Jess that is ohh so true! Im back on track. I have recommitted myself and its already paying off big time. I am eating like its nobody's business but its healthy foods. For some it may seem like too many meals 5- 6, the quality of food is keeping me within my caloric range to finally burn off these last few pounds. I am just loving this.

Good for you! I am recommitted too. I am on a mission to lose 5# by Valentine's Day, I have a bet going on w/ my BIL. I'm already feeling leaner since last week's Chex Mix derailment.

Hi cherapple! I have been "eating clean" since 2006. So my weight loss has been slooooow. The clean eating magazines are great. I love the menu pages and live by them. I do pack my lunch box almost everyday. I am now pumping up my weight loss, or what I call, "healthy gain" rather than weight loss. I want to really burn some fat! I want to email Tosca and send a picture! So anyway, I do love that you post your menus. Have a great week!

Slow is the best way to lose, they say! It took me six months to lose 10 pounds. I've since gained five pounds back, lost it again, and then gained it back again, but that was before I started eating clean. I'm hoping to achieve more consistency now that I'm eating better foods. Closer to spring I'll start really making an effort to lose the last few pounds, once it warms up outside and I can start running again. (There's something about winter that makes you want to eat more and pack on a little extra cushion, LOL!)

What do you mean by "pumping up your weight loss"? Are you lifting weights?

I'm sure Tosca would love a picture. I keep "before" and "after" pictures of her on my fridge, to remind me of what's possible as I head into my 40s.

    Excellent!!!! :flowerforyou:

It's great that your husband is so supportive. My husband would think I was "shallow" if I wanted him to take pictures of my progress. :grumble: God forbid anyone should ever focus on how they look -- be it clothes, haircuts, or body fat. Of course, he enjoys looking at my muscles.

Thanks! My hubby might think I'm a nut at times (ok, I am! ), but he's always supportive. Plus, since I do have a fitness business I need to have updated pictures. I do feel weird *posing* but am happy to see my muscles!!

I have been "eating clean" since 2006.

I've been thinking more about this. So you started eating clean before Tosca's book even came out! That's really impressive, and the fact that you've stuck with it for over two years.

I feel a little funny with my pasty white abs showing in my profile picture (I felt a little naked racing that way, too), but it was 90 degrees that day! And it keeps me focused on where I want to be -- running, and comfortable enough with my body to let it show!

Just finished up my day with my "treat"... 1/4 cup all bran w/ 1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I warmed it in the microwave and it was yummy. The best part is I chose this over the dark chocolate M&M's I had considered first. I am trying to stay away from refined carbs at least until I get the hang of this. I have so much energy eating clean. Nice side effect!

Good for you! It does help to eat some fiber when you're hungry. I try to stay away from the refined carbs... I like to call them *white crack*. Keep it up!

I woke up feeling so great this morning!!! Got up at 6 and got in my workout- ChaLean Burn Intervals. I LOVE this one, it's a mix of cardio intervals and endurance weight training. 45 min of sweat!

    Breakfast:
Usual oatmeal with cranberries (463 cals)

Meeting my hubby for lunch for his bday with his work group. He chose Famous Dave's BBQ which I really don't like (that's ok, it's his bday!), so I will probably just show up for a little bit but not eat there.

    **22** cups of water!!! :noway:

I'm always amazed and envious of others' abilities to drink so much water. I've always had a hard time with drinking enough because I just don't want it. I have to force myself to drink it, except for when I'm working out.

Got any tips or tricks?

I always drink at least a gallon of water a day. I start out my day with 20oz of water (one of Tosca's tricks) and just keep a water bottle with me at all times. I bought my kids these cute water jugs too, they have a little handle and different colored tops so they know which one is theirs. I just refill all day. A lot of times when people think they're hungry, they're really just thirsty.

Thank you for the Happy Birthday wishes!

I started out my day with the gift to myself of a easy mile-and-a-half on the treadmill. There's NOTHING like a good run to make your day! I've stayed away from treadmills for the past year because of injuries after being a treadmill junkie last winter, but I think I'm going to start doing a short treadmill run once a week until the weather warms up.

We plan to go to Panera for my birthday tonight. I can get a nice salad with chicken, and I'll avoid the bread. For a treat, I may have my daughter make me a fruit smoothie once we get home.

Hope your hubby has a great day, Jess!

We all have nice stainless steel water bottles in my family, but I just don't drink it, even if I keep a bottle filled and have it with me at all time. And then there's the insomnia caused by having to get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. :grumble: Maybe I should just start out slowly, adding a cup a day, so that my body (and my daily habits) can adjust. It'll be like the 100 Push-ups thread! The "100 cups of water" challenge! LOL  (Jeesh, for some of you it would take only four days to get there.)

    HAPPY B-DAY CHERYL!!!!

I usually don't have a problem with water since it is so dry here I am thirsty all of the time. I have a hard time keeping my minerals in my body though so I have to take whole food supplements or my potassium gets too low. It runs in my family. I think I will get some oranges next week to add in with the bananas to help boost it up.

I hope you can't OD on fiber, according to MFP I went over by 22 grams yesterday lol! Needed something to soak up the 24 cups of water !

    So here's breakfast-
omelet with fresh spinach, FF mozzarella and a little onion
1 slice of Trader Joe's organic sprouted gain flourless bread
    1 tsp marmalade
1/2 caff coffee with half n half and xylitol

    1st snack will be
Trader Joe's Tortilla Chips w/an Identity Crisis
    carrot sticks
    almonds

I did 10 min on the recumbent bike this morning and will do another 15 this evening. Have to start out slow due to my knees.

    Have a great day!
    Amy
