Hey everyone! I started the www.C25K.com running plan a few months ago. It was very difficult for me to run 90 seconds when I initially started. I felt like I could never be able to run for 30 minutes straight on race day...but I kept up with the plan... My first 5K was Saturday a.m. and I'm proud to say that I was able to do it in under 30 minutes (which was all I wanted for my first race).

For those of you who are trying...keep it up! It really does get easier! I run 3 miles 3 times a week now. Who thought I'd ever be saying that!!!!

-Kate

You go girl! I just told my hubby that I wanted to try C25K (he was less than supportive; I was a heavy smoker until 2 1/2 months ago.) I love seeing posts like this that let me know everyone doubts themselves in the beginning, but pushes past the fear and doubt to reach success. Thanks for inspiring me!!

That's fantastic, Kate! I'm SO hoping to follow in your footsteps! I started about 1 1/2 months ago and am 1/2 way through week four. Work and difficulty breathing after 3 minutes got in the way, but I've got an inhaler that's worked wonders. I can't wait to say I've run 3 miles 3 times a week - you sure did an amazing job with your 1st "real" 5K making it in under 30 minutes :flowerforyou: Thanks for your inspiring post!

....and to those of you thinking about C25K that have never run before (and maybe like me, thought you had to lose weight before you started running)...that was me...couldn't even run a full minute without wanting to collapse......but I'm getting there! We can all be like Kate!

Congratulations!!!!! I, too, am so happy to read about how you have conquered this. I'm just starting on it, and agree - jogging for 90 seconds is still hard. But each time I finish 90 seconds I feel so amazingly proud that it helps me get through.

And for you to run a race - and under your time! That is just so awesome.

Keep it up, and thanks for posting!
