have a hard time eating all of my exercise calories, however, unless I'm drinking wine that is.

Congrats!

HiandTri: I have a Kenetic trainer that I set up inside my house and I do most of my winter months bike training on that. I try to get outside starting in February or March to ride the course. I just started using a couple of Spinervals DVDs that I have and they are giving my husband and I a pretty good workout. As for the…

No running today; I swam and did a hill Spinerval workout instead.
-
Coronalime: Congrats on signing up for your first tri. I was hooked as soon as I crossed the finish line of my first.
-
This will be my 5th year doing tris and I'm looking at doing an IM in 2010. It's nice to see others out there.

I'm training for Columbia in May and Eagleman in June. Anyone else out there training for a triathlon? I'm looking for motivation and nutrition advice.

Lots of Van Halen: Ice Cream Man and I'm the One are best for sprints.
-
Just finished 6.3 miles....
-
No run for me today. Instead, I did 1 hour easy spin on the bike trainer and got in the pool for 30 minutes. Felt good.
-
Good job Tiddle! I did 9 miles on Sunday.
-
Good luck on your race tomorrow, Tiddle. Today was a day of complete rest for me.
-
No run for me. Did the Coach Troy Spinervals Sprint workout instead. I'll run again on Sunday.

I think your weight factors into calories burned.
-
My HRM calories and MFP calories are usually only off by about 10 calories or less.
-
I'm just posting to get there where I can access it and read it later. I'm interested.
-
I just finished 4.16 miles on the treadmill. Did a speed workout today. (Happy Birthday!)
-
No running today: I'm doing a Coach Troy video on the bike trainer.
-
I think this is a great idea and I hope you get some takers.

I did 6.29 miles during Biggest Loser. My next triathlon is in 131 days.
-
I did a Coach Troy video on the bike this morning and I'm running during Biggest Loser.

I had a Polar F11 and I used it for about 2 1/2 years of heavy use. I loved it. I even wore it swimming. It was great for tracking my progress. I found it to be very accurate. The only downside is you have to mail it to Polar to have the battery changed, but it didn't take too long. I have since upgraded to a Polar with a…

How long is the Tour de Cure? I've never heard of the Wild Goose, where is it? I'm signed up for Columbia in May (Olympic), Eagleman in Cambridge in June (1/2 Ironman) and the NYC Tri in July (Olympic). I'm looking for something in August but I'm taking September off because my husband and I are panning a trip to Italy in…

Welcome back!

Hello. I did 7.5 miles on the treadmill yesterday. My left knee (the outside) started hurting about halfway through my run, so I stopped and stretched. It helped for about 3 laps, then I had to walk quite a bit over the last 2 miles, but I finished.

So sorry for your loss, Shore. Hope your holidays and good and I look forward to your return after the holidays.
