Nice! And the pepperocini is a plus. You can usually find something spicy in almost everything I cook! A great addition to the salad. Thanks for posting. Keep 'em coming...I need some new ideas to shake me out of a rut.

Look at the steak and potato salad. It's not on the 550 menu, it's in the salad section. It's actually the best calorie count on the menu. They also post their nutrition info online, so you can research. Ironically, every other salad they have other than that one are the worst offenders on the menu.

OK...this is where you see how odd I am that I would take the trouble do this. Actually, I was going to do it as a record for myself anyway. I just added a few steps to post the pics online. I just may want to refer back someday and have this info, so it's not really a waste of my time. :) Actually, I work odd hours, so I…

"out of a perfectly good airplane"...exactly the words I would have used! Made me laugh! Congratulations! An excellent display of commitment and a daily focus on the goals. Really nice job! And think of the future - the health you'll have and the enjoyment of many more years with your sonand watching his family grow. Is…

Can't find your blog. Can you post a link?

Wow! Another person I'd like to cook with! Keep 'em coming. I feel some new experimenting coming on in my kitchen...

Nice! Any idea on calorie count? This looks really great!

I have been doing 1200-1300 calories a day for 3 1/2 months now, with an occassional bump to 1400. I am a big guy (started at 305 lb) and have been able to stay well fed and full, so I know that it can be done. Here are a few tips (and they are pretty much something everybody would recommend): Stay away from processed…

Just be careful of the calories. A potato can easily creep up to about 300 calories depending on size and type, then depending on what you put on it things can get out of control quickly. No need to eat a half days calories in one meal. It's certainly a healthier alternative to some other foods, but portion and calorie…

Thanks for the nice feedback, everyone. I am really looking forward to seeing some other people's pics. That will probably take a few days (I know nobody just happens to have pics sitting around of their food). In the meanwhile, here are a few more of mine. I actually just spent the evening cooking, but NOTHING I was…

You can make them in the microwave easily. In fact, many, many restaurants do that and you don't even know it. I used to run a bagel shop and all of our breakfast egg sandwiches were made that way. We didn't even have any other way to cook them. The container is the biggest variable. Sometimes in the dollar store or other…

You need to change it at the beginning AND the end of the line.

Try making sure that the folder name on photobucket does not contain any spaces. Not necessarily the file name, but the folder name. Then use the new img code. For example, if the folder is named My Fitness Pal, rename it to MFP. Your photo is in a folder named Mobile Uploads. You don't want that space between the words.…

That's the way I have always done them. Cut them and core them similar to making a stuffed bell pepper. Takes a delicate touch but it's worth it (and don't touch your eyes afterwards). Haven't made them in a while, so maybe I will this weekend. Not a fan of turkey bacon, but love the jalapeno. Maybe it will keep my mind…

Exactly! Not only do the veggies give you an opportunity to eat a big quantity, but they are full of nutrients, they don't have the "bad stuff" and they taste great. I am kind of like forest gump with my veggies...stir fried veggies, steamed veggies, veggie soups, raw veggies...there are enough ways to keep it interesting…

There are some really good suggestions on here. One is to go walking. I understand that you are busy and things are hectic, but that's even more reason to do it. Take a walk every day - just make the time - 30 minutes a day will help clear your head, improve your attitude and make a huge difference in your weight…

Honestly, I have just given up on popcorn. Pretty depressing when I think about it. I am a well educated, reasonably intelligent guy and it just frustrates me that I can't read a label and know for sure how many calories I am consuming. I control my calories very strictly so guesswork just isn't in the cards for me right…

So true...and so funny...

I do not eat mine back. When I started my MFP goal was 2100 cal a day, now it is 1600. I always eat 1200-1300 a day. I record exercise as an accountabilty thing, not so I can eat more calories. My body is happy in the 1200 range so that is where I stay. The weight loss has slowed a little now, but that is probably because…

Absolutely! Without the mental aspect, I wouldn't have accomplished anything. This I know from my own experiences. As another poster said, this time it clicked and my head was in the game. That's when losing weight became a priority and that is what set the stage for success. I am not trying to be harsh but let's face a…

Nice job! We are about even here...I started in february and am right behind you at 58 pounds. Looks like we started at nearly the same weight but I am still about 240 - 243. So I know how you feel. You should be proud. You did a great job - keep it up!

I agree. I use it several times a week to record recipes. You just need to decide when you are creating the recipe (doing the cooking) what a portion will be. Stuff like lasganas or soups, etc are easy to determine that on because you can decide how many cuts or how many cups. Tupperware will be your best friend, because…

EggBeaters omlette (1/2 cup) with onions, mushrooms, garlic, red bell pepper plus 2 slices of turkey bacon and a sliced orange. Lot's of food, good for me and only 181 calories.

Really well done! It shows how much we can accomplish when we have the motivation and determination. It's too bad that the motivation came from such an ugly place emotionally, but you turned it to your advantage and that is admirable. You did this yourself and it must be really rewarding to know that you can truly…

Excellent job! I know you must feel a lot healthier and you look great. Keep it up!

Keep playing with resizing the pics. Maybe 640x480. From what we can see, you are doing GREAT! Keep up the good work.

I agree...it's not a fail! It's just a speedbump that you can and will get over. Sounds like your father was very important to you. Spend a little time thinking what he would want for you and set out to honor that memory. I have a feeling that he 1) would not want for you to spend your time down and depressed, rather he…

I can see how you'd think that but you are wrong in this case. After 20 years, there's not much jewelry my wife hasn't gotten. So that's pretty much out these days. I am actually pretty generous and thoughtful. For example, how many husbands have taken their wive's on a Caribean vacation and set up a suprise renewal of the…
