A large portion of those 3500 calories are already figured into the deficit MFP figures into our calories allowed every day. Like for me...I have a deficit of something like 500 calories a day. That right there is a total of a 3500 calorie deficit a week.

If you put gas in your car and you drive more than usual you need to put more gas in it to keep it going. Its the same thing with us. Don't fuel up and we will eventually poop out.

I always go by my HRM. I have found the MFP database to be inaccurate on many exercises. Also, when you are on a machine at the gym, it does not have any of your personal information entered like a HRM does...I assume your HRM had you enter your age, weight, height, age, sex....go by the HRM.

Maybe you're exercising too much. Our muscles retain water after we exercise. Are you giving yourself rest days? Also don't do cardio and strengthening on the same day. I have been on a plateau too and I know how frustrating it can be. Hang in there. You have come a long way!

Use spaghetti squash instead of pasta. 8 ounces of spaghetti squash only has 44 calories and 10 carbs. 2 ounces of pasta has around 200 calories and about 36-41 carbs. Search "Hungry Girl" on the net. I just got one of her cook books. All of the recipes could be tweaked to be made with organic ingredients. The book I got has 300 recipes under 300 calories. She has some yummy recipes.

It's only temporary water weight loss. It comes right back. You don't lose any fat.

I like them but they have between 30 and 40 (some higher than 40) grams of carbs per serving. I try to watch my carbs. I think that is pretty high for just one serving of something. That is just me though.

Do you have a YMCA or YWCA within driving distance from where you live? That is where I go. They even do sponsored memberships if money is an issue. Also, most swim suits are 50% off this late in the season...just go get one.

I agree with most of the others...SWIM!! I go to water aerobics at least 5 times a week. It is low impact, but really gets my heart rate up. You can work it as hard as you want to. I burn about 300-350 calories an hour and my heart rate does get up in "the zone".
