Oh yes, There are DBs up to 200lbs (That I have seen.) I consider my gym weak, beacuse they only have 5 lbs incraments up to 60, then 10lbs up to 100. I miss those 95lbs, 120, and 150 DBs :cry: {needs new gym...}

I hate not getting a good lift because my grib gives out, But I want a good grip too. So, I do my lifts until my grib fails, then use straps to do the rest. Except for shrugs, then I just strap up and lift heavy.

This has been happening for the last 15 years. 36 really mean 39-40. Large is bigger than XL from 15 years ago, etc... Marketing and whatever sells. Coming to terms with your own painful truths is an important stage to improvement.

Whey protien is pretty generic. Find a 5lbs tub that is cheap and tastes good. Don't get blinded by marketing with all the brands that add in BCAAs, vitemens, and other stuff. I use ON Gold standard 100% whey.

You need to get into the 4-500+ grams a day to see negative effects of too much protien.

Going over in protien is not a problem. I consider it a min only. Too much protien only becomes a problem when you hit 4-500+ grams a day. Its normal when you don't have the muscles in your traps to cushion the bar. Use the cushion wrap at the gym (ask if you can't find it) or go buy 1 at a sports store.
