  • I read an article similar to that about two years ago...they were talking about how it was actually cheaper to make a deal with a cruise line to do this than it was to pay for assisted living. That's a pretty sad statement on the cost of traditional options! I'm all for the cruise ship idea....if not that, maybe a nice…
  • Well I did learn one new thing from this post....I never knew I could have other people email me their exercise calories so I can eat them....whoohooo!!!!!
  • Just look at the two of you...you are the "poster people" for taking care of yourself and living a much longer, healthier, happier life. It's so neat that you've done this together. Also, kudos to you for the breat implants and other surgeries....you are worth every penny and that's a great reward for all your hard work.…
  • Wow, that drop in triglycerides is especially impressive!!! I bet your A1c that tracks risk for diabetes went way down, too. That is so fantastic!
  • Just restarted this week....5'9" 208...hope to get to 145. The most you can generally lose without massive workouts is 10 pounds per mong (on average). I'm hoping to lose 8 a month because I'm not the most disciplined person on MFP...so that would mean about eight months until I can knock off peoples' socks!
  • bcampbell54 - After carefully observing multiple high level manager meetings at a Fortune 500 company, determined the secret to great leadership....carry a clipboard and everyone will think you know what you're doing
  • Oh yeah....I forgot about Seven Pounds...amazing story!
  • Your frog has hopped half way across your ticker - that's fantastic!
  • You've got some amazing results in such a short time....keep at it and you'll be out buying 100 bikinis all in different colors :)
  • I seem to like gaining and losing the same 15-20 pounds over and over again - know what gets me down the most? When I see a post about a great weight loss and see they started on MFP the same time as me...except they've lost 90 pounds. A little follow-through would certainly go a long way for me
  • Kittygamer...guessed 20 for both of you...you made it too easy with your young faces :flowerforyou:
  • Take it from someone in the "obese" category who never could run for more than a minute straight...it DOES get easier. Having said that, two words of advice: 1) Don't hesitate to repeat a week if you need to...I think I repeated two of the weeks along the way, and week 4 was one of them 2) Once you get to the end of the…
  • Shawshank Redemption and Shawshank Redemption....okay....Green Mile for #2 then
  • I'm sorry to hear about your ferret-losing a pet is an awful thing. Just give them a call and let them know what you're seeing and that you'd like to make an appointment for euthanasia. Vets are very used to dealing with this and will walk you through the process.
  • I can't begin to describe how happy I am that I learned about C25K from the MFP community. Even at a normal weight in my teens and twenties I could not run one lap around a track. I figured I couldn't even think about running until I'd lost a bunch of weight, but the success of other people on MFP convinced me to give it a…
  • Best of luck with your race! My husband and I are doing Couch to 5K and I was telling him about you....he said, "we should go run with him!" We're over in Brunswick, so a bit of a hike I'm afraid! Wish we could join you!!!! GO GO GO!!!!!!!
  • I just found your thread, and that IS fantastic news!!!! I am working hard to follow in your footsteps, and I'm really proud of you! I know how proud I feel just going from barely being able to run for 1 minute to now running 20 minutes without stopping - I would have never thought I had it in me!!! Glad your music…
  • Those little voices can be so tricky and sneaky. It sure is hard to change what they're saying. Keep trying to replace their words with all the things you know in your heart to be true and hang in there! I haven't had the eating disorder issue, but lord knows we all have our vices! We shall overcome!!!!
  • :flowerforyou: Sure, you look great Grandmanita ...... but the best part of you is what's in you're heart....you're always so caring and giving!!!!
  • I read a post once by a woman where she had just run her first 5K and was commenting on all the funny and/or inspirational backs of T-shirts she saw on the other runners. I love the post about "lapping the people on the couch". I know I won't be very fast for my first official 5K, so I think I'll have a shirt made that…
  • WOW!!!!! You look so fantastic!!! You need to fill out a police report because someone stole your butt!!!!!
  • That's a VERY visible difference for 30ish pounds - fantastic job!!!
  • Mostly women who eat few potatoes
  • There's also been research showing people who eat more protein at breakfast will eat less the rest of the day. Keep doing what you're doing, as you're intuitively doing a great job!
  • I just finished W5D2 with the two 8 minute runs and made it through both  When I did it two days ago I made 8 minutes and 7 minutes, so I'm feeling pretty happy. I think I'll attempt the 20 minute run either tomorrow (if I'm feeling pretty good and can carve out the time) or on Saturday. I don't know that I can make…
  • Hi All! @Cutiger that's great that you added more time on. I was so excited about almost making the two 8 minute runs last night. It actually seems like it's getting easier to make the transitions to longer times, which is a good thing. You'll be caught up to me again in no time, and you're probably still running on all…
  • Hi Lori! It's great that your hubby picked up on that! The other day my sister said, "Whoa...big sis is getting skinnier" Don't you just live for those kind of things???? Congrats to you for the NSV - you deserve tons of them because you work so hard!
  • I did W5D1 today in the pouring rain - I was totally soaked when I got home but felt so proud for making all 3 of the 5 minute runs. I really had to push to get through the last one (especially after dinner at a buffet) but I made it  Thanks for the encouragement Fred!
  • I'm glad you're back, but everyone else has gone some place else I guess! I'm starting w5 this weekend and I'm looking forward to it!
  • Agreed...what's the point of saying "people need to get out and walk" and then state that mowing the grass isn't exercise? Sure, a riding mower shouldn't count, but if I'm pushing a mower isn't that walking AND pushing? Cutting my yard and the yard for the foreclosed house next door on a 90 degree day logged over 1000…
