I'm in, starting today.

> I know that I need to be sensible to start with, and just start eating 2000 calories a day. To be as heavy as I am, I probably haven't done that in a long time, so this I'm starting sensibly before I try anything else. Right there with you, OP. My plan - and it's worked successfully in the past - is to focus solely on…

Absolutely unequivocally go with the Fork Putdown machine. No other machine or lift will compare.

Hello, I'm here because I'm only interested in tame, kindhearted women that I can make Spotify playlists for and then call them gorgeous in public MFP messages. Bonus points if she likes my fedora and neckbeard.

Fellow *kitten* embarrassing giant human being reporting in. HIT ME UP, FRIEND ME UP, AND LET'S GET NORMAL.

YMMV, but I've found I'm MUCH more attentive and diligent about my nutrition when I'm weighing myself each and every morning without exception. If I let myself skip a day or two, I've found that it is too easy for me to tell myself "No worries, brother, you can splurge today and make it up tomorrow!" - and that sets me up…

This thread so far.. wowsas. OP: If you're big, you're gonna have giant calves to move that weight around. Period. Depending on how your body stores fat, you might have thick legs and cankles. No spot treatments will help any of that.

Right here with you all. Got 150ish pounds left that I'd like to lose before I start to feel comfortable in my own skin. Back in action here at MFP; feel free to add me. Let's do this!

The "Road to Paloma" soundtrack. Good stuff. Lots of blues rock and roots type stuff. Beautifully shot movie, too.

Ultimately, yes. Fiddle with your daily intake as you go along, but I lost 140 pounds a few years ago simply by counting calories, eating whatever I wanted - even fast food - as long as I came in under goal, and getting to the gym. There are merits to certain diets, but strictly speaking they aren't necessary for fat loss…

Huge fantasy genre geek here. Big fan of epic fantasy and sword & sorcery authors and spend too much time daydreaming about my own worldbuilding and writing project. I've been part of a regular tabletop / pen & paper RPG group for several years now. Been mostly playing d20 based games ala D&D and Pathfinder, but I'm…

I might be in the anti-WLS group, but that's not a fair assessment of things.

It all started going downhill after the bank heist in Raton, New Mexico...

Been chilling in PDX for seven years now. Love a lot about living in the Pacific Northwest. Feel free to friend me, you guys; leave me a message that you're in Oregon.

Good grief, that's some impressive greyscale work! Very nice!

Hetero, Ex-Christian Humanist, PnP RPGer Geerk, checking in. Huge fantasy geek. HUGE. And one of these days I'll get to serious work on my fantasy setting and books! One day!

I've three. My upper arms have one a piece: two Greek words with some personal dates and then filigree work similar to the forearm piece below: Now I'm really contemplating an elbow piece, but 1. my elbows are really dry and nasty. I'm concerned about if the ink will hold. 2. I'm also concerned about future weight loss and…

That may be the most eloquent, well written, surreptitious way I've ever had anyone tell me to f*** off before. Well done. I almost missed it in all the flowery language. The fact is there are a lot of folks to whom our perspective about the validity of most weight loss surgeries is like rubbing salt in a wound and are…

Ah, sigh. I love being in the Pacific Northwest, but damn me do I love my Big XII football. Wish I could be back in Stillwater tailgating. (Obligatory "Go Pokes!")
-
No. That just.. No. On all accounts that is incorrect.

Well, for us meatatarians:
-
"I have a medical condition that keeps me from losing weight!" It's like saying need medical marijuana to treat your "glaucoma." Most of the time its BS.
-
Unless you at 3'11" and 86 pounds, that math doesn't add up. Either you're not estimating your caloric intake and expenditure correctly (very likely), or you have a undiagnosed medical condition.
-
Good god, am I the only person not aboard the oatmeal train? What am I missing here, folks?

<Reads sentence> <Looks at bikini avatar> <Reads sentence> <Looks at bikini avatar> <Reads sentence> <Looks at bikini avatar> Anyway, back to the WLS subject, which I agree with her totally about.
-
Here we go again. WLS does not magically make you lose weight. You still have to watch your food instake.
-
How so? How will WLS fix things?
-
No. No it's not. And if you go into WLS with that mindset, you're already effed.

I think people like to throw around "it's an easy way out," and that's not the case at all. It's a major friggin' surgery. That's never easy. I think the better way to look at them is tragically unnecessary. They ultimately don't solve anything. Just like this poster shares about her friend, you still have to put in the…
