  • For me personally I define binge eating as times when you do things like grab those economy size - big bag of hershey kisses or bag of cookies at the store. When you get home you start with just a few and by the end of the evening you have finished off the entire bag. Same thing with cupcakes, ice cream, or caramels. For…
  • Dannon light and fit greek yogurt and stir in almonds/and or walnuts. Have it every day as my afternoon snack before working out.
  • Definitely eating more often but within the calorie limits and also eating foods that create feeling of fullness. I also make sure I get protein throughout the day and try to at least get the minimum suggested protein for the day. One of my go to snacks is Light and Fit Greek Yogurt and I stir in walnuts and/or almonds.
  • If it is caused by allergies to makeup, food or products you are using try to find out what it is. For sensitive skin Aveeno products and Neutrogena products seem to help me. If rash persists please contact your doctor. Some facial rashes can be a sign of autoimmune illness.
  • I have one annoying person that I work with that used to frequently make snide rude and unkind comments about my weight. Thankfully I have lost enough that she has now had to shut the heck up! Some of my other co-workers do comment on the newer version of me, but they do so nicely. I actually do not mind the positive…
  • I used the bmr calculator on this site and put in my goal weight. That told me the calories needed to maintain that weight. So that is what I have set my daily limit at. My thought is that if I am eating at the calories it will take to maintain my goal weight that it will be a lot easier to get to and then maintain that…
  • I too am an emotional eater. It has been my downfall for many years. I have been at the same job for over thirty plus years. My job can be rewarding, but it is also very stressful and demanding. For a long time when I would be stressed out at work I would come home and hit the sweets and carbs. Since starting on this new…
  • 53 year old that has lost over 75 pounds since July using this site. I am still hoping to lose another 40 to 50 pounds. It helps me to be accountable and when I am feeling discouraged my friends here give me that little extra support I need to get positive.
  • Evil genius at work.
  • Culvers Flavor of the Day Frozen Custard!
  • I have fibromyalgia/chronic pain and autoimmune illnesses. I have been using MFP since the end of July 2013 and have lost 75 pounds so far. If you would like a buddy in this journey, I am on here most every day.
  • I started out hoping to lose in excess of 100 pounds. To get where I really want to be my total loss should be 130 or so. Since the end of July 2013 I have lost 75 pounds by using MFP to track my intake and exercise every day.
  • Inspirational. Hope that I will be able to have as much success as you are having. Congratulations on your one year anniversary!
  • I have three of the Just Dance for Wii. I have been trying to get an hour of exercise a day since starting my weight loss journey in late July 2013. I dance because it is fun, it makes me less stressed and it is definitely burning calories and toning me up. Just find whatever type of dance works for you and keep at it.
  • Exercise until those number turn green.
  • If you have a problem with yeast in your body that can cause fruits and sugars to essentially ferment in your body creating toxins. There is a book called " The Yeast Connection"- by Dr. William G. Crook M.D. that is a good resource and can explain it better than I can. I try to follow the food recommendations and I do…
  • You are definitely not alone in this path to finding a healthier self and having less pain. If you need a little support along the way you can add me. Chronic pain is a struggle for me also.
  • I also consistently have blue time during winter. I started using light therapy to combat the seasonal affective disorder symptoms and it really does help. I try to make sure I use it in the early part of the day as it can cause sleep problems if I use it to late in the day. I found a reasonably priced one at Costco. They…
  • If you are needing low impact exercise that is not going to be expensive I would suggest you try Tai chi. If you have access to a swimming pool that is very helpful. If you have a Y in your area they have flexible cost memberships based on income. Good luck. This is going to be a long journey.
  • Let Her Go by Passenger. Can not get that song out of my head.
  • It can be very diffficult getting in enough exercise to burn the calories we need to consume. What I do is try to get in several five or ten minute sessions of something low impact like Tai Chi or dancing (at my own pace). I have had MG for 44 years. Got it at age 8. You will have good days when you have more energy and…
  • My little doggy (who went to doggy heaven at 17.5 years) used to howl like crazy whenever the tornado sirens went off. She tried to imitate them. My husband always said she must have thought it was some weird dog howling. It was really hilarious. At one point I had mini blinds in my living room which she destroyed trying…
  • I unfortunately have to deal with a major negative person at work. This person is slightly overweight herself, but is constantly making negative comments about other people that are overweight. Several times when a group of us are having a conversation about something she will butt in and make a highly inappropriate…
  • Keep a handwritten log of what you are eating. Just by writing it down it will help you to be accountable for the amount of food that you are eating. You can go back and enter that in the log later when you get back. If you go out to restaurants ask for the nutrition information.
  • The day I learned my older brother had been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. He had smoked all his life. I am a non smoker, but thought about how my obesity was probably going to eventually cause my death unless I did something about it. I started on this weight loss journey in July with the assistance of MFP shortly…
  • You can do it if you consistently track your food intake on myfitnesspal and get in exercise everyday. I started using this site late in July 2013 and am not down over 50 pounds. You will be able to do this if you stick with it.
  • I am having the same problem. Forget being able to have the daily recommended number of fruits because then that puts me over on the sugars. I try to keep the numbers down, but try not to stress myself out if they tend to run higher on some days.
  • Congratulations on your progress. Fitting into a smaller size really can be motivating. Keep up the good work on becoming a healthier you.
  • Fibromyalgia can sometimes make you feel you are losing your mind. I have found that my worst memory problems occur when my pain level is high. I have found some nutritional supplements that were recommended by Dr. Oz and other physicians for chronic pain and fibromyalgia. They definitely help, but do not eliminate the…
  • You are an inspiration. I have been using MFP since the end of July 2013 and am down almost 50 pounds. When I have days I feel like giving up I see stories like yours and it gives me the hope for the healthier me that I know I can achieve. Congratulations.
