I agree. Eating meals has become all about convenience and taste. People do not want to take the time to cook, let alone, watch the calories they are shoving in their bodies.

Coming from someone who used to be over weight and is now divorced, I can say this. I had to want to be healthier for myself. My ex wife was brutal about my weight and it didn't motivate me to lose at all. It was quite the opposite. It's a slippery slope for sure.

My kitchen at home doesn't have junk food in it. However, work is a different story. My coworkers like to torment me with donuts, etc... However, I'm strong willed and "no thanks" is in my vocabulary.

It's all psychological. I'm an ex smoker too. Not exactly sure what to tell you other than to use MFP to regulate what you are eating. Once you hit your quota for the day, stop eating.

3500 calories roughly equal 1 lbs of weight. When you have sudden weight spikes of 5 to 7 lbs, it would be impossible for you to consume that much in food. The most logically explanation would be water weight. This is usually caused by high volumes of sodium. Cut way back on sodium, stay within your proper calorie range…
