423 pounds here. Can get out of a chair easily enough, but I get winded from even fast walking for a mile. So I guess I count well enough for your example. To me, WLS is not an option because it doesn't really solve anything. Okay, so my stomach is smaller, great. That doesn't prevent my cravings or psychological issues or…

Any other super heavyweights out there? Hit me up and let's kick some *kitten*. I'm 6'4'" and topped out at a shameful 460 pounds at the beginning of this year and proceeded to lollygag with my weight loss for the last eight months. I'm now down to my mid 420's and am looking to kick it into high gear. I want to be in my…

Yeah, I have. It was an awful, crummy experience. Girl didn't make it all the way to the river when jumping off a cliff. Landing on a wet sandstone shelf, knocked her self out, broke her arm in two spots, and slid into the river. Really sucky, and it's luck that I was just chilling in the river at the moment when I was and…

Heathen former believer I may be, but I do love my theology talks still. Got to say yes. Plus Cascadia props, of course.

Sweet Jesus, Odin, and Allah, that turned out really well! I know I've got a TON of loose skin awaiting me at the end of things, and to be honest, it really, really freaks me out. Props to all of you who have worked hard enough to get to a point of having all that loose skin. Major props.

Are you ready, bro! This ****'s going down!

Oh, definitely mean. Ready to tear some MoFo's up kinda mean.

Tiana. Is that too token? ****!
-
Yes. It'd be a rough job, but somebody's got to do it.

I unequivocally understand how that goes. Get the cravings, then the justification and self-loathing and doubt starts piling on, then you give into the cravings, and the cycle continues. Might as well give in and enjoy this food, it's about all I'm ever going to have to enjoy, right? To hell with that. Staying aware and in…

Hope. Not to go all existential on everybody, but I believe that I've got rights to have a whole lot of hope when I reach my goal, am healthier, and am much thinner. Hope for a live not cut short by a heart attack or type two diabetes, hope for long-term relationships, hope for being able to be as active as my athletic…

THIS IS ... MFP?

Rocking a tux? Can't say no to that, Too damn dapper.

The only thing that has really helped me consistently feeling the cravings and meeting them with an equal amount of outrage, anger, and indignation. For me, it's late night fast food, and my inner monologue generally turns into something like this: Do I want Wendy's? Hell yes.. hell no! **** you Wendy's! I want to be…

Or fosters the *kitten* and keeps the timid away. Timid which might benefit from a weight loss community in the first place.

Gained four pounds in one week at 1400 kcals a day? I highly doubt that. How are you figuring your calories? Might want to look at your math or your measurement methods.
-
MFP's forums can be a really damn snarky, mean-spirited place. Not as bad as, say, bodybuilding.com, but mean, nonetheless. Good folks are out there, though. It's a matter of finding them.
-
Don't. Especially using MFP to estimate calories burned, because MFP way over-estimates. Put in the work and calculate your calories seperately.

When I worked at Drug Warehouse in Owasso (as a high schooler back around 2000), our scale was the normal doctor's office kind that went up to 300/350. Whatever you decide, let me encourage you to not put off eating right and getting in some exercise until then. You WILL NOT regret a couple day headstart. I know I've told…

Brother, I've been there. My first time losing weight, I had to find a damn laundry scale at the hospital to get my weight, because I topped out at the doc's. This second go-round, I just ordered a high capacity one from Amazon. They've a number of 400-500lbs ones available.
-
That's been my experience. I've seen people get in the trap of using MFP to count calories burned and then adjusted their daily caloric intake up. It hasn't worked well. I believe MFP DRAMATICALLY OVERESTIMATES how many calories are burnt during various activities. I'm sorry, but you aren't working through 800 kcals in…

I weigh myself daily, but always keep in mind that the human body is weird and prone to fluctuations in weight for a half dozen reasons. As long as the moving average is heading down, I'm happy. Weighing each morning is simply a way to keep my head in the game.

800 kcals a day with an hour of cardio sounds pretty close to a crash diet. 5'10" woman at 150lbs wanting to go to 120? More power, but dropping that in two months is going to be a bear of a time.
