YES!! Where I have the big pooch of skin and it pulls on my c-secton scar. I just had 5 hernias repaired because of this. My doc said it is probably going to happen again. My belly hangs so bad I look like I have my *kitten* on backwards. So for medical reasons I definitely would have surgery.

I have noticed that many of the exercises in the MFP data base are on the high side compared to my HRM (Polar FT4). I have a slow heart rate though from being on a beta blocker. I can only get my heart rate up to 115 no matter how hard I exercise. The only thing I have found to be accurate are the figures for walking.…

There was just another question asked about this same subject a little while ago. That deficit is already figured in by MFP. Your exercise is what your heart rate monitor shows. The calories you burn while at rest are automatically part of your deficit for the day.

The one I use off of the databse says 1/4 cup. When it is 1/4 I am pretty sure they are referring to dry rice. 1/4 cup cooks up to about 1 cup. On my bag of rice it says that a serving is 1/4 cup of rice, dry. That is how I do it when I cook for my husband, son, and myself. I make three servings, using 3/4 cup of rice. It…

You don't bank calories. They are only for the given day.

When you go to "signature" there will be a text box. Copy and paste the link address into the box...make sure there is nothing in front of the "http". That should work.

Where I live Zumba is intense, hard core, sweaty, *kitten* kicking aerobics!! Its a bit more than general aerobics.
-
You have to enter it yourself, unless you want to use one of the types of dance. I finally invested in a heart rate monitor for around $70. It is the easiest and most accurate to gauge how much you burn. Before I got it I took the average burned during Zumba, which I think was 600 calories, and I put that in for an hour.…

You have your carbs set too low. They should be around 35% to 45% of your calories. Good sources of carbs are going to be whole grains that have high fiber. Some of these are quinoa, oatmeal, whole wheat breads, pastas and rice (still in moderation). Good choices of proteins are chicken, fish, dried beans, cottage cheese,…

Not to sound mean...but practically everything you are eating is not good for you. I have type II diabetes and I am not allowed to eat any of that stuff anymore. It sucks!! I know! I was diagnosed in 1995 and just recently got off of insulin (4 shots a day) after losing 40 pounds. I am still on pills. Diabetes is a serious…

For me personally, I think they have way too many calories and carbs. You can get whole wheat, high fiber english muffins that are much healthier. Most people hear "bagel" and assume they are healthy.

Creamy Italian salad dressing, french fries, and beef (I've cut out red meat due to high cholesterol). Oh yeah...I have a 4th...pasta!! It just has too many calories and carbs so I have eliminated it. That was probably the hardest. I used to dream of noodles!

I have a Polar FT4. It was only $70 off of Amazon. Whichever one you get make sure it has a chest strap. They record your heart rate directly. Ones without a strap are not accurate. Mine is easy to use, programs specifically to your information, shows you when you are within your target heart rate zone and how long you…

For me personally...I tried 1200 calories and I stopped losing weight. I was doing 1200 and NOT eating back my exercise calories. My weight loss came to an abrupt halt! My dietician had me raise it to 1400 calories and start eating my exercise calories and now I am losing at a rate of 1-2 pounds a week. I have lost 41…

I don't know, but over 700 calories for an hour walk seems like a lot. How much do you usually burn? It is all based on your height, weight, age, and sex. If you are heavier you are going to burn more. Yes, the heat will make your heart beat faster. However, I don't know if your calorie burn is truly a lot higher than it…

Actually gardening burns calories. I think it is even in the database. I have seen people record it many times. I know I sweat up a storm gardening. Is PNW the Pacific Northwest? I am geographically challenged...big time!

I have a Polar FT4. It only cost $70 on Amazon. It is easy to use. It was easy to program. I use it every day. It will keep record of your last 10 workouts so you can track your progress. It is waterproof. I use mine in the pool every day...I just make sure I rinse it well. It has a chest strap. Whichever one you…

This is like learning anything else...like how to walk or ride a bike. It is going to take time to learn what to eat. Be easy on yourself. You will make mistakes, just learn by them. As you log in all your food and see where you need to improve you will learn to make changes. Best of luck on your journey.

Don't know if you saw my reply, but I call that a foodgasm.

It is enough but (me personally) I suggest making sure you NET that many calories. That means that when you subtract your exercise calories you eat back that number of calories. For example: Start at 1200, exercise and burn 300, that leaves a net of 900, eat back 300 to net 1200. Many on here disagree about eating back…

I couldn't help but notice this on your post... SW : 96.7 CW : 90.7 Mini-Goal#1 : 80's by 30/05 GW : 60 by christmas! Is that in something different from pounds? I know everyone doesn't use the same units of measure. I saw "60 by Christmas and was like"...What?? Just wondering. Ok....sorry, just saw your profile and saw…

Did you get one with a chest strap. If you didn't it isn't going to be nearly as accurate. I initially got one that was just a watch, with no chest strap and it was horribly inaccurate. It was a Mio. What kind did you get? I have a Polar FT4 and it was under $70 off of Amazon. I even use it in the pool.

I did that yesterday with homemade mac -n- cheese. I exercised my butt off so I had the calories. When I eat something super delicious like that I call it a "food-gasm".

I have done Leslie Sansone's 1, 2, and 3 mile walk. I like them. They are simple and it is easy to keep up. However, they are a bit repetitive and if you want something with a lot of variety you may want to try something else. I have only used her videos off of Exercise TV.com This site has a lot of full length videos that…

I must say I don't agree. There is much more evidence that shows the benefits and necessity of water than the opposite. Also, the site you got your info from is "The Enquirer". I think we all know what they are famous for....not telling the truth or stretching the truth. Here are some sites that refute your information:…

I think you are supposed to drink one ounce for every two pounds of body weight. So...if you weigh 200 pounds, drink 100 ounces of water. So, according to this you may need to drink even more than the 8 8 oz. glasses. Here is a web page that talks about the benefits of water.…

Maybe pipe cleaners? They sell them at tobacco shops.

If you can track everything down to the wire, why are your food and exercise diaries blank for the past week or two? Just say'n...:noway:

I went to a restaurant this past Sunday called Grindstone Charlie's. They didn't have nutritional information. I ordered lemon pepper salmon...which came served on a small amount of rice. My 2 sides were cole slaw and a house salad. They didn't offer any low cal dressing so I got ranch. I cannot eat a salad without…
