You can do it. Take time and commitment to logging and getting some exercise.

If you go to Food Network and search on their website or use the Food Network phone application there you can search for recipes. If you search slow cooker and the main ingredient you want to use or type of food there are a lot of options. My family has particularly enjoyed the Chicken Sausage Gumbo. I switched out the…

I have found I have to make sure I hit my target goals for protein and I try to keep my allowable amount of sugar under the maximum. I also try to really limit gluten. Those things in combination really seem to have helped me since starting this path to healthier target weight. I log on MFP everyday and try to exercise 1/2…

I would much rather have some loose skin than to be obese again. I hope that over time through proper nutrition and exercise that any loose skin will become less noticeable.

I have chronic pain, a neuromuscular illness and more. When I started this weight loss journey in late July 2013, I weighed 280. I would get so fatigued, was not getting hardly any exercise and eating the wrong things. I started logging my foods and trying to hit the right amount of protein, trying not to go over on the…

I try not to count because everytime I do the list seems to get longer. In addition to a neuromuscular illness called Myasthenia Gravis, I also have, asthma, Fibromyalgia, arthritis, chronic back/neck pain from a car accident, and more. In addition to prescription meds for pain, I have found that the following herbs help…

You can add your own additional measurements to the ones that are included in MFP. In addition to bust, waist, hip,.... I measure wrists, ankles, calfs, thighs, upper arm, forearm and neck. As I lost weight. Some weeks I did not see progress on the scale but saw it in some of the measurements. Also you can tell by the way…

I started at 280 pounds last July and have lost 110 pounds to date. You can add me if you want mutual support. I am hoping to lose another 20 to 25 pounds when I am able to really exercise again. (I am currently on exercise restriction).

I started my weight loss journey last July and have lost 110 pounds and counting. The major things that I changed in my life were: 1. Logging all my food into MFP everyday ( I did not miss a day until I was in hospital for three days in July of this year.). 2. I started getting regular exercise. I started out doing what I…

I take a pair of jeans out that were tight when I wore them last July when I was 110 pounds heavier. I tried that last week and actually fit in one leg of the pants. When I feel bummed out and do not want to stick to my nutrition or exercise I look back at where I was and do not want to go back. It is amazing how…

Supplements are a Yes- taking those recommended by my doctor. So called quick fix diet pills - NO! Also watch my daily protein intake and try to meet the recommendations for my calorie intake.

I have been trying to limit wheat intake since starting on MFP last July. I am not totally wheat or gluten free, but I can really tell the difference when I have gluten and/or yeast. I have found a reduction in fibro/arthritis inflammation, tummy issues and mental fog since limiting gluten. I have also limited reduced…

Last July I felt like I would never see the lighter side of life. Topping out at about 280 pounds in mid July 2013, I joined MFP and dedicated myself to becoming healthier.Today I am at 170 pounds. I am not at my goal but am a lot closer to it. I also have multiple health conditions including fibromyalgia, asthma, chronic…

You do look awesome. I have also found that how my clothes fit is a good reinforcement and way to see my real progress. I am not at my goal yet, but I have come a long way this year by logging in and staying committed. We can do this!

Congratulations! A year ago I was 280 pounds. Today I am almost at 170. I hoped that I could get out of the obese category and dream of being in the normal category. According to the bmi calculator on this site I am now in the overweight category which is a huge step. So it has been almost exactly a year since I started…

Having an emotional day and evening myself today. I am currently home recovering from surgery and my boss called and stressed me out today. I can not be there until cleared by my doctor which will not be for at least another week and 1/2. I am trying not to get to blue because I know that will set me off on poor food…

Last summer I had gotten to my highest weight ever tipping the scales at about 280. I suddenly learned in July of 2013 that my brother was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. I thought about how he could not change his life path, but I could change mine by changing the quick and easy and highly sugar filled calories that…

I agree with the person that said cutting out gluten helps. Trying to really limit wheat has made a huge difference for me. About a year ago when I started this weight loss path I also started talking CLA supplement. It was featured on Dr. Oz. It is supposed to assist with metabolizing fat that is stored around the…

Many of us seem to have this on our list of reasons why we overeat. I have found that when I am stressed/worried/anxious I would overeat. Over this past year I have made a very serious commitment to trying to find alternative to eating when I feel those emotions. I have been trying either relaxation techniques or exercise…

I have seen a big improvement in the frequency of flares of my fibro since starting my weight loss journey last July. I have really tried to keep my daily sugars under the maximum suggested on most days and have tried to really reduce the amount of wheat in my diet. I used to have frequent bad days of pain with fibro fog,…

Diet coke is available with Splenda. I switched to it after concerns that the other sweeteners were causing headaches. I am trying to cut down on my daily amount of it, but one addiction at a time. I am still trying to cut out the wheat and chocolate. Very tough to do. Darn wheat seems to be in everything these days.

Several years ago I went to a doctor for back pain. I was shocked and surprised when the doctor told me I would keep having problems as long as I had "too much junk in my trunk" and I needed to lose weight to get relief from the back pain.

NSV - Went recently to a place we had not been in awhile. They seated us in a small two person booth (seated across from each other). . Not only was there plenty of room at my stomach so that I did not feel squished in like a sardine in a can, but I noticed that I could set my large purse beside me on the seat and there…

I was almost 280 pounds last July. I am currently 184. I started using MFP after getting info on it from a doctor newsletter. I was not sure if I would be successful, but have stuck to the nutrition specs here and have tried to get daily exercise. I started with what I could do, which was about 20 to 30 minutes a day. I…

To publish the calorie counts the larger restaurants have them reviewed by laboratory. They unfortunately can not just look up the ingredients and then print them out. They have to show that they are accurate based on the methods of cooking, etc. That is why it is so expensive for smaller businesses. I am not sure what all…

I am 54. I started on MFP at the end of July and have lost almost 95 pounds to date. Feel free to add me. I try to be on here every day to log.

Those Cadbury mini eggs are awesome. I have been avoiding the aisles that have the easter candy because they are so tempting!

Entire box of Rolos chocolate/caramel candy. I think there were 24 individual packages. I was a teenager. It was my first realization that I had issues with chocolate and sweets. Ate the entire thing over a weekend.
