Do it! It'll be hard but you won't regret it. I started my weight loss journey because I had a literal dream about running and decided to make it come true. I started with a Couch to 5K app and worked my way through so I could buy the Zombies Run app. I love it. I run just to run, no goal, no races, just me and my body…

The only powders I've ever tried were ON Vanilla Milkshake - very VERY tasty - and Orgain Chocolate which I can tolerate but don't really like. I don't want to put either one in a fruit smoothie, so I'm open to any suggestions. Please do let me know if you like the Isopure!

God bless the block-quoters. Life makes sense...because of you (and despite the toxins).

Every second time I pull up this thread there's a light mayo ad on the sidebar. Because mayo seems to show up on so many "nope" lists this makes me giggle.

Sweet potatoes. Oh my god, horrible.

I feel like a success story even though I still want to do a little more changing. I'm 46, 5' 10 1/2", started 2 years ago at around 212 and currently sitting around 164. My original goal was 165 but now I'd like to be in the 150s and shape my lower body a bit more. I attribute my initial success to logging and jogging…

I don't know if the OP is still reading but it seems to me she's saying the draw of the Beach Body program is having a coach to hold you accountable (whether or not that's what they actually do, I don't have any experience and can't debate that one way or the other). I hear her saying she's afraid by using MFP she'll "fall…

If your uterus has served its purpose and you're done with it, is it OK to deadlift then? She said with fingers crossed and breath bated?

Sounds like my body type is pretty similar to both of you guys. I'm 5' 10 1/2" and I started around 215 and reached my goal of 165 back in June. I reset my goal to 159--I'd really like to settle somewhere in the 150s--but I plateaued until just recently and now I'm down to 163. I just have a little more flub around my rear…

That's me too! My kids are older (if I can go by your profile photo) but they aren't driving yet, so my evenings are spent as Taxi Mom. I'm not saying I jump out of bed and cheer every morning, but it definitely gets easier and I often find myself looking forward to a workout. Plus there's that bonus of having it all out…

What's more depressing than getting up early is getting to the end of the day and realizing you don't have the time or energy to devote to a workout. (I know, that's not everybody but it's me BIG TIME.) I get up at 5:00 and just do it. It's been 2 years now and it's a natural habit that feels awesome, and not at all…

Woke up one morning in fall 2012 after having a dream that I was running, sad because I knew I would never be able to do that. Then wondered why on earth I thought a relatively healthy 43 year old woman shouldn't be able to run just because she had some extra poundage. Started making a plan that day to start Couch to 5K,…

I don't eat before I workout at 5am, but if I drink too much water during or immediately after I get nauseated. I have to sip during the workout and drink a little at a time after.

Is your diary public? If yes, maybe taking it private will take some pressure off. If it's already private and all the pressure is coming from yourself, maybe you would benefit from talking to someone in counseling about the inner voices that make you doubt yourself. Because in all honesty, you WILL plateau and you WILL…

Sounds to me like you have a very moderate, doable plan now! I promise if you are consistent and don't try to do too much too fast, you will be amazed at what your body can do a year from now. When I first started MFP in July 2013 I was 45 pounds heavier and had bingo wings. Now I can do full pushups and I'm working on…

Is it possible that what you're calling "going well" is not sustainable right now? I find if I try to restrict too much I get frustrated and go crazy. When my goals are more moderate there's less chance of a meltdown. Besides, eating chocolate and popcorn is OK as long as you fit them into your daily calories, so that's…

I definitely had a night or two in the beginning where I bit one or two people's heads off and went to bed because there was no point staying up if I couldn't eat anything! LOL! It does get better, but definitely evaluate the aggressiveness of your goal if it keeps up for too long (only you can judge how long "too long"…

That is a fantastic victory!! And I'm sure there are many more to come. Great work!!

Sounds like every Fitness Blender HIIT workout I've ever done, like, ever. "Twenty seconds?! I can do ANYTHING for 20 seconds!!" Pant, pant. "Wait, my 10 second rest period is over??? What kind of timer is that lady using anyway???" Pant, pant. I love HIIT for indoor wintertime workouts but I'm looking forward to my…

I usually make sure I get a workout in early in the day and eat lightly throughout the day. I used to even save up calories throughout the week when I knew there was a party coming up, but that isn't the way to go for everyone. Then at the party I try to bulk up on veggies and other lighter treats while still enjoying…

I'm considering getting a super short haircut. I never liked them on me before, because I always worried I'd look like I had a teeny head on a great big body. Now I feel like I might be able to pull it off.

I'm loving these. Here are mine. 1. I have a sternum. Huh. 2. My 13 year old son can pick me up. 3. I weigh less than I did in high school. My husband has never seen me this small. 4. The feeling of accomplishment when the first thing you did today was get in a great workout...and you LIKED it. 5. No longer able to claim,…

Taking care of yourself so you're more effective at taking care of others: you're an inspiration! Good luck to you and to everyone trying to recover from the fire.

I'm 5'10" and currently about 164 in a size 10. I started at around 210 and size 16 or 18, depending. The 18s were too big and the 16s were too tight! Back then I'd wear whatever as long as they didn't cut me, but now I get to be picky and worry more about how long they are versus how big around they are! Yay! I'm aiming…

Dang it got dusty in here all of a sudden. :wipes eyes: Congratulations again and again!

I tried after-work workouts and there was always something that preempted them. The only way I can be consistent is to get it done before work and be done for the day. After a year and a half I can say it's an ingrained habit and not hard at all...I do go to sleep before 10 most nights though. All the suggestions people…
