I was also new to running when I started C25K and I'm on w4 now. I highly agree about the shoes. I did go to a running store and got some good shoes (and even a pair of the running socks just for fun-they don't bunch up or slide down) and it's made a world of difference. Also I can't tell from your photo, but if you have…

....and to those of you thinking about C25K that have never run before (and maybe like me, thought you had to lose weight before you started running)...that was me...couldn't even run a full minute without wanting to collapse......but I'm getting there! We can all be like Kate!
-
That's fantastic, Kate! I'm SO hoping to follow in your footsteps! I started about 1 1/2 months ago and am 1/2 way through week four. Work and difficulty breathing after 3 minutes got in the way, but I've got an inhaler that's worked wonders. I can't wait to say I've run 3 miles 3 times a week - you sure did an amazing job…

Honestly, I think these look like mother/daughter pictures when you look at the before/after photos - you look so fantastic words can't begin to describe! Congrats on an amazing journey :)
-
I know this sounds silly, but because running is still very hard and mentally stressful for me, I have calming music on my iPhone when I run.....I always think it's funny when I'm dying and out of breath and it sings to me, "breathe, just breathe" from the 2am song.
-
Wow, that's quite a goal! I'm curious - how far do you run each time and how frequently that you're aiming for 1000 miles?
-
Isn't it funny how those little numbers on a scale can make such a difference.....just think....pretty soon you'll be doing the 100's!
-
You must be so proud! I'm proud for you, and I don't even know you! The weight loss in and of itself is a fantastic accomplishment - but to have done so much great physical activity is really impressive! ......and you KNOW you look SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD in your new body!!!!!! Thanks for sharing :flowerforyou:

I managed to come down with a cold, so I am postponing my start for a bit  However, here are the numbers... Neck 14.5" R Wrist 6.5" Chest 44.8" Waist 40.25" Abdomen 45.75" Hips 44.5" R Thigh 26.5" R Calf 16.5" Weight 198.0 % Body Fat 40.9 It hurts to type numbers that big! Best of luck to everyone!
-
@fattytofabby Thanks so much for your work in entering all this information and coordinating! I'll post my numbers later today. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we appreciate your efforts! I think you can add another 15 calories to your exercise log for the extra typing!

Your are funny, chezkie! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me someday have a "frighteningly garish itsy bitsy flourescent pink bilini" and be able to wear it in public and look as good as your before picture, let alone your upcoming after picture!

I'm glad you asked this. I went running at 8:30 last night as it was in the 90's during the day (In Cleveland, Ohio in May - I must be dreaming) and it was still in the low 80's and humid. I know I'm going to have to work hard at remembering to drink more water. I got home last night after sweating like crazy and it wasn't…

From past reading, people generally track it in cardio. To give you an idea, I do it with my heart rate monitor and I burn approximately 250 calories each time. That's at about 5'9" and 200#, so figure a higher or lower calorie count if you weigh more or less than me.
-
Please add me to the list. I started the shred, but then got hammered with work and couldn't keep up with that and the Couch to 5K program. I want to get back to both full force as it really helped with burning calories. I'll start on 5/31 as I have to be out of town on 6/1 and can't do it that day - that will keep me on…

When I did a search for it using the Bing search engine I did find the entire video on there - it had been posted with some asian writing in the corner, so I'm sure it's pirated :( I'm not too keen on pirated videos (bought a copy at Target for $9.99 myself) but if you absolutely can't get it then I'd try finding it with…

Oh my gosh, you've done wonderfully!!! I can't wait to see your next set of progress pictures! Absolutely fantastic!
-
Those are some fantastic results. maybe in a few months I can tackle a heavy duty work out like that. Looking at the pictures you posted, I couldn't imagine you were ever over 300 pounds....I had to go look at your profile pictures. I don't think the one of you crouching is probably at your top weight, but the change from…

That's excellent! What a great way to cap off your weekend! Congrats on doing so well :flowerforyou:

30 pounds down and less than 30 minutes for a 5K....what a fantastic combination!!!! So glad you did well and had fun!
-
What a beautiful story! It's always nice to hear from someone who went from "can't run" to 1/2 marathon  Thanks for taking the time to add all the details and shar your experience! I'll be looking forward to hearing about your full marathon next time:flowerforyou:

Wow, you understated a bit when you said "some" progress! When I pulled up your pic I thought you were my personal trainer - you could be brothers. Isn't it nice that you've gotten yourself into such good shape that you've been mistaken for someone's trainer?
-
. Okay, I HAD to laugh out loud at that one and share it with my husband...."look like spaniels ears" What a hoot!!! Sagging is worse than the darn sweat. If they'd stand up like they're supposed to there'd be less sweat!
-
I can see clearly now - as the song lyrics say! Your face has definitely slimmed and I can also see a difference in your abdomen. You are really doing well and I understand what you mean about not seeing the difference. I find I can see it quickly at first, but then suddenly I don't notice more changes for quite a while.…

I loved your rant - so very funny! Were they drinking a rum and DIET coke with their chicken wings????
-
Rubie, I'm glad posting on here helped you to feel better. People had a lot of good insight to offer, and I just want to add one two more thoughts. 1) If you're working somewhere, see if there's an Employee Assistance Program - often you can get several sessions of free counselling that way. I do recommend you find someone…

I like the battered woman's shelter idea...that's a really nice thought. I'd add to keep one pair of jeans or pants and put them in the front of your closet to remind you of where you've been and where you'll NEVER be again:flowerforyou:
-
You are a good woman...I ate my whole steak burrito bowl today, but boy was it yummy
-
Oh YES you can see it!!! I looked at the first pic (which btw I'd love to be at), then the second and thought, wow...she really improved.....imagine my surprise when I saw the NEXT pic!!!! I literally said "GEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ" out loud!!!! You have some fantastic results with a majorly visible difference between each time…

Don't you worry...surgery always takes a lot out of you, even when it feels like it doesn't. Your body will bounce back and you'll be running up all those hills full force in no time at all!

OH YEAH! This weekend I had so much work to catch up on had to let my husband mow the back yard and I was so jealous! At least I got to mow the front and the vacant house next door first ! Love those lawnmower calories!
