  • Hi there! I'm 20 lbs in with 80 more to go . . . sending friend request. :)
  • Congrats and tis very true! I've been frustrated with the scale lately . . . I mark a new low weight and then a couple days later, I'm stepping on the scale and see I've gained 3 lbs. Wtf? I haven't done anything "bad"! Yesterday though, I noticed I'm almost to the 4th notch on my new-ish belt . . . I was only at the 3rd…
  • Being a stay-at-home-mom I do try to dress for my husband every now and then. I don't like feeling and/or looking frumpy and I'm sure he doesn't find frumpy sexy either. That said, I don't get my nails done or my hair colored etc. and there is NO WAY IN HELL I'd let it strain our finances and/or relationship. I want my…
  • Go. Go, go, go . . . go! Aaaaaaand now! :D Start by throwing the covers off . . . all at once.
  • Thanks for posting! I was getting down on myself for making some not-so-good lunch choices and then I read your post. Thanks for the reminder to never give up on myself!
  • My first thought was to stop doing the shred and focus on regular cardio. The shred is focused on strength training, along with some cardio - hence why you are losing inches but not pounds. Just a thought to try. I personally think what you adjust for the calories is good; I would up it back to 500 if you change to regular…
  • Hahaha! Yep, that book would not sell!
  • Yep, I totally agree. In addition to moderation is key, I believe each person needs a varying degree of protein/carbs etc. For example, for my dieting/lifestyle change, I need more protein than the average suggested amounts - not as much as Atkins, or similar diets, but still more than the average. If I try to eat a low…
  • I bought an Eating Right scale off Amazon. Simply love it! http://www.amazon.com/Eatsmart-Precision-Bathroom-Technology-440-Pounds/dp/B0032TNPOE/ref=sr_1_2?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1357313270&sr=1-2&keywords=scales
  • What the hell??! This guy obviously needs to find a new line of work . . . maybe those people quite because of his complete lack of encouragement. Don't be discouraged; there are places out there that genuinely care about you and your progress. Good luck finding one that works for you!
  • Awesome post! Thank you!! :flowerforyou:
  • Hey, you gotta start small . . . make the putting clothes in the laundry bin a habit and then move on to the next task to keep things clean and organized. Good luck!
  • Congrats! :flowerforyou: I keep chanting to myself "Self control is a muscle, exercise it and it gets stronger!" in times like these . . . helps me keep my focus.
  • 100% honest? There is a big portion of me that is doing it for my kids, somehow it's easier for me to stay motivated when I've got them as my encouragement, plus in no way do I want to teach/enable them to a junk-food-eating-excuse-making lifestyle. However, there is another big portion that is doing this for me - I want…

  • Awesome! Just gotta love those!!
  • It all depends on where you're at now. Most definitely stay active during any pregnancy - unless doctor recommended otherwise. Staying active during pregnancy does help during the birth as well as helping you get back to pp weight after the baby. Breastfeeding does consume more calories than growing the baby (500 vs. 300…
  • Tough love is one thing but the approach is what matters and what makes the difference between hurting and truly helping! There's a HUGE difference between, "Honey, you are fat and lazy." and "Honey, lets go for a walk together." Oh, and like my mom did (mentioned earlier too) telling my I was chubby after she just had two…
  • Oh dear god, it just pains me to hear this! As a newer mommy (my son is 3 and my daughter will be born later this year) it terrifies me that one day my children might not have the best opinion of me, my worst fear is that it'll be for something that I honestly was trying to help. I try so hard to be encouraging and show my…
  • Coming from the other side, my mother raised us to be ultra-healthy. She owned a health food/kitchen supply store for 10+ years growing up and never, ever allowed anything sweet - sodas, candy, sugared cereal etc. in the house. But, when the time came for me to make my own choices I gorged myself on the sweets! I remember…
  • OMG! You are beautiful! Beautiful family too! Congrats on the success!
  • Whatever . . . hen house terrorism or not, it's what we would do in that situation. Also, I do believe there have been more than one guy commenting on the situation, not just chicks. I dated/married my husband between 160-180 lbs. I'm now above 200 since our son was born and he STILL comments on how beautiful I am and how…
  • ABSOLUTELY!!! MFP helped me realize how unhealthy I was eating before; always thought I ate pretty "healthy" but nope! High sodium, high carbs was my norm. Now, I'm using MFP to make sure I get enough food as well as watching my carb intake as I'm 5 months pregnant.
  • Yep, was going to comment on that math but you beat me to it. OP, don't give up . . . it takes time and patience to find the right one. And as others have said, find yourself first before you stress about finding Mr. Right. I personally didn't find myself until I was 25/26, it was soon thereafter that I met my husband.
  • This! I like shopping when I end up finding stuff that looks good but right now, I go when I absolutely have to and dread it. Most of the time, I end up in the dressing room or at home crying because I'm so frustrated with myself! I can't WAIT for the day when I actually enjoy shopping 100%, start to finish!
  • I've been at a stand still since I found out I was pregnant (5 months along now) . . . but, small victories you ask?? - I'm STILL HERE! - My doctor said that I could easily maintain my weight and the baby would be fine, 5 months in still maintaining the same weight (plus/minus 1-2 pounds). - From actions and encouraging…
  • Yep, we do. Although, I must admit that when we get into an argument saying "I love you" is the worst feeling that can come out of my mouth . . . don't know why it bothers me so much when I'm upset with him . . . I've got plenty other issues though. :frown:

  • Well, I'd say I'm in the slow and steady category . . . started watching what I ate to aid in getting pregnant (hadn't lost the weight from the 1st pregnancy). I'm 4 1/2 months along now and that doesn't bode well for jumping categories. Continuing to log my food though and staying on MFP just keeps me motivated once I can…
  • Well done! :flowerforyou:
  • Well, congrats! I'm 4 months along and my doctor told me that I could continue exercising (at the time I was doing the C25K program) as long as my heart rate was 140 and under. Apparently, above that, oxygen doesn't get to the baby like it should. I suggest investing in a heart rate monitor if you don't have one. BUT,…
  • OMG! I freakin' love it!!! Please do enjoy; I've never worked somewhere that fun, creative, supportive.
