I am just starting again and have been concerned about keeping my focus this time around. I have always been motivated to lose weight I just let barriers get in my way (I am Mom of 3 little ones so definitely have barriers). In past I decided to just complain about the difficulties instead of finding ways to work around…

I am new to this but I am proud to say that I have joined a gym and have worked out consistently for 3 weeks. I can tell my core is stronger. My posture is better. Now if I can just get all this fat from around my toning muscles.....

I have been there! I did great and then "got busy" and lost my focus. Gained it all back and am starting back up again. I tried to look at where it went bad and am trying to set myself up for success this time. 1- I am setting more realistic goals and trying to practice patience 2- I have scheduled in gym time into my…

I am just beginning, too. It's overwhelming looking at the long path ahead but I am trying to focus on moving forward a bit each day. I was looking at the before/after thread on here. SO INSPIRATIONAL!! Best wishes and congrats on taking first step.

I always wanted to lose weight but always listed the barriers to a healthy lifestyle. Finally It clicked. I saw a picture of myself which was brutal to see. I had to buy new clothes because my old wouldn't fit. I had to buy a size bigger and let me tell you none of it was my "style" just my size. I hit a low then decided…

lilistrawberry- I hadn't thought of the money saving factor.

I am just starting out now, too. There is definitely a learning curve. I have been surprised at how many calories some foods have and how little others have. I am learning what is low in calories but fills me up. I think if we are learning from our "mistakes" then that is a good thing. If we don't make changes then we…

I hate Valentines day. I would rather have my hubby tell me he loves me because he wants to not because it is a holiday and he has to. Not a fan of the flower thing either. My husband learned early on not to buy me flowers. I would rather go out and do something together than set a vase of flowers on my table and throw…

I don't mind a good salad. I used to pack salad every day for lunch but found I was wanting something warm. I usually have a side salad with dinner. It help fills me up.

I would be in. It is hard when Coke is everywhere.

Our bodies are complex. We all have to do what works for us. That's OK.

I have been delving into this topic, not just reading news articles. It gets confusing because reputable, peer reviewed sources are coming up with different results. I don't blame Diet Coke for my weight gain. Just a personal choice for me right now and I don't mean to say that it is the only way to be healthy or that it…

I have been doing some research about how different foods affect out body. Weight loss/gain is calories in and calories out but it is not a closed system and there are other factors involves as well. I am just now realizing this and trying to learn more about it. I have read research about Diet Soda that makes me think I…

I started over yesterday. I had success before but didn't totally commit. I realized my kids have a fat mom and that broke my heart. I am doing it for my kids with massive benefits to myself as well. We can do it. Just because we have tried and lost our focus before doesn't mean we can't break the cycle. Best wishes for…

I have been drinking green tea. It has not yet taken away my wish for a nice cold Diet Coke but it seems like a better choice.

I am a mom of 3 kiddos. I would love to connect with other moms trying to get healthy. I have put myself and my health on the back burner for so long that I am now almost 200 lbs and at 5 ft 3 that is entirely too much weight on my frame. I have lost and gained before so I am nervous about keeping this up this time around…

Scheduling exercise has been key for me. I used to fit it in when I could, or do it after the kids went to sleep (which was ridiculous). Now I schedule it in and treat it like a job. I attempt to do it the same time each week but I look ahead at our crazy schedule and if I need to change a session then I move it to another…

As a mom to 3 kiddos I have a very difficult time focusing on myself. My kids needs come first and thus I am now 60 pounds heavier than I should be. At first I had a very difficult time fitting exercise into my day. I used to fix dinner for them and dinner for me. I was frustrated. I do not have the answer but I can pass…

I work at a school, too. I am happy that there is no time to go out and grab lunch. I make sure I have some protein and lots of veggies and fiber to keep me full. Right now I am loving fresh tomatoes from my garden with just a small amount of fresh mozzarella. I do a lot of mason jar salads or some grilled chicken with…

Congrats for winning the battle so far. That is my new goal. I have young kids and so often treat myself after tucking them in. I have treated myself into obesity. I am also staying up way too late. So as of today ( just starting to focus on my health) no more late night snacks and earlier to bed.

I am back after a year away. Gained 20 pounds in that year. Pretty disgusted since I worked so hard to lose that 20 pounds. I lost my focus and am hoping this will keep me focused. It is so frustrating to keep starting over.

I am not sure which family's tradition will win out. My husband's family likes us to make Lasagna (they were stationed in Italy when he was little and have the best ever recipe). My family is German and likes having sauerbraten and other various german sides. In the past we have done both but I refuse to do that again. Too…

I frequently over think things  I just want to make sure I can get the most out of my time on the machine. I want to watch the scale numbers shrink.

I have been thinking about buying a HRM.
