  • This is a simple short routine from the Marine corp site. What ever weights you are using is personal to you. We all start at different points. the goal is progress. What I like about this one is it is based on time for each circuit. 20 Minutes Circuit Workout (*choose light weights for max reps) 1) Bench press* or pushups…
  • I used to go to Planet Fitness. But I needed more. I joined the local Y. I now use the pool 3-5 times a week, I signed up for a TRX class. Got swim lessons, joined their Multisport team. Run with the team, bike with the team, even swim in local lakes together with the team.Took spin classes, use the indoor track, $60. But…
  • Many triathletes follow a 2,2,2, plan. 2 days of biking, 2 days of running and 2 days of swimming every week. alternating sports daily. One work out is speed or technique focused , and the other is endurance. Don't under estimate the impact that swimming 2K will have on your heart rate when you transition to your bike…
  • Absolutely. Get a body fat scale that also measures % hydration. Track weight, % BF, and % H. I weigh myself after workouts to check my hydration levels. Therefore I can see what's fat, What's muscle and what's water weight. I am trying to lose, but I am also gaining some muscle. But there have been weeks in which my fat…

So running will allow you extra wiggle room for your diet. It's a great thing. But you still need to watch the calories closely. But 3 weeks is still early. Your body…
  • Everyone needs a large variety of types of food. The danger would be getting too much of one set of nutrients and lacking in others.
  • FXGS, I drank 5 half liter bottles of fresh water immediately after the race. I think I severely underestimated my need for water on this swim. I need to treat it more like a running race. If 1 gallon is 8 pounds. Then I drank 5/8 of a gallon. which sounds reasonably considering I drank 2.5 liters of fresh water afterward.…
  • Yeah I ran for a year but was in constant pain. no major injuries, but pain always. A friend of mine suggested I switch to triathlon. I switched to running, biking and swimming alternating workouts. All my running pain went away! I did not start to lose weight until I started tracking my food. I found that you can never…
  • The Roast dinner was probably high in salt. I've seen high salt intake increase the % water in my weight for days.
  • That's very inspiring. I'm just starting now.
  • Wow, from what you say I'm convinced that the change has to happen in your head before your body follows.
  • You are an inspiration! :drinker:
  • I had to eat before I ran in the past. The first 2-3 times I felt funny when running after I ate. But shortly afterward, It felt normal for me to eat then ran with no funny feelings.
