Christmas Story. "A man in a really nice camper wants to put our song on the radio. Give me a pen. I'm signing, you're signing, we're all signing."

I love both running and stronglifts! Are you completely new to lifting? If you are, some of those may be too heavy for you. My gym has bars that weigh 20, 30, 35 and 45 pounds so I was able to start lower on my overhead press. The rest of the lifts I had no problem starting at the recommended weight. I will say that my…

One of the instructors at my gym that I am friends with came up to me after class and said that she had no idea my legs were so huge. I was clearly appalled and she said she didn't mean fat, she meant muscular. So I guess that was a compliment. Another person at the gym told me that I'm built like a brick house. Um…

My son's name is Carter. His dad wanted that name, I wanted Griffin (which I got from Party of Five). Anyway, we couldn't decide. The tv was on when I was in labor. I pushed for an hour - the entire time the show ER was on. Carter was my favorite character and even though Carter was his last name, I agreed to it being my…

Congratulations! You look amazing.

I don't even know you and I am super proud of you! Thanks for sharing your story. Amazing!

Just wondering how this worked for you. I am training for a half marathon and doing stronglifts. Now that my squats are getting up there in weight, I've found that my legs are very tired on my run days. I'm slower and just feel exhausted. I've been considering dropping my squats to 3x5 or sticking with 5x5 but dropping the…

What an awesome NSV - Congratulations!!!! Now you need to get back there and go on Superman. It's my second favorite ride there. X Flight is my absolute favorite! I think I went on it 5 times last year. I'm looking forward to going on Goliath.

I haven't read all of the posts but my garmin said I burned 3600 when I ran my first marathon. My weight was pretty much the same the next morning but by the end of the week I was down a few pounds.

The best exercise for you is the one that you enjoy and will stick with. If this works for you, great - keep at it. If you start to plateau, move on to something else. If it becomes easy - look for something harder. As for being too weak to work with any more than 1lb weights, I bet you can do more. Do you ever carry a bag…

I'm six weeks in to stronglifts. I've been lifting for a few years so In the beginning it was very easy for me but the weights add up quickly and it's getting pretty tough. Because you are new to lifting, I would suggest starting lighter than the olympic bar on some or all of the exercises so you can really get your form…

I have a knee injury as well and my doc said I can do anything that doesn't cause pain. I can ride my bike, swim, lift weights (mostly upper body at first but as I healed I was able to add in more lower body work), pilates, and the elliptical. I continued to go to kickboxing and just did low impact. If something hurts, I…

Was that in the news today? I knew about the economic part but am surprised about the physical fitness part. The majority of my friends are very into fitness but perhaps I surround myself with like people now. I met two of my closest friends at the gym.

My favorite local place to run is on a paved trail along the river near my house. I run all year long and as long as it's not super hot with high humidity, I'm happy. Fall would be my favorite though.

Sign up for some races. There's nothing wrong with sticking to 3 milers for a while. When and if you are ready to increase your distance, you will.

Yay for you - that's an awesome NSV!!!!

I run with a belt and bring liquid with me or stop at a water fountain. You don't need to drink a lot. I actually do most of my drinking on my cool down walk but it's nice to have water or gatorade with me for when I do need it.

I would try staying closer to home so you can pop in if you need to go or change your route to one where you can find bathrooms. If you know of a nearby park or baseball field, they will probably have a bathroom or porta potty. This is an issue for every runner. When I was marathon training with a group, the leader told us…

Amazing job and you are gorgeous!

Mine would eat any kind of meat and cheese and some veggies (corn and green beans). I have one dog that loves bananas and the other doesn't like them at all. I still offer her some but she usually just walks away from it. They love puppy cones from Dairy Queen.

I agree with everyone who said you can do it! Hal Higdon's beginning training program goes to 10 miles for a half. If your goal is to finish, you are in great shape already. If you had a time goal, I would suggest finding one a little further out that you could train properly for. I've done RNR Chicago and it's a fun race…

Tonight I'm going out for sushi with friends.

Perhaps your starting point was too high. My husband did stronglifts. When you fail, don't you need to drop your weight back down and then work your way back up? Also, get 2.5 lb plates so you can increase by 5 each workout.

Going commando is fine but I think a lot of women need to realize that thin yoga pants can be see through and are not always flattering, showing every lump and bump. So my only suggestion would be a quick look in the mirror before going commando in certain bottoms. And VPL is visible panty line.

I'm going to have to go against the crowd here and say no to the byob on the invite. If it were just your friends, byob is fine. But since you are inviting his coworkers and foreman, I would not put that on the invitation. You don't have to buy a lot of alcohol for the party. Most people will show up with a bottle of…

Love this recipe. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/chili-rubbed-pork-tenderloin-with-apricot-ginger-glaze/detail.aspx If it's too cold to grill, I've cooked it in the oven on 350 for an hour, basting with some of the sauce for the last 10 minutes or so.
