  • I'm in. Just back from Jamaica on October 16 and will start right away. Cheers
  • I tend to agree with the majority of the previous posts. We've recently bought a juicer and are finding it a nice way to add some additional fruits and vegetables into our diet. I think it's a good supplement to a healthy diet, but fear that nothing but juice could lead to loss of muscle and a lack of protein. Whatever you…
  • I can empathize with you. I got diagnosed with hyperthyroid when I was in university and after treatment, I ended up being hypothyroid. I've been on meds ever since. Sort of sucks but it really is even more of a reason to make sure I eat right and exercise. If not, I start to put some weight back on. Glad you found some…
  • That's fantastic and inspiring. I've been stuck at 202 for a week or so, and hitting the "ones" I will see as a milestone; it's been a while. I was starting to get concerned that I'd never get there, but your post has reenergized me. It must have felt pretty great to see 199 show up on the scale. Well done and thanks for…
  • That is one heck of a start. Well done and you are bang on that 40 is a bit of a wake up call. Keep it up brother; it's worth it.
  • I haven't had the same trouble but did not that the loss slowed when water consumption was not at 8. I am forcing myself to drink 16 oz every morning first thing. That has seemed to help. How is your water consumption? I also learned today from a fitness friend that I have to make sure that my carb and fiber intake have to…
  • I've read that somehow treadmills are actually calibrated at a bit of a decline and as such they suggested that flat is about 1.5. I agree that the best workout seems to be a nice combo of speed and incline. Maybe give intervals a try. 2 minutes at a high speed and then back it off for a bit of a recovery.
  • The jordan23 caught my eye immediately. Your story sounds eerily familiar to mine. Over the last few years, excuses got in the way as well and the basketball game was far under the rim. MFP works well; I check in and log everything daily. I find that just being aware of what I am eating has made the biggest difference of…
  • Great work; keep it up. Tracking daily works for me as well. Week 3 under my belt now. 14 lbs down. Amazing what a combination of eating well and hitting the gym does. I too find that logging on to MFP in the evening and reading success stories helps avoid the nightly snacks.
